Why CWC Project is required? 

India ranks a lowly 120th rank in the list of 122 Countries rated on quality of potable water Nearly 80% of villages in India don’t have any source of protected drinking water 21% of communicable diseases in India are related to unsafe water. Example- diarrhea, fluorosis, cholera, cancer

Smaat CWC Model and Approach 

CWC Project is carried out through Smaat Community Water Centres with project execution period – 6 Months to 1 year

Smaat is responsible for execution and maintenance of the entire project for 15 years on a Build – Operate – Maintain – Transfer (BOT) model

The project will be funded via a public – private partnership on a 50-50 basis. Smaat’s CWC will contribute the village / community by investing (depending on village population) on technology infrastructure for generating quality drinking water

Water will be available to citizens at an affordable cost of 20 paisa per liter

Free drinking water to be provided to Government schools, hospitals and to places of worship

The water would be of quality that is comparable to any brand of bottled mineral water.

Smaat CWC Model and Approach 

Collaboratively works and execute with the support of Gram Panchayath

Minimum requirements like Raw Water source, Electricity, 150 sq yards land and shelter (shed or RCC 25’ x 25’ – 625 Sq. Ft) are to be provided in the village with support of Village Funds, MP Lads, MLA’s, charity or any other local sources

Gram Panchayath has to pass a village resolution and execute CWC agreement with Smaat to manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and operate the water treatment plant for 15 years on behalf the village / community

Smaat’s CWC will contribute the village / community by investing on technology infrastructure for generating quality drinking water

Smaat CWC is committed to provide the quality drinking water to village / community which meets the standards prescribed by the Bureau of Indian Standards IS :105000 and WHO (World Health Organization) at a low, nominal service fee for supplying quality drinking water

Smaat CWC Model and Approach 

The Plant will be installed with in 30 days of the Agreement between Grampanchayath and the Our Company

Our Technicians arrive with the plant and install it within 18 hours and then they run the plant another 8 hours for trial run

After completion, the Plant ready is to supply Purified water to the Villagers

We hire a plant operator from the village and offer a good salary for maintaining the plant

We train the villager as a operator of the plant so that he/she can manage the operation and maintenance of the plant, and create awareness about safe water and sanitation practices in the village community
