Come celebrate the ministry of Canon Wallace Marsh this Sunday, May 20 during the 10 a.m. hour at a reception in Child Hall! Wallace has served wonderfully these past 5 years, overseeing the areas of congregational life, worship, and pastoral care. This summer he and his family will move to Thomasville, Georgia, as his wife Margaret Ann transitions into a new position as Vice President for Environmental and Sustainability at Flowers Foods. The move will also allow the Marshes to be closer to family and for Wallace to pursue a new calling as high school teacher and coach. Thank you for your faithful service, Wallace Marsh!

Later this Sunday, celebrate the ministry of David Fishburn at a reception in Child Hall at 5:30 p.m! David has served faithfully at the Cathedral for 32 years, and he will retire later this summer. He will remain a Cathedral parishioner and, for his gracious work in this holy parish, we will bestow upon him the title Organist Emeritus! Retirement will afford David the opportunity to travel more, both to Pennsylvania to see family and abroad to explore the world. Thank you, David Fishburn!

MUSIC FORMER CATHEDRAL CANON TO PERFORM SUNDAY This Sunday, May 20, the Cathedral welcomes organist and former Canon for Music Bruce Neswick as our afternoon recitalist at 3:15 p.m. Currently service as Canon for Music at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, Oregon, Bruce will perform works by Bach, Howells, and Larry King. We are thrilled to have Bruce back again and encourage everyone to take this opportunity to hear once more one of the leading organists of his generation.

Sunday ADULT EDUCATION Sundays this summer, join Canons Cathy Zappa and Lauren Holder as we engage in Faithful Conversations. Each week, we will invite a member of our community to sit down with us and talk with us about faith and society in a real and personal way. Our hope is that the courage our conversation partners bring to our discussions will equip us to go “out into the world to do the work God has given us to do.” Complementing this class will be a series of service opportunities—stay tuned! OUTREACH MARCH 21 LABYRINTH WALK AND TAIZÉ Get your week off to a peaceful start with a labyrinth walk and Taizé service this Monday, March 21. A labyrinth introduction will take place in Child Hall at 6:30 p.m., followed by a facilitated walk 7-8 p.m. Then, the Taizé prayer service starts at 8 p.m. in Mikell Chapel. Originating in Taizé, France, this simple service of scripture, music and candlelight will bring a beautiful and prayerful close to your Monday. The labyrinth and Taizé take place every third Monday of the month at the Cathedral. Come to one, or both – and bring a friend!
CHILDREN'S Ministries WEEK OF WONDER REGISTRATION NOW OPEN June 11–15, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Children 3 (by September 1, 2017) through rising 5th graders Along the river, children discover that life with God is an adventure full of wonder and surprise, and that they can trust God to be with them through anything. Whether it’s in art, music, outdoor play, Godly Play, or discovery and science, we will find God’s grace.

CHILDREN'S Music SUMMER MUSIKGARTEN/ALLEGRO MUSIC CLASSES Looking for fun family activities this summer? Join one of our Allegro music classes. Using a unique Musikgarten curriculum designed for families with children of mixed ages, “My Musical World” addresses early childhood developmental processes through music and movement activities. Music immerses the child in language, evokes movement, stimulates the brain, and fosters physical coordination - all in a group setting that builds community. It’s a truly holistic experience, and it’s great fun, too! Not sure what we do in our Musikgarten classes? Come join us for free demonstration classes on May 29 and 30 at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Bring lots of friends and experience the fun of music! Then register for classes that begin in June. Who: Open to children from birth through age 5. Older siblings welcome to attend as guests. Caregiver attends with the child/ children up to age 3. Cathedral PRESCHOOL PRESCHOOL TEACHER OPPORTUNITIES For almost half a century, the Cathedral Preschool has been a leader in early childhood education in the city of Atlanta. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and join us Wednesday evenings on the Lanier House Lawn for an old-fashioned community picnic. Feel free to bring your own food and beverage or enjoy something from one of our vendors. Options include market favorites and our own food booth “Hot Diggity Dogs,” which offers a variety of kid friendly meals. Hot dogs are $2 each and come with a glass of lemonade. Spring hours are 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Enjoy a weekend full of spirituality and fellowship with other Cathedral parishioners and clergy. Kanuga is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and experience God with the beloved community. The weekend includes old favorites such as s'mores, hiking, rocking on the porch, ice cream, bluegrass and, of course, the famous Kanuga toast. We will offer an adult program on Saturday morning and enjoy worshiping together in the informal chapel on Sunday. Meals are served family-style in the lodge and accommodations are available in historic cottages or the hotel-style inn.
