UNWTO has dragged the countries into pessimism with the statement “the number of tourists can drop by 80%” as Covid-19 has become a tourist scourge in the world from the first months of the year. Fortunately, from mid-June, countries have started domestic and international flights. & In this issue, we tried to choose our news among those Suat Töre that gave hope. We present Turkey’s most prestigious resorts starting from the Aegean region to the Mediterranean Sea in English. Our Turkish edition destination article is Wild West California. We wanted to keep our memories of 2007 alive by putting an old California article in this issue. We wish you healthy and beautiful summer holidays.

Turkey news WTTC: Travel & Tourism Sector will be Critical to Powering Turkey’s Economic Recovery A major new report has revealed Turkey continued its strong bounce back in 2019, and that its Travel & Tourism sector will be vital to the country’s economic recovery. The publication by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), which represents the global Travel & Tourism private sector, of its annual Economic Impact Report (EIR), shows how vital a part the sector played in driving the Turkish economy. According to the 2020 EIR, during 2019, Travel & Tourism supported more than 2.6 million jobs, or nearly a tenth (9.4%) of the country’s total workforce. It also generated nearly TRY 482BN to GDP, or 11.3% to the Turkish economy, growing by a robust 10.1% from the previous year, outpacing the growth of the overall economy for the third consecutive year.The comprehensive report shows this growth significantly outpaced the overall GDP growth in 2019 of just 0.1% in the same year. The WTTC EIR report also showed international visitor spend totaled a staggering TRY235BN, representing 17.5% of Turkey’s total exports. Gloria Guevara, President & CEO, said: “WTTC’s 2020 Economic Impact Report (EIR) shows how incredibly important the Travel & Tourism sector was last year to the Turkish economy, supporting over 2.6 million jobs equating to 9.4% of the total number of people employed.
“Strong growth in 2019 followed significant investment across the country, the new €250m international terminal at Dalaman Airport, and as shown in the WTTC 2019 Cities research, Antalya and Istanbul were named two of the fastest growing cities in the world last year. 6 New Focus | July / August 2020
“Our analysis underscores how vital the Travel & Tourism sector is to the Turkish economy and the important role it will play in kick starting the recovery, generating new jobs and driving visitors back to the country. It will have a positive economic domino effect on suppliers large and small throughout this fast-growing industry. Until then, it is crucial that all governments help to protect this sector – the backbone of the global economy – which is currently in a fight for survival, with up to 100 million jobs globally at immediate risk.” WTTC’s EIR revealed that, between 2016 and 2018, Germany and Russia each accounted for 10% of all visitors to Turkey, with Georgia reaching 6%, and Iran and Bulgaria level pegging at 5%. The report also showed Turkey relies heavily on both leisure and international spend, with leisure spend exceeding business by six to one, accounting for 86%, and international spend accounted for 64% compared to 36% domestic. Turkey’s Tourist Arrivals Dropped 99pct in May 2020 Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Ministry announced tourist arrival figures for May 2020. Due to the pandemic, the number of foreigners visiting the country dropped by a record - 99.26 percent in May when compared to the same month last year. Only 29 thousand foreign travelers visited Turkey in May 2020 and 4.2 million in the first five months of the year.

Turkey news Istanbul was the top destination for tourists, hosting 54.86% of all visitorsaround 2.3 million. The northwestern city of Edirne came in second place with 13.27% or nearly 570,000 foreign visitors in the same period. And the Mediterranean resort city of Antalya received the third-highest number of foreigners, with about 432,000 during the first five months. 2021 UEFA Champions League Final to be Played in Istanbul The UEFA Executive Committee yesterday announced that Istanbul, which was originally appointed to stage 2020 final, will now host the 2021 UEFA Champions League Final. The Hotel Association of Turkey TÜROB Chairman Müberra Eresin stated that they welcomed 2021 final to be held in Istanbul with an audience. Emphasizing that many accommodation facilities in Istanbul received prepayment for the guests coming to Istanbul for the 2020 Champions League Final, Eresin noted that with UEFA’s final decision, the refund of these payments will not be obligatory. Eresin stated that the advances received will be deducted for the 2021 Champions League Final. Ms. Eresin said, “It was on the agenda that the 2020 final will be held in Istanbul without an audience. With the support of the Turkish Football Federation, we indicated our preference to host the final game in 2021 and with spectators. We expect to welcome 50-60 