LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Hello Friends! This has been another amazing month of service and leadership! We attended a bunch of service events such as Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, the Valley of the Moon Festival, the Tucson Buddy Walk, and many more. We also had some successful fundraisers at Scented Leaf and Sweet Lizard Froyo. In addition, we had a fun Halloween social where we decorated pumpkins and watched Halloween movies. Thank you to everyone who attended these events and made them so fun! In this edition of the newsletter we are going to revisit some past events, learn about volunteering events around Tucson for Thanksgiving, and also learn about some fun fall events happening around Tucson! Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving, and we will see you in December! Yours in Service, Sydney Yaeger 2015-2016 Bulletin Editor

Letter from the President Hey guys, It's been another great month in CKI! You guys have all been doing such an amazing job in the organization and it's great to see the awesome things you have done. Thank you so much for your participation and dedication to the club. It's really special to me to see your care for Circle K. It has been a blast working with you all and getting to know you better. We have had members sharing events with us and working really hard. We've even raised 700 dollars for UNICEF through our efforts in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. That is about 390 women and their children saved from Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus. You are all changing the world through your involvement in this club. Thank you so much for everything. I am so grateful for all that you have done. Yours in service, Michael Zimmerman

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF By Courtney Cummins UNICEF has been helping fund the ELIMINATE project in order to provide vaccines preventing maternal-neonatal tetanus across the globe. The Kiwanis family has been working closely with the ELIMINATE Project for the past 10 years, and 2015 is the last year that this project will be the main focus for Kiwanis. To end the project with a bang, our district goal was to raise $500 toward the ELIMINATE Project, and we sought out to do so through trick or treating, Michael's haunted house in Phoenix, and the weekly donations to our dear piggy bank Wilbur. In total, we were able to far surpass the district goal and raise $683.15 in just our club alone! Great job and a big thank you to everyone who contributed! Let's keep it up so that we can win our district wide competition. The club that raises the most money will get to cut off Governor Ava's hair at DCON!

Member of the Month: Chantel Leon! Congratulations to our Member of the Month for October: Chantel Leon! Chantel attended numerous events in October and always had a positive attitude!

Fundraiser: Lanyards! Don’t forget to buy a lanyard designed by our lovely treasurer, Courtney Cummins! They are $5 and the money goes to supporting our club so we can have more amazing events!

Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner If you are interested in volunteering with the Salvation Army this Thanksgiving, please email Daniela.Moreno@usw.salvationarmy.org or call 520-4485496 to find out how you can help!

Scented Leaf Fundraiser By Aubrey Renaker Recently our club held two Percentage Nights at Scented Leaf. Scented Leaf is an amazing little teahouse on University where you can get delicious, freshly brewed, loose-leaf tea! Everyone had a really fun time and we were able to raise lots of money for our club! Thank you to everyone that was able to come–U of A CKI appreciates all your support. Holding Percentage Nights like this one help our club be able to better serve the community. Without them, we wouldn't be able to do awesome events like Ronald McDonald House where you are asked to buy and bring food to cook, or hold fun socials! Again, thanks to everyone who was there– we'll see you at our next percentage night!
