john mcentire Ringing in the New Year is a complicated affair. Much like any other holiday, it bears a series of traditions to uphold—black-eyed peas, kisses at midnight, resolutions. The list goes on, but the one difference between this and the rest of the named days is the troubling superstition that New Year’s traditions carry a bad luck curse if neglected. If navigated successfully, you can kick up your feet and start fresh. There is no reason why your hibernation hole shouldn’t reflect the new you. We all need a change of scenery every now and then. Spruce it up with some clean modern lines that will erase any evidence suggesting you’re still clinging to your old ways.

1. Maze Coffee Table Salvaged Mango Wood by Rotsen Furniture - While your friends might not get lost in it, the Maze Table will certainly hold the attention of the room. No centerpiece needed. 2. Moso Lamp Endgrain by Schmitt Design from Branch Home - When the weather outside is frightful, all you need is a good light fixture and you can forget there even is an outside. 3. Custom Sink and Cabinet by Shift Build - Sure, you could wash your hands and brush your teeth, but you resolved to be more social this year, right? Perfect wet bar. 4. Elmwood Modular Shelf from VivaTerra Modern with the visual comfort of vintage— quite a few notches up from the wire frames you’ve never bothered to get rid of.