thousand international spectators to Istanbul for the 2021 Champions League Final.” The 2019-2020 Champions League, suspended since March because of the coronavirus pandemic, will be completed as a straight knockout tournament in Lisbon, Portugal in August. Quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be single-leg fixtures. The games will be split between Benfica’s Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica (which will host the final) and Sporting CP’s Estádio José Alvalade. A decision is pending on whether the remaining round of 16 second legs will take place at the home team’s stadium or in Portugal. The Estádio do Dragão in Porto and the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimarães will host the four outstanding second legs if required. The 2019/20 UEFA Champions League has been on hold since Wednesday 11 March due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Turkey news TAV Acquires Almaty Airport TAV Airports signed a share purchase agreement to buy Almaty Airport, the main gateway of Kazakhstan. It marks the 15th airport in TAV’s global network. A member of Groupe ADP, TAV Airports signed a share purchase agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Almaty Airport, together with its consortium partner VPE Capital. The agreement comprises the acquisition of the airport and associated businesses for 415 million USD. TAV Airports’ share in the consortium will be no less than 75% and the share transfers will take place upon closing with the completion of all legal prerequisites and procedures. Located in the southeast of the country and an important stop on the ancient Silk Road, today Almaty is a strategical junction along the “One Belt One Road” project, connecting China-Central to West Asia. Kazakhstan leads Central Asia in economic growth and generates roughly 60% of the region’s GDP. TAV Airports President&CEO Sani Şener said “We’re happy to add Almaty Airport, which is a main transit hub between Asia and Europe, to our portfolio. Almaty is strategically located on ‘the modern Silk Road’, established from China to Europe and Africa through air transport. Kazakhstan is the largest country in the region -both geographically and economically- and Almaty is the largest city in the country controlling 20% of Kazakhstan’s GDP. We believe there’s a significant potential for growth in Almaty Airport, and drawing upon our extensive know-how, we’ll work towards realizing this potential to the fullest.” The base of the flag carrier Air Astana, Almaty Airport served 6.4 million passengers in 2019, with a 13% increase compared to the previous year. Bek Air, SCAT Airlines and Qazak Air also use Almaty as their base. In 2018 the airport served 58K cargo (70% of all cargo in Kazakhstan) with substantial increase potential. La Quinta by Wyndham Opens Two New Hotels Wyndham Hotels & Resorts announced two new hotels in Turkey. The new hotels are the 86-room La Quinta by Wyndham Giresun and the 175room, La Quinta by Wyndham Bodrum. world news UNWTO’s Global Guidelines to Reopen Tourism The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has released a set of guidelines to help tourism sector emerge stronger and more sustainably from COVID-19. The guidelines were produced in consultation with the Global Tourism Crisis Committee and aim to support governments and private sector to recover from an unparalleled crisis. Depending on when travel restrictions are lifted, the United Nations specialized agency warns that international tourist arrivals could fall by between 60% and 80%. This puts 100-120 million jobs at risk and could lead to US$ 910 billion to US$ 1.2 trillion lost in exports. UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili said: “These guidelines provide both governments and businesses with a comprehensive set of measures designed to help them open tourism up again in a safe, seamless and responsible manner. They are the product of the enhanced cooperation that has characterized tourism’s response to this shared challenge, building on knowledge and inputs from across the public and private sectors and from several UN agencies as part of the UN’s wider response.” The new guide, a follow up of the Recommendations for Action already endorsed by the Committee, is focused on seven priorities for tourism recovery based on the pillars of mitigating the economic impact, developing safety protocols and coordinated responds and fostering innovation. The guidelines highlight the importance of restoring the confidence of the travelers through safety and security protocols designed to reduce risks in each step of the tourism value chain. These protocols include the implementation of check procedures where appropriate, including temperature scans, testing, physical distancing, enhanced frequency of cleaning and the provision of hygiene kits for safe air travel, hospitality services or safe events. The UNWTO Guidelines also highlight the opportunity to foster a digital transformation of destinations, companies and employees with initiatives such as the free online training with the UNWTO Online Academy and the implementation of apps such as the Hi Card to improve international interoperability at the airports and hotels. The role of technology in promoting social distancing in hotels and tourist destinations is also highlighted. 14 New Focus | July / August 2020
