STEPHEN CUFF WINS EXCITING 10 LAP SEASON FINALE Stephen Cuff won his first Tuesday Night Heffron in round 4 with a last lap attack but in a hectic and exciting 10 lap Season Finale, Cuff relied on his sprint to outsprint the entire field to take an emphatic win. Sydney City Skoda Series Leader Jack Bennett had to be satisfied with 2nd but still claimed the 2021 Series impressively backing up his wins from 2019 and 2021. 2020 Easts Trophy Race winner Luke Cridland rounded out the top 3. After a fortnight of late summer rain it was a relief to finally conduct the first Season Finale since 2019. Perfect race conditions and an exciting 10 lap format to beat the fading light delivered a great race and a celebratory vibe around the whole night. There were still B and C grade Series honours to be decided with only 3 points separating the top 3 riders in these grades. Chris Simpson’s B grade lead was on the line from Luke Roper in the final round but with an impressive 4th place overall, Simpson was able to finish the season on a high along with his Cheeky Racing squad to earn a well deserved win. For the first time in 36 seasons C grade was down to the wire between a male and female rider with Justin Diddams holding onto a 2pt advantage from Eline Smit into the final round. Both riders were in the mix on the final lap but Eline Smit put in the ride of her life to claim 2nd in C grade and claim both the C grade and Womens titles. Diddams was the ultimate sportsman despite suffering a last lap puncture. A great round of presentations rounded off the evening.
