THE RISE, FALL & RESURRECTION OF MANNY PACQUIAO http://www.chinkeetan.com/ was winning the earlier rounds but no one expected the next scenario, the unthinkable happened. Because of his lack of caution on the last second of the sixth round, Marquez was able to sneak in a counter punch that knocked out Manny Pacquiao. I can vividly recall how shocked the entire room was, it was really dead silent. Did we just witness our hero fell and never to rise to beat the count? That was the major blow TAN in the career of Manny and by CHINKEE it was even followed-up by a controversial lost to Timothy Bradley. Some boxing analyst even said, if Manny loses Millions of people around the another fight, “It is time for world rejoiced because of him to consider retiring.” the victory that was gallantly earned from Chris Algieri by THE RESURRECTION In my experience as a our national hero and pride motivational speaker, you can “Manny Pacquaio.” This was a fight that was never be successful without witnessed not only by Pinoys experiencing failure. Manny after a defeat.

This is also a great time to remember one of the greatest champions of mankind through the life of Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the Son of God had His own share of Rise, Fall and Resurrection. Allow me to refresh to your memory His story. His story begins when He was born in the lowliest place to Mary and Joseph. When an angel appeared to Mary and told her that she had in her womb the son of God. He was not born in a palace or in a hospital, it is because God wanted His son to equal to all; to the rich and most of all to the poor. Despite His standing, Jesus grew up humble and obedient. In His 30’s He did miracles; casting out demons, turning water into wine, making the lame walk, and making the dead come to life were just some of the things He has done to prove that He is indeed the Son of God. That was the RISE of his career since many followed and believed that He will be their King. Because of his ministry the pharisees despised Him, wanting Him hanged on the cross. The FALL of Jesus was through the hands of some of the people He helped; betraying Him and sold Him for some silver. If this never happened, then we are still in the bondage of sin. Many thought that was the end. Through it all, Jesus RESSURECTED. From the hardship He had suffered carrying the cross, lashings He got from the Roman soldiers, to the hanging in Golgotha, He endured everything because He love us all. The RESSURECTION shows that He is our champion. It is a promise that in time He will come back bringing to us this wonderful free gift, which is eternal life. Allow me to encourage you, let this be a reminder for anyone out there who is reading blog now. If you just suffered a tremendous set back and defeat in your life. Whether it maybe personal, emotional, mental, physical, financial or even spiritual. This is not the time for you to pack up and give up. This is the time for you to go back the drawing board and reflect; where did you go wrong. What can you learn from the mistakes of the past? What are the things that you need to change? How can you recover from this? How can you move on to become a better and a stronger person? Let not these momentary defeats stop you from achiev-

ing your dreams in life. But let us set our eyes on the ultimate goal and prize waiting for anyone who dares to get back up and fight back with everything that you have. Let us not allow negative people also dictate who we are. Manny did not listen to the people who are urging him to retire. Failures and defeats can stop you temporarily but, the only person who can stop you permanently is no other than “YOURSELF.” Never say die! Never give up! Keep on fighting! Keep on believing! THINK. REFLECT. APPLY. Have you experienced major setbacks and defeats in your life? Have you already given up? Maybe this is the time for you to get back up and reconsider to wear your old gloves again and get back to the ring. If Christ never gave up on us, who are we to give up?

...ITALPINAS from Page B1 and retail space requirements in these countries are quite substantial, especially the opportunity to “develop in secondary cities in the Philippines” as Arch. Romolo Valentino Nati, chairman and CEO of Italpinas and Philippine advocate remarked during his panel discussion. “Italpinas aims to build in alternative locations with a real housing demand and where a sustainable green modern design brings innovation and offers an affordable luxury and lifestyle to the upper middle-class of the Philippines,” Nati added. “The company’s flagship project, Primavera Residences, is the first of its kind in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, setting the bar for condominium projects in the area with its modern Italian design infused with eco-friendly architecture.” According to Mr. Alexander Karolik Shlaen, chairman of Panache Management in Singapore, “Asians love to invest in real estate assets as a form of security and further investments from HNWI from all over the world is driving residential real estate prices in Singapore and Hong Kong”. WealthX, a research agency of wealth generation and migration,