world news Destinations Signed up for WTTC’s Global Safety and Hygiene Stamp Major destinations around the world from Bulgaria to Turkey and Jamaica to Mauritius have signed up to the world’s first-ever global safety and hygiene stamp, launched recently by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). The extensive endorsements have come from many major holiday destinations around the world. WTTC, which represents the global Travel & Tourism private sector, designed the special Safe Travels stamp to enable travellers to identify destinations and businesses around the world which adopted its health and hygiene global standardised protocols – so consumers and holidaymakers can experience ‘Safe Travels’. The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) also embraced the WTTC Safe Travels stamp, which have the safety and hygiene of travellers as their top priority. Gloria Guevara, WTTC President & CEO, said: “The number of global destinations adopting our private sector protocols is growing at a rapid pace and it’s hugely gratifying and shows the success and importance of the WTTC Safe Travels stamp. “As WTTC health and hygiene protocols, affecting hotels, restaurants, airports, cruise lines, tour operators, restaurants, outdoor shopping and transportation are implemented, so the list of destinations recognising the new stamp also continues to grow. Since the launch of the Safe Travels stamp, Turkey, Bulgaria, Jamaica, Mauritius, Ontario (Canada), Portugal, Saudi Arabia and the Mexican destinations of Baja California Sur and Yucatan, have now adopted WTTC’s new protocols. Popular city destinations for holidaymakers which have also been given the WTTC Safe Travels stamp of approval include Barcelona, Cancun, Madrid and Seville. Bulgaria has always been an attractive tourism destination and we will continue to welcome tourists with the same hospitality and warmth. “ WTTC: More Than 197m Travel & Tourism Jobs at Risk More than 197 million jobs could be lost in the global Travel & Tourism sector if barriers to global travel, such as blanket anti-travel advisories and quarantine measures remain in place, according to new research from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). The devastating figure comes from WTTC economic modelling, which looks at the impact faced by the Travel & Tourism sector amid local and global travel restrictions as a result of COVID-19. In the worst-case scenario, where restrictions were lifted after the summer, the impact would be more significant, putting a total of 197.5m million jobs at risk. This represents an alarming 96 percent rise from the most recent 100.8 million jobs WTTC had previously estimated to be under threat from the coronavirus pandemic. The research shows that if these travel restrictions were removed sooner, it could save a staggering 99.3m jobs. The impact of prolonged travel restrictions could also wipe out $5,543 billion in the sector’s contribution to global GDP, equating to a 62% percent drop compared with 2019. Meanwhile, in the worst-case scenario, global international arrivals will suffer a sharp decline of 73% and 64% for domestic arrivals. world news Thailand Launches Certification Scheme for Tourism Establishments Thailand’s tourism and health authorities have teamed up to launch a unique certification scheme aimed to prepare the Thai tourism industry for the recovery period and enhance confidence amongst international and domestic tourists. The “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration: SHA” project was launched at a press conference “Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration: (SHA)” at The Athenee Hotel, Bangkok. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakan, Minister of Tourism and Sports, said, “The Covid-19 virus spread quickly and widely to many countries around the world, infecting and killing many people. Currently, Thailand has been able to control the spread of the disease thanks to the quick action taken by the Royal Thai Government and the whole-hearted support of the general public. Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said, “Ensuring high health and safety standards will be one of the key criteria for Thai tourism to establish its competitive advantage in the recovery period. The desire to travel will remain strong, but when it actually comes to the decision-making time, visitors will opt for those destinations where they feel confident about their personal safety.” The Governor said that all applying establishments will undergo strict inspection and be assigned the SHA logo as a mark of quality certification of the service standards of that establishment. The logo will be issued by TAT and have a validity period of two years. All the names of the accredited establishments will be entered into a database. If any violations are reported, the logo will be revoked. Ten types of business can request the SHA standard as follows: 1. Restaurants / food outlets 2. Hotel / accommodation and convention centres 3. Recreation and tourist attractions 4. Tourist transport vehicle 5. Travel agents / tour operators 6. Health and beauty parlours 7. Spanish Government Announces 4.2 Billion Euros Tourism Support Package COVID-19 hit Spain hard, bringing tourism to a near-standstill. Now, under Spanish President Pedro Sánchez’s leadership, the government is working to restart tourism, providing a lifeline for the millions of people across Spain who depend on the sector for their livelihoods. The government has announced will soon open its borders to tourists from within the European Union. At the same time, the Spanish government has announced a support package worth 4.2 billion Euros for tourism, a sector that supports millions of jobs across the country. More than half of the stimulus plan will come in the form of low-interest government loans, but the stimulus also includes hundreds of millions for tourism marketing, hygiene measures and sustainability. The government will then help companies by suspending mortgage payments for up to 12 months and will grant a series of aid to pay for increased health safety measures and training for workers. Airlines will also be given major discounts on the cost of landing at Spanish airports, according to Reuters. Tourism makes up around 12% of Spain’s GDP. In 2019, the country hosted 83.7 million international visitors. EBRD and UNWTO To Boost Recovery of The Tourism Sector The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) are joining forces to boost the recovery of the tourism sector across the 38 economies where the Bank invests. According to analysis by UNWTO, all worldwide destinations introduced restrictions on travel in response to Covid-19 an unprecedented act. While some destinations are starting to ease restrictions, the crisis is far from over and this lockdown has led to a massive fall in international tourist arrivals. In light of such unprecedented events, the EBRD and UNWTO have agreed to take immediate action to facilitate the recovery of tourism. The support is currently envisaged for a number of countries, including Albania, Armenia, Croatia, Egypt, Georgia, Greece, Jordan, Lebanon, Montenegro, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Many hotels were knocked down, visitors are only allowed on major paths around the sites, and must remove footwear to stand on the calcium deposits. This seems to have been a successful move, as the water supply is now used for preservation and some of the damaged calcium deposits have been strengthened. Ortakent and Yahsi Ortakent & Yahsi is the next bay to Bitez following the peninsula round to the west and just 13 km from Bodrum.. There is a very long and sandy beach which is popular with families. There are several beach side cafes providing inexpensive meals and snacks throughout the day. There is also camping space. The village of , which means ‘Midtown straddles the main Bodrum-Turgutreis road. The village is unremarkable except for the distinctive 17th century ‘tower houses’ unique to the area and built for defensive purposes. In the early spring the village hosts an annual camel wrestling festival. Turgutreis 18 km from Bodrum and named after the famous Ottoman admiral Turgut Reis. It is a small town in its own right and combines a compact town center with several beaches and all amenities for tourists. An ideal surfing place. Regular buses connect Turgutreis with Bodrum, and in high season coaches for Istanbul and Ankara leave from the Turgutreis bus station. Kadikalesi Kadikalesi is next to Turgutreis and offers some of the finest holiday resorts. Gündogan Only a few minutes West of Yalikavak a place that can be really called peaceful. The simple charm of the village has survived the influx of tourism. Rabbits are raised on the island at the end of the causeway a short paddle away. There are many seaside fish restaurants. A tranquil village. This is the ideal spot for peace and quiet, with the added advantage of many excellent fish restaurants along the small waterfront, where you can sit comfortably next to the gently lapping sea. Yalikavak 18 km from Bodrum, small but developed town, busy center and a harbour where visiting yachts and fishing boats moor cheerfully together and offers everything required. Koycegiz and Fethiye The small town of Köyceğiz, 75 km southwest of Marmaris is a quiet refuge set on a broad, placid lake. The ambience here is unlike that of any other Turkish Mediterranean tourist town. The lake is the source of the Dalyan Creek which runs through nearby Dalyan to the south, past the ruins of ancient Caunos, through the fishing weirs and into the Mediterranean. Fethiye rests on a broad Mediterranean bay boasting some of Turkey’s best beaches and yachting. Plenty of hotels provide a place to stay, and Dalaman Airport makes access fairly easy. The wide swath of Çalış Beach, several kilometers long, is only 5 km northeast of Fethiye (maps). Ölüdeniz, perhaps Turkey’s most beautifully situated beach, is 8.5 km south of Fethiye, over the hills. Besides the beach, visitors like the day long 12 Island yacht cruise of the bay, especially the stop at Gemile Island, covered in unrestored Byzantine ruins. Fethiye is the starting point of the Lycian Way, a 500-km footpath through the rugged mountains of the Tekke Peninsula to Antalya.

