Here is what the Wanaka police have been dealing with over the last week; Last week we received reports of graffiti at the toilets in the vicinity of the Dinosaur Park.

A female youth was spoken to regarding attempting to steal a bikini from Mo Dean in Wanaka. Diligent work by staff, led to the offender being recognised after she returned to the shop. She is to be dealt with by the police youth aid section.

Last Thursday at 10:30pm, we received reports of a person in Meadowstone Drive walking down a private driveway stealing flowers. If anyone has any details on this please do get in touch.

A driver was apprehended in Moncrieff Place in the early hours of last Friday and blew just under twice the legal limit.

Last Friday at 9 pm, a driver was stopped on Achilles Place in Wanaka. He was breath tested and blew over the legal limit, - more harrowing was the fact that in the back of his car were his two young children.

A driver was spoken to in the New World supermarket car park. It turns out he had been causing a disturbance outside the Water Bar and then drove off. He was processed for drink driving and blew over the legal limit, all thanks to CCTV. On Saturday I received reports that persons had rammed a gate on the Outlet Track near the camping ground.

On examination of the scene it seems the offenders hit the gate at speed causing the gate to warp and rip out a fence post. In the process they smashed a headlight. So if anyone has seen a 4x4 driving around with a smashed headlight, I would be keen to know.

Also, last Saturday at around 3pm, offenders smashed 29 windows in the old primary school that lies between Warren Street and Tenby Street. It seems that they also gained access to the school. We have a few leads on this one but any information would be appreciated.

Proposal to change legal structure Wanaka Wastebusters proposes changing its legal structure from an Incorporated Society to a Limited Liability Company.

Why? • The Incorporated Society legal structure is intended for membership-driven organisaƟons eg sports clubs.

• Wastebusters has evolved from a membership-driven organisaƟon to a signiĮcant trading organisaƟon.

• The legal protecƟons provided by a Limited Liability structure would now suit the organisaƟon beƩer than those provided by an Incorporated Society.