have shown research data that still only a small percentage of capital in the biggest financial markets is allocated to Asia (only a total of 2% from the US and almost the same from Europe). That means there is more to expect. Positive outlook for the region With ASEAN integration becoming a reality soon, the overall outlook is more than positive. Increased crossborder transactions are opening the gates more and more to secondary Asian financial markets like Indonesia and Philippines which still have a low number of listed companies and IPO’s, thereby offering interesting opportunities for foreign investors. UBS, one of Switzerland’s most important banks, as well as Citibank, have established a special desk for Russian and CIS investments in Singapore. According to statistic data, investment from Russia and other CIS states are increasing drastically. Many experts at the Summit agree upon, that “this is not even the beginning” and we may expect an increasing influx of investment capital in the region in the years to come. The organisers, also picking up on ideas that were shared during the event, are already planning the next summit to be even more interesting.

...BOOKS from Page B1 Ruffy Magbanua, who acted as emissary between the two institutions, reported that the first goodwill that Millersville University did was to donate a library full of college textbooks to Opol Community College. “In fact, the books came from a 20-foot container van. There were a total of 246 boxes inside the van costing around P500,000,” Magbanua said. The donation was facilitated through Millersville University’s head of endocrinology department Dr. James Consentino whose passion

extends beyond science and into literacy advocacy. It also served as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign of A. Brown Company where Magbanua also serves as its community relations manager. It was Consentino who initiated the non-profit Books for International Development program. According to Consentino, access to good quality contemporary textbooks is critical for education and professional development in all areas but college libraries anywhere in the world often lack a stock of suitable materials due to high costs of purchasing and shipping. Thus, the Books for International Development was started to collect good quality textbooks across all disciplines donated by libraries and private sector companies. The goal of this project is to provide university-level books to countries around the world. Donated books will be shipped to the recipient country through a large shipping container. Since 2003, at least 17 shipments have been sorted, packaged, shipped and delivered to libraries including ten countries in Africa and Asia. Meanwhile, Millersville University was founded over 150 years ago and is regarded today as one of the most highly respected public universities in Pennsylvania. Throughout its colorful history, it has produced quite a number of statewide prominent people and the institution itself has been awarded over a hundred times in various academic and non-academic feats. By contrast, Opol Community College is one of the youngest higher learning institutions in the Philippines. It opened only in 2013 by virtue of a municipal ordinance in Opol, Misamis Oriental. Operated by the local government of Opol, it is a self-reliant entity providing affordable quality education to produce highly competitive graduates in the fields of elementary education, business administration and secondary

AS 2014 slowly wraps up and 2015 begins to hug in, we will now look at all the blessings that we have received for the past 12 months. That is why the last weeks of 2014 are dedicated with lots of celebrations. Thanksgiving has been an annual event in the United States, which originated when colonizers and colonized alike jointly reveled over their first harvest together somewhere in Massachusetts. After Thanksgiving comes Black Friday where people flock to the malls to take advantage of various products on discounted prices. By Sunday, Catholics will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent. And it will be a whole month of

Christmas festivities that will culminate with the Sto. Niño fiesta this January. Of course, Catholic parishes and schools will also celebrate the Immaculate Conception feast by December 8. That means that its novena will start on November 29. So by November 30, there will be two overlapping holidays to be commemorated by the Church – the season of Advent and the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Because the church at Xavier University is named after the Immaculate Conception, then it also means that Xavier Festival Days are held within the timeframe. It will kick off with the launching of Pope Francis’ photo standee

by 3:30 p.m. of December 3 at the XU Main Lane. Then the opening mass will commence followed by the launching of the Belen and Christmas tree contest. Making more things exciting and complex will be the heralding of the Mindanao Week of Peace on the same dates. It will start tomorrow with a Walk for Peace at Rodelsa Circle at around 5:30 in the morning. For the next seven days after that, a string of activities will follow suit. And then on December 1 will be World AIDS Day. There’s gonna be a fashion show at Limketkai Mall, there’s gonna be a premiere of a movie about AIDS created by TCM

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18) - Your out-of-the box strategy for success may not be as effective as you think today. Instead of drawing attention to what makes you different, surprise everyone by demonstrating your ability to collaborate in a conventional manner. PISCES (February 19 – March 20) - If you are shouldering an emotional burden, you have a rare chance to finally release whatever is bothering you now. It’s just not worth holding on to all your imagined worries that are based upon painful failures or old hurts. ARIES (March 21 – April 19) - Although you may decide to suppress your desires now, it’s only because you realize that sharing them could create more problems. You have a good sense of what is real and you are moved to talk your walk today. You might not be sure how to proceed, but this isn’t a valid reason for inaction. TAURUS (April 20 – May 20) - You wish that all your relationship dreams could come true, but this may not be possible now. Fortunately, you can still be happy with your current lot in life since you prefer knowing the unvarnished truth than wandering around lost in a fantasy.