“Vahşi Batı” Kaliforniya Corono virüsü nedeniyle Şubat ayı sonundan buyana seyahat edemiyoruz. Bu yıl Mayıs ayı seyahatlerimiz arasında ABD’nin batısındaki Kaliforniya’sı vardı. Bu sayımızda eski bir Kaliforniya yazısı koyarak 2007 yılındaki anılarımızı canlı tutalım istedik. “Pow Wow’un yoğun iş günlerinden sonra yabanı delegeler ve medya mensubları Kaliforniya eyaleti içinde organize edilmiş çeşitli fam triplere katıldılar. Bizim seçtiğimiz ‘’California’s Wild West ‘’ turu Anaheim Orange County havaalaından dan Southwest Havayolları ile 1 saat 20 dakika sonra ulaştığımız Sacramento da başladı. Eski Sacramento şehir turu, Tarihi tren istasyonu ve müzesinin gezilmesinin ardından Kaliforniya Eyaletinin başkenti olan Sacramento parlemento binası olan ‘’Capitol’’ ı ziyaret edildi. Eyalet valisi Arnold Swarchenegger’ in bir toplantı sonrası tanışılması tura katılan bizler için ayrı bir şans oldu.

Sacramento’dan sonra uzun bir kara yolculuğu olacağı söylenen Redding şehrine doğru yola çıktık. Yol üzerinde sempatik Chico şehri ve adını ünlü Sierra Nevada dağlarından alan Sierra Nevada bira fabrikasının gezilmesi ilginç ayrı duraklar oldu. Biranın hangi evrelerden geçerek yapıldığı öğrenildi ve ABD’de bir klasik olan son ayrılış noktasındaki dükkandan fabrikaya özgü eşyalardan oluşan alışverişler yapıldı. Bu bira fabrikası girişinde tesisle ait aynı adı taşıyan ve şehrin bu en ünlü lokantasında çeşitli biralardan örnekler tadıldı. Sonrasında Stout adlı alkol derecesi 6 olan altın madalya ödülü kazanmış siyah bira da karar kılınarak güzel bir aksam yemeği yenildi. Gece yarısına doğru varılan Redding şehrinde grub çeşitli otellere bölünerek yerleştirildi. Bizim kaldığımız Red Lion Oteli 1830 Hilltop Drive adresinde ve Tel:+1 530 221 87 00 - www.redlion.com adresinde sevimli, bir tipik Amerikan oteliydi. Ertesi sabah erkenden başlayan yoğun tur günümüzde önce ‘’Turtle Bay Exploration Park & Island McConnell Arboretum’’ adlı bilimsel araştırma ve eğitim merkezi gezilerek denizaltı va tabiat zenginlikleri müzesi şeklinde tasarlanmış ve öğrencilerin eğitimleri için tasarlanmış merkezi gezdik. Burada Titanik yolcu gemisinden çıkarılan eserler de ayrı bir bölümde sergilenmiş. Merkezin hemen yanındaki Paul Bunyan Orman kampı içindeki ağaç ve çevrebilim bölümü ile gezdiğimiz ilginç yerlerden biri oldu. Öğle yemeği ve bir başka ilginç yerde yenildi. ‘’Wild Horse Sanctuary‘’ Vahşi atların yerleştirildiği ve eğitildiği bir çiftlikte yemeğin www.smpublication.com 37
destinasyon ardında grubun cesaretli olanları vahşi atlara bindi bizler de arazi araçları ile çok büyük çiftlikte ‘’Cowboy’’ hayatını birkaç saat de olsun yaşadık. Akşam yemeği öncesi şehrin Asphalt Cowboys ve Redding Rodeo Birliğinin klubünde rodeo gösterileri izlendi ve ardından kovboy şiirleri ve müzikleri ile eğlenilerek klub restoranında “Cowboy BBQ‘’ süne katıldık. Western Pacific Rail Road müzesi de gezdiğimiz bir diğer atraksiyon oldu. 1928 yılında kurulan demiryolu şirketi ile Kaliforniya’da değişik ülkelerden kadınlı erkekli mültecilerin inşa ettiği demiryolu tarihi müzesi ilgiyle gezildi. Yemek sonrası Atina Olimpiyat stadının da mimarı olan İspanyol Santiago Calatrava’nın yaptığı görkemli ‘’ The Sundial’’ köprüsünü gezdikten sonra Redding deki son gecemiz için otelimize döndük. Ertesi gün Redding’den son durağımız “ San Francisco” için ayrıldık. Yolda ülkenin en büyük şekerleme fabrikası olan ‘’Jelly Belly’’ de yine Amerikanvari bir fabrika tanıma turu yaptık, ve elbette son durak olarak da satış mağazasından alışveriş. Fabrikanın restoranında yenilen yemek sonrası daha önce birkaç kez gördüğümüz San Francisco şehrine ulaştık. Otelimizde odaların akşam üzerine kadar hazırlanamamış olmasından dolayı üzerimizi dahi değiştiremeden kuzey Kaliforniya turlarını seçen diğer Pow Wow grubları ile buluşarak ünlü Alkatraz Adasına gemi yolculuğu yaptık. Uzun yıllar askeri ve sivil hapisanesi ile ünlü olan adada tüm bölümleri gezerek 38 New Focus | July / August 2020
bilgilendik ve San Francisco şehrinin güzelliğini gün batımı adadan doğru seyrettik. Dönüşümüzde bu kez limadan Hornblower Cruises & Events, adlı şirketin organize ettiği başka bir gemiye bindik ve San Francisco körfezinde yol alarak son gecenin yemekli eğlencesine katıldık. Pow Wow turumuz bu geceyle son bulmuştu ancak en son birkaç yıl önce geldiğimiz San Francisco’da biz bir gün daha yaşamak istedik. Filmlere konu olmuş tepelerle dolu caddelerinde şehir ile özdeşleşmiş tramvaylara binmek, ünlü Golden Gate köprüsünün altından ve üstünden Helikopter ile geçmek (San Francisco Helicopters Tel: +1 650 635 45 00 – www.sfhelicopters. com), ünlü Fisherman’s Warf ‘da dolaşmak ve Pier 39 da eğlenmek için ve gemi turu ile birkez de gündüz güzel körfezi dolaşmak için….”

