OCEAN PARTNERSHIP FOR CHILDREN EARNS CAUSEWAY’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY GRANT

In Celebration of The Causeway Family of Dealerships 50th anniversary, we will be embarking on a yearlong campaign - Causeway’s 50 Golden Acts of Good - to help our neighbors and positively impact Ocean County.

Anchoring this campaign will be a Grant Giveaway program, through which Causeway will award a $10,000 grant to one Ocean County nonprofit every month, from January through November of 2019, culminating next December with the award of a New Ford Transit Connect Van. We are proud to announce our April $10,000 grant winner, Ocean Partnership for Children. “Changing Tides in the Lives of Families” Ocean Partnership for Children (OPC) changes lives by helping children between the ages of 4-21 years with behavioral, emotional, substance use, and developmental challenges, such as autism. These youth are in desperate need of being linked to services, such as in-home counseling, behavioral therapy, and mentoring. OPC strives to keep children and adolescents at home, in school, and in the community whenever possible. OPC has a great success rate of 80% of youth remaining at home, in school and in the community, which is where they belong. Serving ALL of Ocean County, they currently help 950 youth each and every day receive the services they need to be successful. One of the major factors in helping these children is technology. Ocean Partnership for Children uses technology to connect kids to the services they need. One of the greatest challenges OPC faces daily is the lack of laptops that the care managers use in the homes of the youth and families they serve. With more laptops on hand, OPC could help the youth more quickly and efficiently. As of right now, the care managers have to go back to the office to make the arrangements for critical services. Having laptops on hand would cut the wait times in half for services to get into the homes of the youth in need.

Causeway Presenting the grant award to Ocean Partnership for Children (From Left to Right) - David Wintrode General Manager, Joe Stroffolino Director of Advertising and Marketing, Mary Jo Buchanan Executive Director of Ocean Partnership for Children, Dave Wintrode President of Causeway Family of Dealerships, Corey Gellis General Sales Manager.

Mission The Mission of Ocean Partnership for Children is to enhance the well-being of youth and their families through natural and community supports. Vision Ocean Partnership for Children, Inc. envisions a totally accessible, individualized, family friendly system of care for youth and their families – one that offers the highest quality supports with unconditional care and sustainable success. OPC is Unique Ocean Partnership for Children is the only designated agency providing care management services in Ocean County. While the agency collaborates and coordinates with all other social service agencies, there is no other organization providing these specialized care coordination services. Eligibility Because Ocean Partnership for Children is a part of New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care, all referrals to OPC have to come through the State’s Contracted Systems Administrator, PerformCare. PerformCare is a call center that provides assessments for any youth and family in need 24/7. PerformCare can be reached by calling 1-877-6527624. More information about PerformCare can be obtained at www.performcarenj.org. Anyone, including the youth, family, school, the courts, hospitals, can make a referral to PerformCare and an assessment will be made. If the youth is determined to need care management services, the youth will then be referred to Ocean Partnership for Children and the agency will make contact within 24 hours. What to Expect Once a child has been referred by PerformCare to Ocean Partnership for Children, a Care Manager will make arrangements to meet with the family. During this meeting, the early stages of a plan will develop which will take into account the family’s strengths, values, culture and preferences.

A Care Manager will facilitate regular meetings called Child and Family Team Meetings. Care Managers also coordinate service providers and resources for the child and family as needed, modifying the plan to improve its effectiveness over time to help the child and family reach their vision. Crisis and safety plans will be developed which outline interventions and supports that the family and other team members can use during a crisis. OPC offers 24/7 Crisis on-call service to children and families who are being served. The Child and Family Team & the Care Manager The Care Manager will work with a family to help build a team consisting of individuals who know the child and family best, and who are willing to make a commitment to do whatever it takes to help them achieve positive outcomes. This team will consist of the child’s Caregiver, the Care Manager, formal service providers such as therapists and in-community providers, and natural or informal supports, such as a clergy member or trusted friend. A Child and Family Team (CFT) will change and evolve over time and as the needs of the child and family change. One of the first accomplishments of the Care Manager working with this CFT will be to create