Daily HOROSCOPE CANCER (June 22 – July 22) - If you find yourself stuck in an emotional funk today, you might believe there’s no easy way out. Your current situation could be bothering you enough now that it is apparent to everyone around you. There’s no need to pretend when it comes to your inner process. LEO (July 23 – August 22) - An intense wave of self-awareness washes over you today, but the results are uncharacteristically sobering. It’s not that you have lost your legendary confidence; it’s just that you’re not feeling very lighthearted now. Your natural tendency is to downplay negativity, but that could just make things worse.

Special Gospel of the day: Luke6:1216(November25, 2014-Wednesday) Luke 6:12-16-It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God. And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as apostles: Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew; and Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alpheus, and Simon who was called the Zealot; Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor: Do you experience praying in solitude? Yes of course, there are many of us doing it at the adoration chapel and in the church. What is the reason behind this kind of prayer in quiet atmosphere? Listening to God is necessary and it is only possible if you are in a solemn area with Him. Take note, our conscience which is the little voice of God can be heard only if we close our mouth. Either way, you may wish you took a different route as your key planet Mercury bumps into Saturn’s finality. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21) - You may be secretly struggling against the lessons that taskmaster Saturn is teaching you now. Apple Store designer visits CDO MULTI-awarded designer Tim Kobe—lauded for transforming the retail landscape through his work on the iconic Apple Store in New York City—has arrived in the Philippines to visit the revolutionary “Generation 3” stores that he especially redesigned for leading telecommunications company Globe Telecom. Globe tapped Tim Kobe in remodeling its stores to set the standard for store design and telecoms retail experience in the Philippines and in the world. Tim Kobe is the CEO and founder of Eight Inc., a strategic design firm with offices in San Francisco, New York, Honolulu, Tokyo, London, Singapore, and Beijing. The "8 design human experience”—which hints at the Generation 3 store promise— states that "we design meaningful experiences. Experiences with emotion and purpose that change the way people think, feel, and do." A graduate of Environmental Design from Art Center College of Design, Kobe began his career working as a designer

for The Burdick Group, a design firm based in in San Francisco California, In 1987, Kobe became a founding partner in West Office Design Associates, focusing on museum and exhibition design for several science museum exhibitions in the US and Hong Kong. Years later, Kobe founded the globally recognized strategic design firm Eight Inc. At Eight Inc., Kobe worked with numerous brands in the retail and commercial space including Apple, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Nike, Coke, Knoll and Citibank, among others. Beyond his duties at Eight Inc., Kobe is also trustee at Art Center College of Design and currently serving as Chairman of the Academic Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Grabhorn Institute in San Francisco California. Together with Kobe, Globe is set to revolutionize customer experience through a highly engaging retail concept that reimagines the digital lifestyles of Filipinos. The new stores will feature inter-

active lifestyle vignettes that will showcase numerous products within interesting displays that are relevant to customers. The installations are flexible and reconfigurable enabling the store to transform, keeping the environment always fresh and giving customers a reason to return.

As Globe Telecom makes way for Kobe’s retail concept, it has closed down two of its biggest stores in SM North Edsa and Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro. The two stores will reopen in December 2014 promising a groundbreaking experience for its customers.

Prior to opening, the stores will feature themed surprises – Arts, Community, and Technology. Globe has commissioned a number of local artists to turn these stores into live art galleries that showcase murals exhibiting the vision Globe Telecom and Kobe’s Eight Inc. have for its upcoming Generation 3 stores. For weeks now, local artists have treated Globe customers and retail onlookers to live art performances at their stores in SM North EDSA in Manila and Limketkai Mall in Cagayan De Oro. Art enthusiasts and followers on social media have been keeping tabs through #Gen3nextACT on Twitter and photos uploaded on Facebook since the art event began lastSeptember 25.
