With a new governor being elected recently in Jakarta, a touch of new hope for the future can be felt around town and with that maybe some new directions in sorting out the traffic problem around the city for one thing. I’m sure there are plenty of problems to think about on that score and many more, but Jim Read takes us further into the subject inside this edition. There are so many concerts and parties on lately it’s almost mind boggling and a sign that this city is becoming more international every day. In the past few weeks there have been many events including Soulnation with a bunch of foreign acts in the mix and then Keane, and this week we have Maroon 5 back in town, then David Guetta up at Ancol and let’s not forget the Stadium anniversary, always a fun time to go north. Soon there will be Jennifer Lopez, Sting and we also heard a whisper about Armin van Burren on his way early next year. The Jakarta Culinary Festival gets going soon and not too far away another edition of the Djakarta Warehouse Project. This all sounds great to me and I’d imagine you too. Meanwhile, there are plenty of regular shows on around town for you to fill your time between the big events. You can check inside for all the action in the What’s On and HereNow sections and we’ll see you around the traps. Always remember, drink in moderation and especially if getting behind the wheel.

Kotak were born out of Dream Band, an audition for new bands produced by Doddy Kahitna. In 2009 they were dubbed as The Best New Comer by Anugerah Planet Musik (APM) and Most Favorite Breakthrough Artist in 2009 MTV Indonesia Awards. After a few personnel changes, the current lineup consists of Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, James Valentine and Matt Flynn. The boys won a Grammy award for new artists in 2005 and best pop performance for a duo or group with vocals in 2005, 2006, 2007. They also won other huge awards including the Billboard Music Award in 2005 and 2007, an MTV VMA in 2004, and a World Music Award in the same year. To date they have released five albums, including one when they were still Kara’s Flower, with Overexposed being the last one out.

Besides being involved in a preparation for The Grammy Nominations Concert Live, they are also tied up with their busy touring schedule. T

hough a man of few words, Takamasa Ishihara, AKA Miyavi, is one of the hottest Japanese visual kei rockers on planet earth. His shows cover pop, rock, hip hop and metal as well as showing off some absolutely fabulous costumes that display fierce androgyny that the visual kei genre is known for.

Q:

A:

Can you please describe your music in a way that resembles a recipe from a cookbook?

No appetizers, salads, carbs or desserts, only meat. And it’s well done.

People can be categorized and generalized into specific subcultures (emo, hipster, goth, etc), if you had categorize yourself, what subculture would you fall into?

Samurai (just slapping the six strings).

If you could kill one musician and wipe out said musicians’ very existence from the face of the planet and all living memory, who would it be?

I kill no one.

Other than performing at the Hard Rock, any big plans for Bali?

Nice massage.

On a scale from 1-11, how hard will your show be?

1.00000000000000000000000000000 000000000000001

Craziest thing you’ve seen on stage?

A drummer who wears swim shorts.

You were once credited under the Miyabi moniker when you joined Due le Quartz, have you ever met the other Miyabi?

Sorry, I don’t know who you are talking about.

You’re looking at these questions on a screen of some sort, what is directly on the left of the screen?

My kids’ faces on the desktop.

www.beatmag.com

Hi Mr. Miyavi, how are you doing today?

How do you feel about the escalating territorial dispute between Japan and China over the Senkaku islands?

Cool as always, just got done with mixing my new album Samurai Sessions Vol.1 tonight!

All bulls**t. I dont get why we have to fight each other as Asians over an island that nobody lives in... No more hate.

lantika berkesenian Nusantara bolehlah kini bergembira.

Please wlecome the Volts, a new pop rock group from Jakarta. Founded in March 2012, this trio has just released their first single called "Fatamorgana" (Mirage). Causing quite a stir, it's being played quite frequently on national radio and they are regularly invited to join various TV shows. Fronted by a gutsy young Australian woman (who speaks fluent Indonesian), Lani Leyli, they are supported by a similarly young, but very respectable figure in the local music industry, Kevin Aprilio, who is the producer and released "Fatamorgana" under his label: Aprilio Kingdom. They plan to release another two singles shortly, and a full-length album next year. Stay connected with Volts by following them on Twitter @VOLTS_Indonesia and join their Facebook page: VOLTS.band

Driving – the Jakarta Craze When behind the wheel, go with the flow or travel at your own peril

www.beatmag.com

What links the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), which has just finished in Jakarta, with the recent election of a new Jakarta governor about to be confirmed officially? Transportation, of course, or traffic congestion, more specifically. There was no shortage of visitors to IIMS, which shows that people’s love affair with the automobile is as great in the capital as it is in so many of the world’s other major cities. The local automotive industry is bullish at the moment, for its association estimates sales are up 26 per cent on last year’s and it looks as though total annual sales nationwide will break through the one million vehicle milestone in 2012.