a Crisis Plan. A Crisis Plan is a plan specifically tailored to the types of crisis experienced in the past by the child and family, and will contain interventions and supports for handling a child in crisis. These plans are often readdressed as time goes by and the child and family changes. The next important step is the development of the Individual Service Plan, or the ISP. Using “Wraparound values” and the care manager’s skills in strength-based planning, a service plan with sound, structured goals will be created using input from all team members. These plans are designed to be family-friendly and will change to meet the needs of the family. At each CFT meeting, which will occur about every sixty days, the ISP will be updated and the goals and services will be reviewed with all team members. Plans will be made to help a family achieve independence by moving to more “normal” community linkages whenever possible. The Care Manager will be responsible for coordinating all care needed for the child and family. Care Managers do not do therapy; they facilitate and coordinate the CFT process. Care Managers will guide a family through their journey with the CMO with respect, competency and dedication. Community Resources Using the creativity and input from the Child and Family Team, informal community supports and services will be identified for the family. Ocean Partnership has a staff dedicated to seeking out both traditional and non-traditional resources to help a family become more strongly connected to their community and move toward independence. Natural and informal supports are those who work with a child and family as volunteers or as caring community members. Examples of these individuals can be coaches, teachers, faith-based representatives, Big Brothers or Big Sisters, neighbors, relatives, friends, or others key individuals. The Community Resource Development staff at OPC develops and maintains a database of resources where families can locate basic needs such as food, clothing, healthcare, recreation and assistance with other quality of life issues. This can be found at the following website: http://www. oceanresourcenet.org/. Anyone can access Ocean ResourceNet even if they are not being serviced by Ocean Partnership for Children. Length of Care with OPC While the time that the youth and family are under the care of OPC may vary, on average they are with the agency for about 10-11 months. After that time, a transition plan is developed and the youth and family are able to work the plan independently. Cost of Services Because OPC is part of the State’s Children’s System of Care, services are covered under Medicaid, so there is no cost to the youth or family. Connecting to OPC If any youth or family wants to reach out to OPC directly, they can call the agency at 1-732-202-1585. They can also visit the website at www.oceanpartnership.org. OPC is continually recruiting for qualified care managers, as well as volunteer Board of Trustees members, so if interested, please contact the agency.

Members of the Stafford Lions executive committee recently toured K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital (KHCH) and the new Dorothy B. Hersh Foundation Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Center in the HOPE Tower. With the creation of the new Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Center in the HOPE Tower, all pediatric patients diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders are now treated at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. During the visit they met with Dr. Jessica Scerbo, section chief of pediatric hematology/oncology at KHCH and her team, to discuss the needs of the hospital’s growing children’s cancer program. Currently, 20 pediatric cancer patients are being treated here. The development of a comprehensive pediatric cancer program is projected to result in an additional 20-25 patients annually as pediatricians and the community learn about the new Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Center.

“WE RIDE FOR THOSE WHO DIED” In May of 2018, the Ocean Township Police Department participated in the annual Police Unity Tour. The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial and Museum. The ride, which takes place on bicycles, left Northern New Jersey on May 9th and arrived in Washington, DC on May 12th. After their arrival and some well needed rest, the Causeway Family of Dealerships sponsored their ride home with transportation. Recipe

Potato Nests with Peas, Ham and Cream Cheese Nonstick cooking spray 2 thick slices deli ham (about 4 ounces total) 16 ounces (about 3 1/2 cups) frozen shredded hash browns, thawed (about half of a 30-ounce bag) Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature Finely grated zest of one lemon 2 tablespoons milk 1/4 cup frozen peas 2 tablespoon chopped chives (1/2-inch pieces) Paprika, for serving

1. Position two racks in the top and bottom thirds of the oven and preheat to 425 degrees F. Spray a 12-cup and a 24-cup mini muffin tin with cooking spray and set aside. 2. Cut the ham into small matchsticks similar in size to the hash browns. Set aside and reserve 1/3 cup of the ham. Mix the remaining ham, hash browns, 1 teaspoon salt and some pepper in a large bowl. Divide the mixture evenly among the sprayed cups, using about 1 rounded tablespoon each. Press the mixture in a thin layer across the bottom and up the sides of each cup to make a nest, leaving the edges uneven and jagged. 3. Bake, rotating the pans halfway through, until the nests are dark brown around the tips and golden and crisp on the outside, about 25 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, beat the cream cheese, lemon zest, milk 1/2 teaspoon salt, and some pepper together in a medium bowl with an electric mixer on medium-high speed. Scrape the mixture into a resealable plastic bag, cut off the tip and set aside. 5. When the nests are ready, remove them from the oven and let sit until they are cool enough to handle, about 10 minutes. Carefully lift the nests out of the tins using a small offset spatula or butter knife and transfer to a cookie sheet. Pipe the filling evenly among the nests. This may be done ahead; the nests can be set aside at room temperature until ready to serve, up to two hours. 6. When ready to serve, heat the filled nests until the cream cheese is warm and the potatoes are crisp, about 7 minutes. Meanwhile, bring a small pot of water to a boil. Add the frozen peas and cook until they are warm but not shriveled, 5 to 6 minutes. Drain the peas in a colander, shaking to remove excess water. 7. Transfer the nests to a serving platter. Top each with 1/4 teaspoon of the reserved ham, 3 peas and about 1/4 teaspoon chopped chives. Sprinkle with paprika and serve immediately.

