C GRADE AGAIN
AS JUSTIN DIDDAMS WINS ROUND 6
For the second week in a row C grade outfoxed the Handicapper and the chasing field of 75 A and B grade riders to score another overall win with Justin Diddams easily out sprinting Josh Early and Peter Cridland to win round 6. No change in the Series pointscore with Jack Bennett still clear with a 14 point lead but it does place Justin Diddams on top of the C grade competition. Unfortunately with 3 outright C grade wins its time for Diddams to say goodbye to C grade and try his luck in B grade over the last 2 races. Also time to move up are recent B grade winner Devraj Grewal and round 6 B grade winner Luke Roper. Rauland Development squad is “focused on the development of young athletes who have the potential to become elite riders and compete at the top level” so there’s no better place to put that to the test than A grade on a Tuesday night. C grade deserve their moment in the limelight after another smooth, fast race however when the A grade chase split in the last 5 laps the advantage was well and truly in C grades favour. A 5 man group of Jack Bennett, Edwin Britts, Phil Lucas, Michael Potter and Stephen Cuff put in some blistering laps to finally catch B grade at the bell however their chase effort along with negotiating through a cumbersome B grade slowed their chase. In the end the best A grade could manage was just outside the top 20 with Stephen Cuff claiming the win. Nicole Wilson was first woman home and once again all the girls rode extremely well with Eline Smit and Hattie Lowden prominent in C grade and Josie Talbot always in the b grade mix. Two races left before Season 36 draws to a close.