Yabancı turist sayısı dibi gördü Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı’nın Emniyet Genel Müdürlüğ’nden aldığı geçici verilere göre, mayıs ayında Türkiye’yi ziyaret eden yabancı sayısı geçen yılın aynı ayına göre yüzde 99,26 oranında azalarak 29 bin 829 oldu. Mayıs ayında gelen 29 bin 829 yabancı ziyaretçinin 2 bin 90’ını (%7,01 ) günübirlikçiler oluşturdu. Mayıs ayında ülkemize gelen yabancı ziyaretçilerin en çok giriş yaptıkları 5 il şöyle:şekilde gerçekleşti: 1-Edirne %59,05 (17 bin 615 ) 2-Artvin %13,94 ( 4 bin 157 ) 3-Kilis %7,57 ( 2 bin 258 ) 4-Samsun %5,95 ( Bin 775 ) 5-İstanbul %2,84 ( 847 ) 2020 yılı Ocak-Mayıs döneminde Ülkemizi ziyaret eden yabancı sayısında geçen yılın aynı dönemine göre yüzde 66,35 azalış kaydedilmiştir. Bu arada, 2020 yılı Ocak-Mayıs döneminde ülkemizi ziyaret eden yabancı turist sayısı geçen yılın aynı dönemine göre %66,35 azalarak 4 bin 292 bin 711 oldu. Bu dönemde gelen 4 milyon 292 bin 711 yabancı ziyaretçinin 34 bin 730’unu (%0,81) günübirlikçiler oluşturdu. “ 40 New Focus | July / August 2020

bülten Olympos Antik Kenti’nin sit derecesi düşürüldü Antalya’nın Kumluca ilçesinde bulunan ve 1. derece sit alanı olan dünyaca ünlü Olympos Antik Kenti’nin sit derecesi düşürülerek 3. derece arkeolojik SİT alanına çevrildi. Bölgenin 3. derece sit alanına dönüştürülmesine çevreciler “yapılaşmanın önü açıldı” diye tepki gösterirken, Kumluca Belediye Başkanı Mustafa Köleoğlu, ise mevcut yapılaşma oranı yüzde 70-80 bandında iken planlama ile bu oran yüzde 30’a düşürüldüğünü söyledi. Antalya’nın Kumluca ilçesinde bulunan dünyaca ünlü Olympos Antik Kenti ile ilgili 2004 yılında çalışmalarına başlanan ‘Koruma Amaçlı’ İmar Planı, Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı tarafından onaylandı. Olympos böylece 1. derece arkeolojik SİT alanı olma vasfını yitirdi, 3. derece arkeolojik SİT alanına dönüştürüldü. Bu konuda Sözcü Gazetesi’ne açıklamada bulunan Kumluca Belediye Başkanı Mustafa Köleoğlu, ‘Koruma Amaçlı’ İmar Planı ile bölgede daha önceden var olan ve halen yapılmakta olan çarpık yapılaşmanın önüne geçileceğini, inşaat artışını engelleneceğini savundu. Salda Gölü’nün kumları geri geldi Salda Gölü’nde yüklenici firma tarafından iş makinesi ve kamyonlar ile başka noktaya taşınan kumlar eski yerine alındı. Burdur’un Yeşilova ilçesi sınırlarında bulunan ve turkuaz suyu, beyaz kumsalı ile ‘Türkiye’nin Maldivleri’ olarak anılan Salda Gölü’ne yapılması planlanan Millet Bahçesi projesini yürüten yüklenici firmaya ait iş makinesi ve kamyonlar ile alandaki kumsal tahrip edildi. Kepçeyle kazılıp, kamyonlarla sahilden alınan kumların, 5 kilometre uzağa gölün başka noktasındaki kıyıya götürülmesi sosyal medyada gündem olunca Çevre ve Şehircilik Bakanlığı inceleme başlattı. Yüklenici firma yetkilileri hakkında soruşturma başlatılırken, Toplu Konut İdaresi Başkanlığı (TOKİ) yetkilileri de olayın hemen ardından alana gelerek, zarar tespiti için kot incelemesi yaptı. Salda Gölü’nün kıyısından alınıp, başka noktaya taşınan kumların yeniden eski yerlerine getirilmesi için başlatılan çalışma tamamlandı. Bilim insanlarının gözetiminde yapılan çalışma kapsamında kumlar Beyaz Adalar bölgesindeki yerlerine kürek ve tırmıklarla yürütülen titiz çalışmayla yerleştirildi. 42 New Focus | July / August 2020