Mason’s Mission: Parents of organ donor wish to raise donations and awareness for Gift of Life Donor Program Mason was just 14-months old when he became an organ donor after he tragically passed away in September of 2012. He was able to donate his heart, lungs, kidneys and his liver; in doing so he was able to save the lives of three other children and one adult. Mason’s lungs went to a little boy named Bryson, who was in need of a lung transplant to save his life after his own were scarred from chemotherapy treatment. Luckily, Bryson’s transplant went well and he is now a healthy and happy 10 year-old because of Mason’s gift.

Mason Above, Mason and Bryson’s families when they cooked at the Family House. At left,Mason’s parents Kellie and Adam meeting Bryson

Bryson wanted to meet the family who gave him a second chance at life, so his family traveled from Ohio to New Jersey to say thank you. They celebrated Mason’s life together by cooking a meal for other transplant families at Gift of Life Family House. While volunteering at the Family House, Bryson met some other lung recipients and learned about their transplant journeys. Because of Gift of Life Family House, families like Bryson’s have a comfortable living space free of charge, which is vitally important. Bills quickly stack up which just causes more stress, when surgery on a child alone is enough for any parent to deal with. What is Gift of Life Family House? (giftoflifefamilyhouse.org/) Gift of Life Family House serves as a “home away from home” for transplant patients and their families by providing temporary, affordable lodging, meals, and supportive services to those who travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for transplant-related care. Gift of Life Family House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. For more than 44 years, Gift of Life Donor Program—a federally designated nonprofit organ procurement organization—has served as the link in Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware, connecting patients awaiting organ and tissue transplants and those who donate these precious gifts of life. Since 1974, Gift of Life Donor Program has coordinated more than 47,000 organs for transplant and approximately one million tissue transplants that have resulted from Gift of Life donors.

Recognizing the critical need for affordable accommodations and supportive services for transplant families, Gift of Life Donor Program and the Transplant Foundation collaborated to open a unique lodging facility for transplant candidates, recipients, family members, and living donors. That facility, Gift of Life Family House, officially opened its doors to transplant families in July 2011 in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia. Mason’s parents established a group in Mason’s memory called Mason’s Mission; in which they raise donations and awareness for Gift of Life Donor Program and Organ Donation. They feel that in Mason’s short 14 months on this earth he was able to accomplish more than most will do in a lifetime. They have now pledged to raise $25,000 to underwrite a new guestroom to be built at the Family House in memory of their son.

Most notably, the boys had the privilege of earning their Duty to Country requirement by receiving a civics lesson from Ocean County Freeholder Gerry Little. After the lesson, Freeholder Little gave the group a guided tour of the county’s public meeting room and introduced them to Ocean County Sheriff Mastronardy. Sheriff Mastronardy gave the boys an overview of his department’s vast law enforcement operations. The night ended with a guided tour of Ocean County’s historic 1850 Courtroom 1 from Vietnam Veteran and retired Cubmaster Joseph Scutti.

FORD F-150 IS BEST PERFORMING PICKUP TRUCK IN IIHS PASSENGER-SIDE SAFETY TESTING; EARNS ALL GOOD RATINGS

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has released test results showing that among all light-duty crew cab pickups measured in small overlap front crash testing for both driver and passenger, the 2019 Ford F-150 is the only truck to earn its top-tier good rating in all categories. Among 11 pickups, F-150 is also on top as the best performer in passenger-side small overlap front crash testing.

