Dr. Savitt and Dr. Ly specialize in the surgical treatment of heart and lung disease. “We welcome the level of experience, vision, and leadership Dr. Savitt brings to our cardiothoracic program,” says Albert Gutierrez, SJRMC president and chief executive officer. “Paired together with Dr. Ly, he enables us to now offer our patients two of the most highly trained cardiothoracic surgeons this community has ever seen.” Dr. Savitt comes to SJRMC from Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, where he was surgical program director of the lung transplant division and cardiothoracic surgeon of Aurora Medical Group. An advanced researcher, prolific author, and sought-after speaker, Dr. Savitt has written more than 40 published articles and abstracts on heart and lung diseases, diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and transplantation. Dr. Ly joins our team from the Samaritan Heart and Vascular Institute in Corvallis, Ore. In addition to his extensive residency training, Dr. Ly completed a prestigious advanced cardiac surgery fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, with a focus on valvular heart disease.