That means an average of more than 2,700 cars hitting the road every day. Clearly, not all of them will be in Jakarta but many will find their way onto the capital’s roads. Arguably the most pressing issue facing new Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo (“Jokowi”) will be how to address the city’s notorious traffic congestion. Broadly speaking, he campaigned on a platform of change and will be expected to hit the ground running once in office. Traffic congestion in Solo, Central Java, where Jokowi was mayor, is almost non-existent compared with what has become endemic in the capital. One can guess that the driving experience for road users is a great deal less stressful, too.

Whether or not poor driving habits in Jakarta are the result or cause of the city’s traffic congestion is a matter for endless debate but the truth of the matter is that few have learned how to drive “properly” by taking lessons from a qualified instructor and bad habits are simply passed on and accentuated from one generation of drivers to another.

f e a t u r e

031

// Here’s a “rogue’s gallery” of the worst behaviour:

// Turning If it’s left, too many car drivers fail to notice motorbikes that may be drawing close on the nearside, and vice versa. When it’s a right turn, the norm seems to be to pass oncoming traffic nearside to nearside rather than offside to offside, which creates poor visibility for everyone and causes the turning vehicle to cut the corner in the face of oncoming traffic. Jakarta does not (yet) have trams, unlike Melbourne, Australia. There, right-turning traffic must perform a “hook turn” on tram routes, which means you enter the left-most lane as you approach a junction, even though you intend ultmately to turn right. (Phew!) // Roundabouts Apart from some road users – particularly motorcyclists – opting to travel anti-clockwise on a roundabout because it seems “quicker”, the problem here is who should be accorded

priority – road users already on the roundabout or those about to enter it. The consensus seems to be the latter but an element of doubt still leads to frayed nerves and near-collisions. // Lane discipline At many junctions there is an informal understanding that left-turning traffic may proceed even though the traffic lights may be red. Woe betide anyone who intends to continue straight ahead but who finds themselves stopped in the left-hand lane! Overtaking should be done on the right but many will pass on the left, regardless. This seems to be particularly bad on Jakarta toll roads and the bypass in Bali that runs from Nusa Dua to Sanur. // General courtesy When the traffic is heavy, competition for whatever road space that may exist becomes intense. Try pulling into a main road from a minor one at peak time and see how long you have to wait before someone has the courtesy to let you in ... Equally, you may be travelling at speed along a toll road but the driver behind may be following too close with lights flashing, leaving very little time to react should anything unexpected occur. Flashing headlights can also be misinterpreted. In the West it often means “Please go ahead.” Here, it means “Stay where you are, I’m coming through.” It’s a lesson that’s learned quickly enough.

Despite the unbelievable traffic congestion that occurs on a regular basis in Jakarta, driving is ultimately considered to be a non-contact sport so there are far fewer collisions than you might normally expect. Ironically, the best option is to “go with the flow” by adapting to the driving norms here, whether or not they amount to “safe” driving in an objective sense. While many people may be car crazy in the capital, their driving habits may just be a survival response to the crazy conditions that also confront road users here. (Jim Read)

www.beatmag.com

// Traffic lights As they change from green to red, as many drivers as possible will try and squeeze through. This means that some will inevitably block the flow of those for whom the lights have just changed from red to green. Curiously though, the countdown timers now installed at many junctions have a calming effect on drivers, even those facing a long “red” phase. Once green comes, a mere nanosecond passes before impatient drivers hit the horn.