“F-150’s smart engineering, plus the innovative combination of its high-strength steel frame and high-strength, militarygrade, aluminum alloy body continues to demonstrate enduring customer benefits – from repeated class-leading crash test performance to best-in-class towing and payload,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford executive vice president, Product Development and Purchasing. A cross-functional group of Ford truck veterans worked thousands of hours to help improve durability, capability, fuel economy and safety for F-150. The team created 31 safety-related innovations – including structures that manage crash forces, plus joining methods that were tested virtually with computer simulations then retested in Ford’s advanced laboratories. To manage crash forces in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s small overlap front crash test, Ford created a system of innovations that work together to help achieve

this result. These include a patented extruded aluminum roof crossmember and additional frame crossmember that work to improve crash resilience. Other smart innovations include nylon hinge pillar reinforcements that save weight, and in conjunction with specially designed wheel blockers, work to

control crash forces while also providing additional safety. This accolade follows National Highway Traffic Safety Administration testing that awarded F-150 crew cab a fivestar overall vehicle score and a five-star rating for driver and passenger for all crash test modes.

NISSAN PATHFINDER EARNS FAMILY APPROVAL AS ONE OF PARENTS MAGAZINE’S “10 BEST FAMILY CARS OF 2019”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For 12 years and counting, Parents magazine editors have used their family life expertise to help create the ultimate list of “10 Best Family Cars of 2019.” This year, the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder – with its breadth of advanced safety and driver assistance features – has been named to the Best Three-Row SUVs category. Pathfinder was noted specifically for its Intelligent Around View® Monitor (I-AVM) and Rear Door Alert (RDA)1 system, which can help remind customers of items that may be forgotten in the rear seat. The “10 Best Family Cars of 2019” appears in the May issue of Parents and online. Pathfinder’s innovative Rear Door Alert system detects if a rear door is opened prior to driving, and if it is not opened again at the end of the trip, the system can remind customers that something might be left in the rear seat1. RDA is designed to be simple, unobtrusive and can be easily turned on or off as needed. Among the many other family-friendly Pathfinder features are an available Motion-Activated liftgate with liftgate position memory. Pathfinder’s stylish interior includes comfortable seating for seven. Every 2019 Pathfinder interior is anchored by Nissan’s innovative EZ Flex® Seating System with LATCH AND GLIDE®, a 2nd row tilt and glide seat that allows easy 3rd row access with a child safety seat still installed2. The 2019 Pathfinder’s wide range of available convenience features and driving aids also includes

standard Bluetooth® Handsfree Phone System, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio3, Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control, RearView Monitor, and available 13-speaker Bose® Premium Audio system, Mobile Family Entertainment Package with dual headrest 8.0-inch DVD monitors, Nissan Intelligent Key® with programmable settings, Remote Engine Start4, Dual Panorama Moonroof and Easy-Fill Tire Alert. Advanced Driver Assistance technology includes Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

The seven-passenger 2019 Pathfinder is offered in 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive configurations and a choice of four well-equipped grade levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum. New for 2019 is the Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition, a special value option package offering unique exterior and interior treatments that emphasize the rugged Pathfinder heritage. NISSAN DEBUTS THE EXPRESSIVE, HIGH TECH, ALL-NEW 2020 VERSA DURING A SURPRISE CONCERT AT ROCK THE OCEAN’S TORTUGA MUSIC FESTIVAL FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Surrounded by beach loving concert-goers on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, Nissan, partnered with Live Nation to unveil its all-new 2020 Versa in the middle of a pop-up performance from popular country music star Kane Brown. The unique introduction, at Rock the Ocean’s Tortuga Music Festival, was fitting for the completely redesigned subcompact car poised to redefine the segment. Already the sales-leading nameplate of the subcompact sedan category1, the 2020 Nissan Versa which goes on sale summer 2019, offers a new level of refinement with a dramatic design and is loaded with technology and safety features not usually found in the segment – all for a price fitting buyers in the segment. “First impressions are exceptionally important, which is why we are thrilled to introduce the all-new 2020 Versa directly to our customers in such a memorable way,” said Claudia Marquez, vice president of sales operations, Nissan North America, Inc. “The Versa is our first impression into the Nissan family. I believe that when customers see this beautiful new car and all the amazing technology that comes with it for the price, they will be part of the Nissan family for life.” The third of four popular Nissan cars to be redesigned in the past seven months, the all-new Versa – with a clear design expression of the Nissan brand – will serve the more than five million customers who buy sedans each year in the U.S. Sedans remain a popular choice for Gen

X, Millennials and multicultural customers. Technology is a top priority in the all-new Nissan Versa, featuring available Nissan Safety Shield 360, a prime example of Nissan Intelligent Mobility that helps provide front, side and rear safety monitoring and intervention technologies. Standard safety features include Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning and High Beam Assist. Available equipment includes Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Driver Alertness and Intelligent Cruise Control. Design is also a key strategic advantage for the 2020 Versa, combining an all-new dramatic and expressive exterior with a fresh new interior with class-above features and quality.

