outstanding player for us and one with great name recognition that will really benefit our program.” Following her All-American career at TCU, Irvin was chosen as the third overall selection in the 2005 WNBA Draft by Phoenix, where she played her first two seasons. She was acquired by the San Antonio Silver Stars via trade prior to the 2007 season. Irvin was a big part of a San Antonio squad that advanced deep into the WNBA playoffs in 2007 and 2008. She helped the Silver Stars finish second in the Western Conference and advance to the WNBA Western Conference Finals in 2007, when she played in a career-high 23 regular season games. The squad won its first-round playoff match-up that season with Sacramento before falling to Phoenix the following round. The 2008 season saw the Silver Stars advance to the WNBA Finals after winning the franchise’s first Western Conference championship.
