Join us for the 2012 Tavistock Cup, a fierce interclub match that brings together four global clubs in the ultimate showdown to determine the World Golf and Country Club Champion. This two-day tournament will take place on March 19 and 20 at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, where the inaugural matches began in 2004.

Each year, invited guests walk alongside many of the world’s greatest players giving them one of the most intimate experiences in the golf world. Guests cheer on their team as contestants compete for prize money along with coveted team Par 3 hole-in-one prizes, including cars, elegant timepieces, private air travel and more.

The Tavistock Cup’s invitation-only gallery and no-ropes structure is unlike anything else in the game of golf. Only tournament sponsors, invited guests and members of Albany, Isleworth, Lake Nona and Queenwood have the opportunity to stroll the fairways with golf’s most elite touring professionals. Tickets are not sold to the general public, and the gallery is limited to approximately 3,500 guests. The Tavistock Cup is broadcast live on the Golf Channel in the U.S., Canada and Japan. Sky Sports and other international affiliates also air the live broadcast through the United Kingdom, Latin America, Asia and South Africa. Tavistock Cup’s live coverage, re-airs and highlights reach nearly 100 million households in more than 200 countries worldwide. Through the commitment and generosity of Tavistock Cup patrons and sponsors, millions of dollars have been donated to local, national and international charitable organizations over the past eight years.

At the 2011 Tavistock Cup, Team Albany finished second amidst an all-star line-up of players. Ian Poutler took home lucky career win 13 at the Volvo World Match Play Championship in Spain by edging out Luke Donald. Justin Rose finished the season strong with a rain-soaked win at the BMW Championship at Cog Hill. With a great course to call home and some of the biggest PGA Tour players in the game, Team Albany looks forward to claiming their first World Golf and Country Club Championship title.

At the 2011Tavistock Cup, Team Isleworth stood ready to defend its home turf against three powerful global clubs. Following Round 1, Team Isleworth led by two strokes, but no one could stop Team Lake Nona’s dominance during Round 2. Stuart Appleby’s shot on Hole #11 earned him the closest-to-the-pin prize. Over the past year, Isleworth members have won four worldwide victories, including three on the Champions Tour. Team Isleworth looks to recharge in the offseason and take back the coveted Tavistock Cup trophy at Lake Nona.

Team Lake Nona captured its third consecutive win and fourth Tavistock Cup title at the 2011 tournament. Oliver Wilson posted a score of 7-under par 65, tying Isleworth’s competitive course record and claiming the Payne Stewart Salver Award during Round 2. This prestigious honor has also been won by Stuart Appleby, Tiger Woods, J.B. Holmes, Graeme McDowell and Nick O’Hern. Graeme McDowell took home the closest-to-the-pin prize on Hole #2. Lake Nona members claimed 14 worldwide victories, including two major championships, the Wegmans LPGA Championship and Ricoh Women’s British Open, both won by Yani Tseng. Gary Woodland posted his first PGA Tour win this year at Transitions Championship in Tampa. Team Lake Nona stands ready to defend its home turf and its World Golf and Country Club title at the 2012 Tavistock Cup.

Queenwood members had a record year claiming five worldwide victories during 2011, including a major championship win. In August, Adam Scott claimed his eighth PGA Tour victory at the World Golf Championship - Bridgestone Invitational. Darren Clarke took home his first major championship title at the 2011 British Open at Royal St. George’s, his second victory of the year following his win at the Iberdrola Open. Thomas Bjorn also posted two wins this year on the European Tour at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters and the Johnnie Walker Classic. Team Queenwood will come out fighting at this year’s World Golf and Country Club Championship and looks forward to carrying the trophy back across the pond for the first time.
