2 012-13 GAME-BY-GAME RECAPS #15/18 OKLAHOMA ST. 64, TCU 47 Fort Worth, Texas (Daniel-Meyer Coliseum) Feb. 27, 2013

FORT WORTH — Kyan Anderson scored in double figures for the career-high fifth straight game, but No. 15 Oklahoma State proved to be too sharp on offense, downing TCU by a 64-47 count at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Cowboys singed the nets against the Frogs, finishing with a 55.1% shooting rate, the highest for a TCU opponent this season. While OSU was hot, the Frogs struggled, making only 27.3% of their shots. Leading by just three points with five minutes remaining in the first half, OSU finished off the stanza with a nice run to put the Frogs in a big halftime hole. The Cowboys scored 12 of the final 13 points of the half to take a 38-24 advantage into the locker room, then totaled the opening eight points of the second period to push their lead to 44-24. TCU was held to just a single free throw by Adrick McKinney during a combined stretch of more than 10 minutes between the two halves. Anderson ended the Frogs’ drought with a 3-pointer with 14:33 remaining. TCU was able to close the gap to 14 points following a dunk by Nate Butler Lind with 9:07 left, but the squad was unable to scratch any closer. GAME NOTES 4Devonta Abron set career bests in both free throws (eight) and attempts (10). The free throws matched the high by any Frog this season. 4Garlon Green made his 125th career appearance as a Frog, matching Femi Ibikule’s school record set between 2003-04 and 2006-07. 4TCU’s final field-goal percentage of 27.3% marked its second-lowest this season. OSU’s rate of 55.1% was the highest against the Frogs this year.

TEXAS TECH 72, TCU 63

Lubbock, Texas (United Spirit Arena) March 2, 2013 LUBBOCK, Texas — Kyan Anderson scored 18 points and Devonta Abron added 16, but TCU was unable to overcome a strong performance by Texas Tech’s frontcourt during a 72-63 road setback to the Red Raiders. Tech received a monster performance by its two starting post players, Jordan Tolbert and Dejan Kravic, as the pair combined for 38 points and 17 rebounds against the Frogs. Tolbert scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting, while Kravic added a double-double featuring 16 points and a game-high 11 boards. Tolbert and Kravic led a strong Red Raider offensive effort that was highlighted by a 62.2% shooting rate from the field, the top figure against TCU this season. The squad did most of its damage in the paint, outscoring the Frogs by a 42-22 count, but it did also sink 4-of-9 shots from beyond the arc. TCU was unable to match the Red Raiders’ efficiency, making only 39.2% of its shots. GAME NOTES 4Kyan Anderson led TCU with 18 points, his most since totaling 19 points Jan. 23 at West Virginia. He matched a career best with four 3-pointers. 4Devonta Abron fell just two points shy of his career scoring high with 16 and reached double figures for the third straight game to match his best career run. He matched his previous best with eight free throws. 4Adrick McKinney scored in double figures for the first time in eight games (13; Feb. 2 at Texas) with 10 points. He also led the Frogs in rebounds for the teamhigh 13th time this season with seven boards.

#9/10 KANSAS STATE 79, TCU 68 Manhattan, Kan. (Bramlage Coliseum) March 5, 2013

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Kyan Anderson recorded his fourth 20-point effort of the season but it wasn’t enough to keep up with No. 9 Kansas State, as the Wildcats downed TCU, 79-68. TCU put up one of its top offensive performances on the road, setting Big 12 seasons highs in points, shooting percentage and 3-pointers. The Wildcats countered the Frogs’ strong outing with one of their own, making nearly 55% of their shots from the field. KSU totaled 27 assists on the evening, the most against TCU since the 2007-08 season (BYU), while it crippled TCU from outside, draining 12-of-29 attempts from 3-point range. KSU put the Frogs in a 15-point hole at the half, but TCU continued to battle. The squad cut the lead to as few as four points with 10 minutes to play before the Wildcats jumped back out by 15 on the strength of three 3’s. GAME NOTES 4TCU set Big 12 season highs in points (68) and field-goal percentage (50.0% ) while matching its overall season high with six 3-pointers. 4 Kyan Anderson recorded his sixth career 20-point performance, and the fourth this season, with a game-high 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting. He hit a career-best five 3-pointers, topping his previous best of four. 4Anderson extended his streak of consecutive games reaching double figures to eight, the most for a Frog since Garlon Green also went eight straight during the 2010-11campaign. 4Devonta Abron also extended his career-long streak of double-digit efforts to four games with 10 points.
