# never quit learning has officially been adopted by the SouthArk Division of Continuing Education for the year of 2014. It initially serves as a common theme; an idea that each and every one of us are working to promote. However, #NeverQuitLearning is so much more than that. It is a reminder to all of us that we get one chance to be and do all that we can. What better way to spend that one chance than taking advantage of opportunities to further our own knowledge and perhaps, somewhere along the way, helping others further theirs? So we, advocates of continued education at South Arkansas Community College, challenge you to be the best you that you can be. If you want to learn a new hobby- do it. If you want to earn that GED you never had the opportunity to earn - do it. If you want to return to school for that degree you’ve always wanted- do it. If you want to switch career fields to feel more fulfilled - do it. Do what it is that makes you happy but, please, whatever you do

Asteroids and Comets: Ancient Relics of the Solar System Presented by Darrell Heath, President of the Central Arkansas Astronomical Society Wednesday, March 19 12:15-1:00 p.m.

Enjoy a nostalgic lunch hour highlighting one of El Dorado’s long-time jewels: The Spudnut Shop. Secondgeneration shop owners, Nancy and William Varnell, will take you back in time as they cover the history of how they grew the shop to be the El Dorado favorite we know it as today.

Asteroids and Comets are the residual building blocks that went into the making of the solar system and can tell as much about how the sun’s neighborhood came to be. Some of these fragments of rock and ice also pose a hazard for life on our planet. This talk will focus on the nature of these objects: what they are, where they come from, and how we might be able to avert disaster should one be headed our way.

Join us as David and Sylvia Reddin, owners of Suzanne’s Fruit Farm in Hampton, Arkansas, cover their farm’s history from 1975 to present-day. The program is sponsored by the American Association of Community Colleges . It’s a program that works. Eighty-nine percent of students participating in AACC’s Plus 50 Initiative told an independent evaluator that college workforce training helped them acquire new job skills, and 72 percent attributed landing a job to such training.