The new design, which features lower, wider and longer exterior dimensions while retaining Versa’s roomy interior space, is the latest in the makeover of Nissan’s complete sedan lineup. The flagship Maxima and all-new Altima were redesigned in late 2018 under Nissan’s “Emotional Geometry” design language. Key elements – such as the V-motion grille, boomerang-shaped headlamps and tail lamps, kick-up C-pillars and floating roof – have been adapted to the new Versa. The result is an entry-level car that the designers describe as “an Energetic, Provocative and Engaging modern compact sedan. Inside, the Versa interior continues with the signature design elements found in Maxima and Altima, including the “Gliding Wing” instrument panel that expands the feel of the space through use of a light and sleek “wingspan.” The effect of the design’s spatial symmetry is an enhanced sense of togetherness. The horizontal architecture, open spaces and use of harmonious materials and colors add a fresh, up-level quality to the entire cabin. The next generation 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine offers 122 horsepower and a 114 lb-ft of torque paired with the enhanced Xtronic transmission or a 5-speed manual. Other tech features often reserved for more expensive segments are standard in the 2020 Versa, including remote keyless entry, push button start and power windows. Popular features like heated front seats, Automatic Climate Control, Apple CarPlayTM and Android AutoTM are also available.

LINCOLN AVIATOR CABIN TRANSFORMED INTO CONCERT HALL WITH 28-SPEAKER IMMERSIVE SOUND SYSTEM DEARBORN, Mich., April 4, 2019 – The all-new 2020 Lincoln Aviator features an audio system worthy of its show-stopping looks – one that allows clients to relax, unwind, and truly immerse themselves in a sanctuary of sound.

Revel Ultima systems also include Clari-Fi™, a patented HARMAN technology that works in real-time to rebuild audio details lost in digitally compressed music. ClariFi reconstructs it for an enhanced listening experience regardless of source.

Making its debut in Lincoln’s all-new three-row SUV, the all new Revel Ultima 3D sound system offers clients a choice between three listening modes – stereo, audience and on-stage. But it takes the listening experience to a whole new dimension by adding an immersion control slider in the center stack and four sets of dual-height speakers in the Aviator’s headliner.

The creation of the system is a team effort – Lincoln engineers worked tirelessly on Aviator’s cabin to ensure the listening experience is optimized, including adding a wealth of interior and exterior noise control strategies to minimize unwanted noise. There’s acoustic laminated windshield and side glass, as well as acoustic underbody shields and wheel arch liners. The doors are built for quiet, solid closure, and the chassis was tuned to reduce road-induced low-frequency rumble.

The slider allows clients to personalize the audio experience by determining how much they want the music to envelop them in a cabin featuring 28 speakers. The addition of the height speakers allows for a 360-degree listening experience, transforming the Aviator cabin into a true concert hall for the road. Revel Ultima 3D transforms the environment of the vehicle with custom speaker placements for Aviator, acoustically expanding the feeling of the cabin while offering an intimate and personalized listening experience from all around. Revel Ultima 3D transforms the environment of the vehicle, acoustically expanding the feeling of the cabin while offering an intimate and personalized listening experience from all around. “Our goal is to break down walls,” says Brandon Wheeler, manager, customer acoustics, Revel. “As you increase the immersion, you find yourself inside an incredibly expansive listening environment – one that seems to extend beyond the vehicle interior. Guitars, left and right, are very wide. The vocals are incredible. It’s really changing the norm of what you’d expect from sound in terms of reinforcement and position.” The additional speakers and immersion slider availability add to the already advanced modes: In stereo mode, clients are sitting in the sweet spot between a pair of Revel Ultima speakers In audience mode, clients enjoy the best seat in a concert hall as the stage widens in all directions In on-stage mode, clients are seemingly on stage with the musical performance; immersed in 360-degree sound. Precise placement, advanced technology The placement, tuning, calibration and the number of Revel speakers are unique to each Lincoln vehicle, designed to ensure superior audio quality and accuracy. In Aviator, new dual 40-millimeter speakers are located above each occupant in the front and second-row seats for a total of eight speakers in the ceiling. They are meticulously integrated with the three-way speakers in the doors and two-way front and rear speakers. In the Aviator, even the alerts are music to the driver’s

ears. Precise, crystalline notes recorded by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra provide distinct musical alerts for about 25 features in the vehicles, enhancing the overall experience. Revel engineers maintain the same standard in their luxury home theaters by designing the vehicle with an architectural structure that ensures every detail of a song reaches an occupant’s ears at the precise time and level, delivering the most authentic listening experience. This design is crucial to delivering the award-winning sound quality for which Revel is known.