I’ve never been a Coach kind of girl. Although I own one, it’s usually not the brand I have on top of my mind whenever I’m thinking about adding to my bag collection… until now. When I checked out the lookbook for Coach’s latest collection, the fabulous Legacy collection for Fall 2012, I lost my breath for a minute. Can you blame me? With the vintage designs, vibrant colors, and buttery leather, every piece from the collection is a little masterpiece in itself. Hands down, their best collection to date! Priced around $50 to $500, the Legacy collection features everything from wood-heeled shoes to envelope wallets. However, best of all is the handbags. What’s good from them, you ask? First and foremost, they bring back Coach’s classic original style with its minimalist silhouettes and heritage hardware, such as the iconic turnlock. The twist is that those timeless pieces are updated with bold hues that are very mood-boosting and ontrend. Though modern in feel, these shades are actually inspired by the palette Bonnie Cashin introduced to Coach in the early 1960s.

www.beatmag.com

Second, aside from the plethora of solid colors, the collection also offers color-blocking—also inspired by Cashin styles from the 1960s—which I totally swooned over. Third, gone is the Coach monogramming—which is good news for some of us. And last, how can you not love the signature leather tassel attached on their pieces?

It kills me to do this (because it’s really hard), but here are my top 8 favorites from the collection

The Coach store at Plaza Senayan Ground Floor is set to open by the middle of next month. Hopefully, they will stock lots of Legacy collection items, because it’s going to be one of the most coveted items for Jakartans.

Besides the gorgeous colors, the interesting thing is that it has the same scent as the name. So if you choose Miss Raspberry, it will smell like raspberry. For me it’s fun, but if you have small tolerance to products that have a certain scents, I would probably proceed with caution, but you could always go for the nail polishes. I must say L’Oreal did a very good job on the packaging. And the color choices are lovely, nowadays I bet most of us at least love one candy pastel color. No wonder I instantly fell in love with the entire collection.

ucked away behind an Ace Hardware on Jalan Warung Buncit near Pejaten Village, a new restaurant has been getting some good buzz of late. This curious combination is a labor of love for Kika, a Yogyakarta native, and her Greek husband Niko, who is also the head chef. The gregarious couple always makes sure that they greet each customer and makes them feel right at home. HaloNiko! indeed feels like their home away from home. The front of the restaurant looks like an inviting porch, while the inside could be a bigger version of their dining room. It may not look like your typical Greek and Javanese eatery, but it’s a cozy little place to hang out and have a good, hearty meal. Kika also added some hand made decoration to the place. And check out the outdoor bar on the side of the restaurant! It just calls for a late afternoon, early evening chill out party.

HaloNiko! still has many dishes vying for our attention. So, there will be a next visit in the near future! Another nice thing about HaloNiko!, it’s a canine-friendly restaurant. You can bring your dog, but make sure you call in advance first.

With its excellent food and drinks and easy We visited them on a warm afternoon, and we Sunday vibe, HaloNiko! certainly deserves a were up for a bit of a food adventure, so we visit, any time of the week! opted for Niko’s cooking. First up was the Greek (Budi Iskandar) Salad (45k). This is the real, traditional version that does not include lettuce, like in most nonGreek specific restaurants. It’s a marvelous mix of tomatoes, paprika, onions, cucumbers, olives, capers, with big chunks of feta cheese, and topped with extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, and some oregano. What a cool way to begin our culinary journey!

The food here is, yes, a mix of Javanese (Kika’s recipes) and Greek (Niko’s specialties). The more familiar local dishes are already getting popular among the workers from nearby office buildings, but the Greek specials are starting to win some hearts, and stomachs, too.

Niko then made us the Mama Mousaka (60k); a casserole of layered eggplant, potatoes, and minced meat filling with milk cream sauce and parmesan cheese, baked to perfection. The Suvlaki (65k) here is simply superb; chunks of marinated tenderloin meat, tomatoes, onions, and a special sauce, wrapped in pita bread. For a bit of a Javanese twist, some ubi or sweet potato fries accompanied the dish quite nicely. We also tried the Red Moon Pizza (35k), a personal pan of goodness made of beef sausages, feta cheese, and some vegetables. Guess what? They also have a Jawa Pizza (35k) with opor ayam topping here!

For dessert, the Bugatsa (35k) is a great pick; handmade phyllo dough with custard filling, served warm and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. Lip-smackingly yummy! As for beverages, the funnily-named Dhemes Kemrenyes (35k) – sparkling white grape, peach, apple, and lemonade mix is very refreshing, and the Ice Coffee Frappe with Vanilla Ice Cream (35k) is fantastic.

