Thinking Outside The Xbox

john mcentire There is little to a man more sacred than his personal space, and the backyard tops the list. It’s where the grill is; it’s where we left the car restoration project we’re getting around to; it’s where the drinks don’t count against the limit set inside. It just may be the best space to go when you need a reprieve from the house. Take your haven to the next level with a few new amenities.

1. Karoo by Joe Ginsberg Design—A proper, utilitarian outdoor table is often overlooked, despite its sheer necessity. Where else are you going to put that drink or that ashtray or that steadily growing stash of junk your friends keep leaving? Inside? I don’t think so.

2. Cylinder Tire Box from Hipcycle—Sometimes stuff is important. One day something in that stuff pile will be useful. Better keep it handy. It’s too bad your wife cleared out the rusty can and put that stuff in a Tupperware. Give your collection the home it deserves, which also doubles nicely as a discrete beer holster. 3. Recycled Can Pop Culture Icons, shown Yoshi, by Macaon—Replace Grandma’s garden hand-me-downs with a little of your own flair. 4. Vintage Mortar Shell Tailpiece Trench Art Ashtray from Relique—Have you ever smashed your cigar ember out on a bomb? Me either, but I would wager it is in fact entirely as satisfying as I imagine it to be.
