The Dance Space Studio Hire We are looking forward to revealing our three state of the art studios – including a production space – opening as part of The Dance Space in summer 2020. Community Studio
This studio will host a diverse programme of year-round activities and events, where people of all ages and abilities can explore dance in its various forms and to rehearse, create, socialise and get fit. Studio Info Dimensions: 10m x 9.17m x 4.8m high. There will be a Junkers sprung dance floor, a harlequin overlay, mirrors and a sound system. The capacity is approximately 20-25 dancing.
Research Studio
This will be a space where artists can take risks and try out new ideas. This might include residencies, one-off rehearsals or time to explore your creative practice. Studio Info Dimensions: 10m x 9.05m x 4.8m high. There will be a Junkers sprung dance floor, a harlequin overlay, mirrors and a sound system. The capacity is approximately 20-25 dancing.
Creation Studio
This is a double-height, large fully equipped studio where dance artists and choreographers will be able to make, produce and share new work and test it publicly. As a performance space it will be able to host shows by professional artists and local communities. Studio Info Dimensions: 11m x 17m x 6.6m high when retractable seating is rolled away. When seating is out, the playing space will be approx. 11m x 11m x 6.6m high. There will be a Junkers sprung dance floor and a harlequin overlay. The space will have a mid scale lighting rig, retractable seating (seats approx. 130) and a sound system. The capacity is approximately 40 dancing. *There will be a 3 hour minimum booking for the Research and Creation Studios All studio bookings will be subject to availability and subsequent acceptance by the programming team in line with South East Dance’s vision/mission and programming policy.