Kika and Niko suggested that we try the Ayam Bumbu Rujak Pedes with Pasta (55k). We love the flavorsome mix of East and West; just like those two.

heard about Lulo Kitchen & Bar from our friends only recently, and they were singing nothing but praise for the excellent breakfast menu. This could be the place for a weekend brunch or a nice late breakfast. But the breakfast menu at Lulo is served all day, every day! The interior has an “art noveau” look. A nice mixture of different types of furniture seems to go together, added with a touch of France here and there. Check out how playful the rugs are put. Upside down! But this cute dining area gives way to a more dimly lit and sensual bar area. A cool juxtaposition there.

everyone; English, Spanish, Scandinavian, Korean, Japanese, New York, Philadelphia, and of course, Indonesian breakfast dishes, along with a few others. We picked the French Breakfast (50k); eggs benedict, sautéed mushroom, spinach, ham, and hollandaise sauce. Not too heavy, not too light; a good way to start your day (Or any time of day, for that matter). We liked the smooth poached eggs very much. Like bagels? Try the New York Breakfast (70k), a bagel generously filled with smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, tomato, and cream cheese.

Some of the appetizers here are just scrumptious; try the Lulo Spring Rolls (35k), the Mozzarella Fritters with Sweet and Spicy Tomato Dip (39k), Lulo is pretty serious when it comes to breakfast. and the Beef Tortilla Brochettes with Avocado It seems like they have specialties from almost Cream (55k). every place imaginable. Two of Lulo’s best selling (non breakfast) dishes are the Roasted Whole Baby Chicken with Roasted Baby Potato and Vegetables (90k), and the Wagyu Beef with Wasabi Mayo (135k). The chicken is roasted to perfection, slightly crispy on the outside but tender inside, and accompanied perfectly by a special home made gravy. The Wagyu beef is beautifully served on a banana leaf on top of a heavy wooden platter, and the wasabi mayo adds a certain zing to the dish.

mix of Sambuca, Absolut Kurant, Cointreau, sweet and sour, plus simple syrup, or the Hanoi Hooker (85k) – Absolut Kurant, Jack Daniels, Grand Marnier, Blue Curacao, Cointreau, and Strawberry Hershey Syrup. And how can we pass on the Adios Motherf**ker (85k) – a potent blend of Absolut Vodka, Gordon’s Gin, Bacardi Light Rum, Jose Cuervo Tequila, Triple Sec, Blue Curacao, with a dash of Sprite! Kudos to the bartenders!

Craving for some rice? The ‘Fast ‘N Easy Rice’ dishes are just the thing. We highly recommend that you give the Dori Fish Fillet with Sambal Matah and Rice (50k) a try. The flavorful kick from the Balinese-style sambal matah is wonderful. This is another crowd favorite, and it’s easy to see why.

From the all-day breakfast menu to fabulous cocktails and everything in between, Lulo is ready to shake up Jakarta’s dining scene. (Budi Iskandar)

As for the cocktails, we picked three of the signature drinks here, with very interesting names. Go for the Pink Love (85k) – A smooth

The Sounds o Silence

By Erza S.T.

The art of motion pictures was blossoming between 1894 to 1929, a time known as the silent era. This was a time when the technology to record sound and voice was lacking. What they did back then was make the film and perform with an orchestra to create the musical background. By definition, a silent film is a film with no synchronized recorded sound, and especially no spoken dialogue. Instead they would use title cards and muted gestures or mime to convey the dialogue. Charlie Chaplin is perhaps the best known name from this era.

Composer Pierre Oser is a German composer who had composed various themes from classical pieces to movie scores, with a focus on silent films. He studied classical piano and went to Richard Strauss Conservatoire Munich. Pierre Oser himself will conduct the performance for this movie in Jakarta and Bandung.

Now they are back to bring another classic favorite from the era called Nosferatu. This famous movie made by F.W. Murnau is a classic 1922 German expressionist horror film about vampire named Count Orlok. To accompany the movie is a score version composed by Pierre Oser that will be perform by the string ensemble from Capella Amadeus Jakarta and the award-wining choir: Batavia Madrigal Singers.

efore audio technology existed, theater was the first form of audiovisual entertainment back in ancient Greek times. When tunes were invented, we combined this element into theater performances and thus opera productions were born. For almost three centuries, opera and theater remained as the sole entertainment form when it came to audiovisual pleasure. However with the progress of time, human technology brought us new dimensions when film technology was discovered in the late 1800s.