Çevre ve Şehircilik Bakanı Murat Kurum’un da her aşamasını yakından takip ettiği çalışmanın sonunda bakanlığın çevre projelerinde fikir ve önerilerini almak üzere oluşturduğu akademisyenlerden oluşan özel kurul Salda Gölü’nde inceleme yaptı. Akademisyenler göl kenarından da numune alarak incelemek üzere götürdü. Salda Gölü kenarında yürütülen hassas çalışmanın yaklaşık 3 hafta sürdüğü belirtildi.(DHA) Uçak bileti fiyatları %50 artabilir Virüs salgını çok etkilenen havacılık sektörü, uçuşlara yeniden başlamanın formülünü arıyor. Boş koltuk uygulaması uçak tiplerine göre doluluğu yüzde 30-50 oranında düşürebiliyor. ICCA’nın dünyada en çok uluslararası kongre ve toplantıya ev sahipliği yapan şehirler sıralamasında ilk üçte Paris, Lizbon ve Berlin yer aldı. Dünya ülke sıralamasında ise ilk üçe ABD, Almanya ve Fransa yerleşti. 2019 yılında dünya genelinde toplam 13 bin 254 toplantı gerçekleşirken, Avrupa bölgesi 7 bin 33 toplantıya ev sahipliği yaptı. ICCA raporuna göre, İstanbul’da son 10 yılda toplam bin 41 kongre ve toplantı gerçekleştirildi. En çok kongrenin yapıldığı yıl ise 159 toplantı ile 2015 yılı oldu. Sağlıklı turizm belgesini verecek kurumlar Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı koordinasyonunda başlatılan, dünyada da ilk örneklerden biri olan “Sağlıklı Turizm Belgelendirme Programı” çerçevesinde belge verecek TÜRKAK onaylı akreditasyon kurumları ile belgenin alım koşulları belli oldu. Türk turizminin normale dönüş süreci için son bir buçuk ayda son derece kapsamlı bir çalışma gerçekleştiren Bakanlığın uygulamaya koyduğu “Sağlıklı Turizm Belgesi”, turistlere tatillerini gönül rahatlığıyla geçirebilecekleri güvenli bir tatil hizmeti sunulmasını sağlayacak. Bu yaz sezonundan itibaren geçerli olacak belgenin ilgili bakanlıkların katkıları ve tüm sektör paydaşların iş birliğiyle hazırlandığını hatırlatan Bakan Ersoy, programın ayrıntılarını kamuoyu ile paylaştı. TÜROFED, TÜROB ve TÜRYİD gibi sivil toplum kuruluşlarının görüşlerini alarak, birlikte yapılan değerlendirmeler sonucunda yetkili kuruluşları belirlediklerine işaret eden Bakan Ersoy, bu belge ile konaklama ve yemeiçme tesislerinin ayrı ayrı kriterler çerçevesinde uluslararası standartlarda denetleneceğini kaydetti. “Sağlıklı Turizm Belgesi”ni verecek kuruluşların yetkinlikleri bakımından aynı zamanda Türkiye Akreditasyon Kurumu (TÜRKAK) tarafından da onaylanmış 44 New Focus | July / August 2020
durumda olduğunu belirten Bakan Ersoy, bugün itibarıyla Sağlıklı Turizm Belgesi’ni verecek TÜRKAK onaylı kuruluşların www.tga.gov.tr internet adresinden ilan edileceğini bildirdi. Gerekli hijyen ve sosyal mesafe kurallarına uygun olarak hizmet verdiğini tescillemek isteyen tesisleri, açıklanan bu kuruluşlar arasından tercih edecekleri işletmelere belgeyi almak üzere başvuruda bulunmaya davet eden Bakan Ersoy, belgenin kesinlikle zorunlu olmadığını vurguladı. Ancak belge sahibi işletmelerin artmasıyla birlikte turizm sektöründeki normalleşmenin de hızlanacağına inandıklarını belirten Bakan Ersoy, bu belgeyi verecek kuruluşların uluslararası geçerlilikte gerekli akreditasyon standartlarına ve yetkinliğe sahip olduğuna işaret etti. Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığınca başlatılan uygulama ile belge vermeye yetkili akreditasyon firmaları hijyen ve sağlık denetimi ile uygunluk değerlendirmesi yapacaklar. Bu firmalar yapacakları değerlendirmelere ilişkin raporlar düzenleyecek, başvuruda bulunan tesislere düzenli olarak denetçi gönderip kriterlere uygun hizmet verilip verilmediğini denetleyecekler. TÜRKAK onaylı denetleme ve belgelendirme işletmeleri dışında bu konuda çalışmak isteyen diğer işletmeler de gerekli yetkinliğe sahip olmaları ve akreditasyonlarının TÜRKAK tarafından teyit edilmeleri halinde denetim yapabilecekler. Belgeyi alan tesisler ise Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığının internet sitesinden ayrıca duyurulacak. Tesislere gelen konuklar “Sağlıklı Turizm Belgesi”nde belgenin logosunu, denetime ilişkin detaylı bilgilerin yer aldığı karekod uygulamasını ve denetleyici firmanın logosunu görebilecek. Konaklamadan yeme içme tesislerine, tesis çalışanlarından misafirlerin kendi sağlık durumuna geniş bir yelpazede yeni tedbirleri tanımlayan “Sağlıklı Turizm Belgelendirme Programı” hakkındaki kriterlere ve yetkili kuruluşlara Türkiye Turizm Tanıtım ve Geliştirme Ajansının www.tga.gov. tr internet adresinden ulaşılabiliyor.