A dual-wall dash system provides an additional barrier and air gap between passengers and the engine compartment, serving as a separation to keep vibrations and noise out of the cabin. There is 360-degree hood sealing as well. The audio system has been meticulously integrated into the spacious, streamlined cabin, with the team carrying out multiple levels of checking and tuning to make sure it sounds great at different speeds. “The first time you hear it, you’ll get goosebumps,” says Wheeler. “I can almost guarantee it.”

HYUNDAI VELOSTER N NAMED A 2019 AUTOMOBILE® MAGAZINE ALL-STAR choosing the AUTOMOBILE All-Stars has been about cutting through hype and noise in search of a select group of vehicles that exhibits outstanding style, performance, functionality, class, importance, and desirability. AUTOMOBILE chooses its All-Stars vehicle contender list from the entirety of all-new, heavily revised, or newly significant model variants on sale or otherwise available in the U.S. in the 12 months preceding its test, which occurs annually in December. To receive an invitation to the annual shootout, culled from an initial list of dozens more, means a car is massively impressive and already worthy of recognition.

Amelia Island, Fla., Mar. 11, 2019 – The Hyundai Veloster N performance coupe has been named a 2019 Automobile® magazine All-Star at an award ceremony surrounding events at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in Florida. Veloster N represents Hyundai’s highest performance vehicle ever for the U.S. market. Hyundai’s first U.S. market N model leverages the outstanding, new-for-2019 Veloster platform, showcasing an even higher level of performance appealing to the most discerning of automotive enthusiasts. “We couldn’t be more thrilled that our first N model has been named a highly-exclusive Automobile® All-Star,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of Product, Corporate and Digital Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Veloster N has been extremely well received by enthusiast media and customers alike, and the Automobile All-Star designation further confirms its visceral appeal to those who truly love to drive.” Hyundai’s high-performance N brand was developed to make the driver’s heart beat faster whenever they’re behind the wheel. With fun-to-drive character as a

The AUTOMOBILE editorial staff spends several days driving the contenders on public roads and on a racetrack, and casts final votes via private ballot. The formula is straightforward: no price caps, no categories, and no convoluted point-scoring rules. Indeed, All-Stars is the automotive media industry’s most straightforward award shootout: The vehicles that spark the most passion, inspire the biggest grins, and deliver an experience as true to their original intent as possible inevitably walk away with an All-Stars trophy.

top priority, Veloster N has been developed to deliver thrilling cornering ability coupled with everyday sports car drivability and race track capability. HERE ARE THE 2020 HYUNDAI SONATA’S COOLEST NEW FEATURES Based on its long list of tech, luxury, and safety features, you wouldn’t guess that the Sonata is an affordable mid-size sedan. Illuminated Chrome Trim Flanking the hood on either side is what at first looks like standard-issue chrome trim. But in a neat (and patented) trick, the leading quarter or so of that trim is backlit.

When that light switches on, it shines through in increasing intensity the closer it gets to the headlights, as the chrome coating has been burned off by a laser in an expanding grid of tiny, 0.05-milimeter squares to let light through.

CONGRATULATIONS! We’ve already told you about the new Hyundai Sonata that will be hitting U.S. streets this fall; although not all the information is out yet, what we do know is pretty impressive. The first thing you’ll notice is its shapely styling—see our prototype drive for a more in-depth look at its design—but the Sonata will also be remarkable to mid-size-sedan buyers for its many advanced tech features. We’ve detailed the most impressive ones below.

is a car key, but that changes with the new Sonata, which allows the car to be locked, unlocked, and driven using only a phone. The feature is controlled through a Hyundai-specific app and uses the phone’s near-field communication (NFC) for a secure connection to the vehicle. With the app open, hold the phone up to the driver’s door handle to unlock and then set the phone on the wireless-charging pad to enable the ignition. The app allows the owner to grant temporary or permanent Phone As Key access to other drivers, and also enables One of the very few things in our partial access so that, for example, a lives that can’t be stored on a phone package could be delivered into its trunk.