Silent films almost always featured live music as it was recognized as essential, contributing to the atmosphere and giving the audience vital emotional cues. Percussion such as bass drums and cymbals for example would be used to create sound effects back then. Film scores for early silent films were either improvised or compiled from classical or theatrical repertory music. Famous French classical composer Camille Saint-Saens is perhaps the first composer who wrote full-blown scores for a movie called The Assassination of the Duke of Guise back in 1908.

www.beatmag.com

The revival of silent films finally happened last year when movie The Artist by director Michel Hazanavicius won an Oscar. It is pretty much the first silent film feature ever made since 1920’s. Though it is not mainstream anymore, we can still get silent film performances every now and then, even in Indonesia. Thanks to the Goethe Institute, silent films (with its live score performance) such as Tartuff was brought back to the audience and performed with a live music ensemble.

Taken 2 Action, Crime, Drama. Director: Olivier Megaton. Writers: Luc Besson, Robert Mark Kamen. Cast: Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace, Luke Grimes. You don’t mess with a father’s love in doing whatever it takes to save his daughter from bad guys, especially when said father was a CIA field agent. The four-year-old prequel illustrated this. The sequel directed by renowned action-film director, Olivier Megaton, and the same writers, Luc Besson and Robert Kamen. The sequel puts in a revenge plot from the mobster from the first film. Expect the same gripping actions, brutal bashing, stabbing, shooting, but this time, everything takes place in Istanbul. So if you want to take revenge on an ex CIA agent, think twice, because even though he doesn’t know who you are, he will find you and he will kill you.

Dredd 3D Action, Sci-Fi. Director: Pete Travis. Writers: Alex Garland, Carlos Ezquerra, John Wagner. Cast: Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Wood Harris, Langley Kirkwood, Lena Headey.

In 1995, fanboys rejoiced when legendary comic hero Judge Dredd hit cinemas, but they were sorely disappointed. Now in 2012, he’s back, to be the judge, jury and executioner... in 3D. Director Pete Travis (Vantage Point) and writer Alex Garland (The Beach) team up in this reboot starring Karl Urban. This looks like a winning formula that fans can actually get behind. We all hope the ultra violence of the original comic will live on and if so you can bet it’ll be worth checking this movie out for sure.

The Melody Drama, Romance, Thai. Writer & Director: Tossapol Srisukontarat. Cast: Pariyachat Limthammahesorn, Worawej Danuwong. There is something about Thai romance movies that can produce happy feel-good smiles or tears flowing down audience’s cheeks. The Melody was released on Valentine’s Day in Thailand and managed to beat even Hollywood box hits in ticket sales. How couldn’t it be? Handsome lead guy, pretty lead woman, lovely small town up in the mountains, romantic piano melody, it’s like the holy grail for most romantic types. So, for guys, do bring your girls for a lovely movie treat and don’t forget to put the hole in the popcorn.

ylvia Nugroho lives life the way she wants. She’s one of the few that really does take life by the horns, runs with it and somehow she gets away with it. She’s also an accomplished artist working in many mediums, painting, pasting clippings, photos, objects on canvases and welding them together with acrylic, the sweat of hard work and creative process. Nugroho has an exhibition at Four Seasons Jakarta from October 6 to November 28. And we thought we’d find out a little bit more about this extravagant bon-vivant of the Jakarta art scene and the first thing that struck me about the invitation I read the other day was this.

www.beatmag.com

There is an image of three women with smug looks on their faces with eyes closed and standing behind three luxury handbags on the invitation. The name of the painting is My Hermes is Better than Yours. What are you trying to say here? Sylvia: I just try to capture some of the Jakarta life style, with these ladies and their bags on my canvas. I wonder why they want to have all the same look and the same bags, particularly that Birkin model, even if it is not the original. Why do we have to blend in if we can stand out with our own style? Is there an underlying theme to the paintings in the exhibition? Sylvia: There is not any underlying theme, but most of the works require a second or third look, to deepen into the level of details, and get some of the messages, twists and sometimes funny notes. Overall it reflects the Oriental passion, and its multiple aspects, with influences from my years traveling and living in the Orient, like Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.

