...La idea consistía en petar un par de fundas con tablas, -una con shapes clásicos y otra más rollo ‘performance’- con el fin de grabar un vídeo y acompañarlo con un puñao de fotos que documentasen todo el proceso.
El caso es que cuatro días antes de coger el avión, Sergio, el colega que se iba a encargar de grabar y fotear, se vio afectao por un problema de salud bastante heavy y no pudo volar. Por ese motivo, acabé viajando y solo y no me he traído una sola foto de surf. Así que, si lo que buscas son fotones de acción, ni te molestes... Si por el contrario te pica la curiosidad acerca de lo que ví en Senegal durante esos 15 días... ¡Bienvenid@!_

The idea of going to Senegal was to pack a couple of bags -one with classic boards and the other with some ‘performance’ stuffin order to film a video and bring back a bunch of ‘behind-the-scenes’ photos.
The fact is that four days before taking the plane, Sergio, my mate who was going to take care of recording and photograph, was affected by a way too heavy health issue and he could not fly. That’s the reason I went by myself and didn’t bring a single surf photo. So... If you’re looking for some rad action picts, don’t waste your time and close this. On the other hand, if you’d like to see an intime vision of Senegal, beyond waves... You’re welcome!_

Hablé de pobreza sin saber bien lo que era porque no basta con tenerla delante, hay que darle la espalda para ahondar en ella. Pobreza es tener que recurrir al agua de un charco o que la desesperación del hambre te obligue a masticar una rama. Pobreza es sentir estrés ante la pérdida de followers o que hacerse con el nuevo Iphone te quite el sueño. También es pobreza el hecho de no encontrar hueco para ir a ver a tu abuela o que haga más de dos semanas que no le preguntes a tus padres qué tal están: ‘Nangadef’. Es pobre el que ha sustituido a sus amigos por un montón de cosas superfluas o a quien el espejo le devuelve la imagen de un desconocido. Eres pobre cuando quieres muchas cosas, aunque las consigas. Eres es pobre cuando eres dueño de todo, menos de ti. Eres pobres cuando te lo crees todo y persigues algo que ni siquiera estabas buscando_

I talked about poverty even if I didn’t know anything about it. It’s not enough to have poverty in front of your eyes, you have to turn your back on it to realice... To feel forced to drink a puddle’s water or even chewing some piece of wood in order to kill your hungry and thirst. This is poverty. But poverty it’s also about a sad stress as a consequence of a decreasing number of followers. Poverty it’s about a stupid necessity of the newest Iphone and IT’s also about the fact that you don’t have a minute to visit your grandma. Poverty it’s about replacing friends & family for things -when was the last time you asked to your parentes: ‘nangadef’?. You’re a poor person when you desire too many things -even if you own them-. You’re a poor person when you control everything but you. You’re a poor person when you pursue something you didn’t even look for_
