GROW Confirmation Confirmation at St. Luke's is a spiritual formation journey for students in grades 8-12. St. Luke's encourages all eighth grade students to register. Learn about different religions and what makes Christianity, and in particular Methodism, unique through group presentations, small group discussion, guest speakers, a retreat, and visiting places of worship. After classes are completed, students may choose to be confirmed as full members of The United Methodist Church. Classes will meet Sundays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. starting August 28. Project Connect Classes Learn about Christian theology, United Methodist heritage, and what it means to be a St. Luker. Meet weekly from Sunday, August 28 through November 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. No class September 4. Prayer Walk Join our prayer team Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:00 a.m. in front of the Building C Coleman Memorial Gymnasium.

Children’s Ministries Stop by the Welcome Window on the first floor of Building B on Sunday mornings to check-in children. Infants, toddlers, and preschool children are in the “Surf Shack” learning about God’s love. Elementary aged children worship with families TODAY. There are combined Elementary Sunday School classes on August 7 and 14. Sunday School kick-off is September 11. SERVE The Magical Land of Oz The East Winter Garden Neighborhood Alliance presents "The Magical Land of Oz" based on the hit musical "The Wiz” on Saturday, August 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Maxey Community Center (830 Klondike Ave, Winter Garden, FL 34787). Enjoy a musical production featuring the talented children of East Winter Garden. The timeless “Wizard of Oz” tale has been adapted into a musical following lovable characters on a journey to meet the great Oz. Backpack Tags Available TODAY St. Luke’s works with Orange County Social Workers to provide backpacks to families in need. We are partnering with S.T.A.R.S of West Orange County (Supplies To Assist ouR Students) to provide supplies for almost 800 students. Pick up a Backpack tag outside the Sanctuary TODAY. Please return donations by August 7.

Donations for November 12 Holiday Bazaar Donations of items for floral arrangements, true antique crystal, silver or china, shabby chic items, Christmas decor, fall greenery, jewelry for the boutique, girls party dresses, and gift cards for the "giving tree" are needed. Back to School Prayer Gathering Come and pray for the success and safety of all of our OCPS schools at a special prayer gathering on August 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the St. Luke’s Sanctuary. We have invited our three partner Title One schools and the schools in area surrounding St. Luke’s to join us.

Congregational Care Ministers (CCM) Needed Volunteers partner with clergy to provide follow up visits and care to hospitalized St. Lukers. Time commitment is three to four hours per week. Buddy Break Volunteers Needed This Care ministry serving families with children/teens with special needs is seeking volunteer “buddies.” Visit st.lukes.org/buddybreak for schedule. With safety in mind, all those visiting the St. Luke’s campus during regular business hours (M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) will need to check in at the reception office in Building C. For your safety, please remember to remove all valuables from your car, ensuring nothing is left in plain sight.
