FIGHT THE FLOW  Aims to reduce hot water and energy usage in residential buildings  Contributes to water and energy conservation goals of university, utilities, and the government  Two part approach: retrofit and educational outreach  Initial project began in one residence hall, and now has expanded to 3 areas

THE GREEN INITIATIVE FUND  Shower valves were $13 each, and planned to purchase 80 showerheads in initial cycle  Required approval of facilities  Applied for grant through The Green Initiative Fund to cover valve costs and outreach materials

1ST INSTALLATION (20112012)

 Showerheads were found not to fit in Unit 3, and were moved to Unit 1  Installed in 2 buildings within Unit 1 complex

2ND INSTALLATION (IN PROGRESS)

 Unit 2 and University Village were checked and found to be same as Unit 1  Manufacturing design was found to be changed and no longer fit