Is there an underling theme to your life? Sylvia: Interesting question! But it has nothing to do with my personal life, it is just the expression of my creativity, which is the main driver of my life. How long have you been practicing art? How did it start? Sylvia: As long as I remember, since my childhood. My background of studying interior design at Trisakti University, has certainly helped me put more structure and details into my work.

Your paintings are full of humour. Where does this humour come from? From within or without? Sylvia: If people see some humour in my paintings, it is usually created from their own reflection, or sensibility to see things under a different angle. There is no particular intention from my side, it is just some idea that crossed my mind, based on my observation, and what I feel and experience in my daily life. My friends will tell you that I am really fun ...

How do you find the Jakarta art scene, a happening thing? Sylvia: Much more should be done to create creative platforms, where exhibitions and creation mix and grow together. There are so many promising and talented artists in Indonesia, who deserve more support. You love new experiences, right? Travelling the world, hanging out with new exciting people. Is this reflected in your work? Sylvia: Of Course. I am always on the lookout for the unexpected beauty, and get inspired by it. What kind of opening can we look forward to at Four Seasons? Sylvia: Just casual, not too much protocol and formality, just relax and enjoy the art and spend a lovely evening together, exciting for all your senses.

www.beatmag.com

What influences have you had over the years? Do they continue the same or are they always changing? Sylvia: Yes, as an artist my painting style is changing because life is a journey and it has influenced my works. To mark this journey, I have also added some of my earlier works in this exhibition. There is no reason to be boxed into a particular style, free spirit and artistic expression will always lead to new ways.

200-year-old building built by the prodigy Pierre Cuypers is now on video to see. Yes, the Erasmus Huis is showing the beautiful and simple renovation that this building underwent in 2000. The Dutch government thought that the building was due for a fundamental makeover and they made it happen following a long preparatory phase to ensure that the museum was restored to its former grandeur.

The challenges were to strip the building of its later additions, and to completely restore it to Cuypers original layout. Of course the new makeover included a museum café, a shop, climate control device to preserve the art pieces themselves and security features in line with today’s requirements. Videos and images about the renovation will be on show which are open to the public. Also come to view major masterpieces from the original museum its self and also interactive artworks for people of all ages. Erasmus Huis, Jakarta Selatan.

Brisbane-based street artist Fintan Magee recently brought some much needed spunk to the walls around Jakarta. That’s right, world famous for skills with the spray can, Fintan, left Jakarta having painted edgy and Jakarta inspired pieces that gained much appreciation from the local street artist community. His work is mainly based on the characters and he garners inspiration from the normal day to day stuff, pieces that tell stories about leaders, teams, lovers, fighters and idealists. Fintan himself found Jakarta to be teaming with good vibes and hopes to come back and visit different cities and draw from the different energies around The Jakarta street artist community have been around for a while and they have had their share of big names come down to provide lessons and bring a different dimension to this controversial art. The community thanks Fintan and hope that there is plenty more of him to come.

The Memory Card to DVD Photo Converter

This is the converter that transfers images straight from a digital still or video camera to a blank DVD, saving users the hassle of connecting it to a computer. When a blank DVD or CD and a standard memory card are inserted into the device, the touch of a button copies files within minutes (burn speeds up to 8X for DVDs and 24X for CDs). If the data size exceeds the disc space, the device automatically divides files among multiple discs. The LCD screen displays the capacity, burn speed, and other pertinent details about memory cards and discs. Weighing only half a pound and as small as a slice of bread, the device can easily be toted on vacation so shutterbugs can back up or share photos before they get home. The converter also transfers files between discs and USB devices, or between a master and a blank disc. For use with DVD-R/RW or CD-R/ RW. www.hammacher.com US$199.95

Miss Hard Rock Bali 2012

www.beatmag.com

T

he Miss Hard Rock Bali competition was a very anticipated event. A group of beautiful finalists strutted down the catwalk on three different sessions in outfits that became skimpier as the night went on. After the fashion show the girls jumped into the foam-filled pool in their bathing suits. They began to dance and play with the bubbles with some lucky audience members who were invited to join them in the pool. The final itself was held the next week, which you will find a few pages further inside.