Bülten Türkiye Mavi Bayrak’ta 486 plaja ulaştı Türkiye dünyanın en seçkin turizm ve çevre ödüllerinden Mavi Bayrak’ta bu yıl da zirvedeki yerini korudu. İspanya ve Yunanistan’ın ardından dünyanın en çok mavi bayraklı 3’üncü ülkesi olan Türkiye’nin ödüllü plaj sayısı bu yıl 486 oldu. Merkezi Danimarka’nın başkenti Kopenhag olan Uluslararası Çevre Eğitim Vakfının (FEE) verdiği Mavi Bayrak ödüllerinin 2020 yılı değerlendirmeleri sonucunda, geçtiğimiz yıl 463 olan ödüllü plaj sayısı 486’ya ulaştı. Türkiye’de 22 marina ve 7 yat ise bu yıl Mavi Bayrak ödülü almaya hak kazandı. Bu yıl Mavi Bayraklı plaj sayıları Antalya’da 206’ya, Muğla’da 105’e, Aydın’da 35’e, İzmir’de 52’ye, Balıkesir’de 31’e, İstanbul’da 2’ye, Samsun’da da 13’e yükseldi. Çanakkale, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Düzce, Ordu, Mersin ve Van illerinde geçtiğimiz yılın rakamları korundu. Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı, plaj sayısında 2023 yılında, uluslararası Mavi Bayrak uygulaması yapan 50 FEE üyesi ülke arasında dünya birinciliğini hedefliyor. Korona virüs (Covid-19) salgını tedbirleri kapsamında evde kalan Türk halkı yeni normalleşme sürecinin açıklanmasıyla Ege sahillerine akın etti. Gelen yerli turistlerin birçoğu otellerde kalmak yerine mavi tura çıkarak rahat bir nefes almayı tercih etti. Otellerde virüse karşı hazırlanan tedbirler en üst düzeyde olmasına rağmen tekne ile deniz tatili vatandaşlara daha cazip gelmeye başladı. Özellikle Bodrum’a gelen yerli turistlerin bir çoğu kiraladıkları tekne ve yatlarla Ege denizine açılarak 5 yıldızlı tatil yapmayı daha siteril buldu. Haftalık, 15 günlük ya da 1 aylık kiralanan lüks teknelerin, yatların fiyatlarında fazla bir artış görülmezken günü birlik mavi tur fiyatları ise yüzde yüz artış gösterdi. Geçtiğimiz yıl 70 liraya düzenlenen günü birlik turlar bu yıl ise kişi başı 150 lira oldu. Bodrum’da günü birlik tekneler bu yıl ilk turlarına çıktı. Öğlen yemeği dahil, Bodrum’un en gözde 4 koyunda denize girmenin keyfini yaşamak ise 150 liradan başladı. Sabah erken saatlerde mavi tura çıkan tatilciler her koyda 1 saat denize girerek stres attı. Günü birlik tur tekneleri mavi tura çıkmadan önce tüm tekneyi dezenfekte ediyor. 2 tekne personeli tarafından sosyal mesafe kurallarına göre gelen yerli turisti teknedeki yerlerine götürüyor. Maskesiz tekneye alınmayan yerli turistlere maske dağıtan tekne mürettebatı maskelerin sadece denize girerken çıkarılması konusunda uyarıyor. Tekneye ateş ölçüldükten sonra alınan tatilciler yolculukları boyunca 30 dakikada bir kaptan tarafından sosyal mesafe kurallarına uymaları için anons geçiliyor. Teknede güneşlenmek isteyenler için ise mesafe aralığı 2 metre oluyor. Ailelerin bir arada durulmasına izin verilen mavi tur yolculuğu akşam saatlerinde son buluyor.(İHA) www.smpublication.com 47
bülten Hatay’a yat limanı geliyor Hatay’ın Arsuz ilçesinde atıl durumdaki balıkçı barınağının yerine Hatay Valiliği ve Büyükşehir Belediyesi işbirliğinde Madenli Yat Limanı, Su Sporları Merkezi ve Hatay Deniz Otobüsü (HADO) İşletmesinin temeli düzenlenen törenle atıldı. Törende konuşan Hatay Valisi Rahmi Doğan, atıl durumdaki balıkçı barınağının yat limanı ve su sporları merkezine dönüştürülmesi vizyonuna sahip olduklarını ve bu projeyi gerçekleştirebilmek için 16 bakanlıktan izin aldıklarını söyledi. Hatay’ın turizmden hak ettiği payı alabilmesi için ciddi çalışmalar yürüttüklerini belirten Vali Doğan, proje için milletvekillerinin de desteğiyle büyük çaba harcandığını belirtti. Vali Doğan, “Çalışmalarımız tamamlandığında 2021 Eylül ayında burada uluslararası yelken yarışları yapılacak. Marinanın bir bölümünde Büyükşehir Belediyesi tarafından işletilecek olan deniz otobüsü seferleri başlayacak. İstanbul ise Devler Ligi’nde 2021 finaline seyircili olarak ev sahipliği yapacak. Koronavirüs nedeniyle ertelenen Şampiyonlar Ligi’nin durumuyla ilgili bir süredir merakla beklenen karar, UEFA tarafından açıklandı. UEFA Yönetim Kurulu, bugün gerçekleştirdiği toplantıda bu yılki Şampiyonlar Ligi finalinin yerini değiştirdi. 23 Ağustos’ta İstanbul Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadı’nda oynanması planlanan UEFA Şampiyonlar Ligi final maçı Portekiz’in başkenti Lizbon’a alındı. Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı’nda belgeli olarak faaliyet gösteren restoran ve kafeterya işletmeleri için Hazine Destekli Kefalet Sistemi çerçevesinde KGF teminatlı bir “Destek Kredisi” ürünü hayata geçirildi. Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı tarafından verilen belgeye sahip olan ve Ziraat Bankası üye işyeri statüsündeki işletmeler; Ana faaliyet konusu ile direkt ilişkilendirilebilecek harcamalarının karşılanmasını amaçlayan 6 aya kadar ödemesiz, toplam azami 36 aya kadar vadeli, yıllık %7,5 faiz oranlı krediyi cirolarına bağlı olarak kullanabilecekler.
