ello everyone! I’m super excited this month. Why? Because it’s my birthday and I will NO longer be a pre-teen! Also I’ve been researching a lot about ‘Zoella’, she is literally amazing!
sk a 13-year-old girl who her favourite celebrity is and you may get a surprising answer? More than likely it will not be Taylor Swift, Meghan Traynor or even Harry Styles, but a 25-year-old from Brighton called Zoe Elizabeth Sugg (born 28th March 1990) ‘Zoella’ to her fans – is not a singer, actress or a super model, she has become a huge fashion and beauty star thanks to the video blogs she posts on ‘YouTube’. Zoe is currently one of the most famous internet vlogger’s (internet slang for Video Blogger) Her book, ‘Girl Online’, was released in November 2014 and broke the record for highest firstweek sales of a first-time novelist selling 78000 copies in its first week! Wow!

oe Sugg is just one of a crop of British video bloggers (vloggers) who make a living out of posting short films to the online video portal. To those who use Facebook purely to keep up with friends and still struggle with the concept of Twitter, this new kind of celebrity can be baffling. But Zoe and her crew are mobbed wherever they go, they can’t go out shopping without being stopped multiple times in any British city – or indeed the world!

n February 2009, Zoe Sugg was working as an apprentice at an interior design company when she created her fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog called "Zoella". By the end of 2009 it had a thousand followers and was gathering speed fast! The fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog expanded into a YouTube channel in 2009, while Zoe was working for a British clothing retailer. Fast forward a few years and as of March 2015 it has literally exploded! As of January 2015 her main ‘YouTube’ channel has over 7 million subscribers and over 330 million video views, and is the 59th most subscribed channel on the website! Her second channel "MoreZoella" has over 2.6 million subscribers and over 170 million video views! She also has over 3 million followers on Twitter and over 3.5 million on Instagram! Wow! Back in 2013, Zoe was named as one of the National Citizen Service's ambassadors, helping to promote the newly launched youth service. The following year she was named as the first "Digital A m b as s a dor" for ‘Mind’ - the mental health charity.

oe has two channels. Her main channel, Zoella, first named "zoella280390" after her birth date, is mostly fashion, beauty hauls, and ‘favorite's videos (showing her favorite products of the previous month). Her second channel, ‘MoreZoella’, contains mostly vlogs where she lets her viewers see what she is doing that day. Dominic Smales, the founder of Gleam Futures, a social media talent agency that manages the careers of this new breed of celebrity says that they are not surprised by the success of Zoe. Over-20s may never have heard of them, but to tween- and teenagers these prolific video bloggers are worthy of mobbing!

oe also appears alongside many other ‘YouTubers’ on the channel ‘DailyMix’, which is managed by Gleam. She has done many collaborations on her channel ‘Zoella’ with other ‘YouTubers’, including: Louise Pentland, Tanya Burr, Alfie Deyes (her boyfriend), Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan, Grace Helbig, Joe Sugg (her younger brother) and many others.

have her makeup bag and I love it! It’s so beautiful and I use it a lot! Trust me she makes the best products!
Diary of a pre-teenager - TEEN!
S
o like I mentioned earlier, it’s my birthday this month. It’s also my sister’s and my mums birthdays too! We girls are all five days apart, so they are all close. On the fourteenth of May 2002 I was born. My sister was born on the fourth of May, (note: on my parents Wedding Anniversary) and my mums birthday is on the ninth of May! Gosh May is a busy and expensive month for my dad! For my birthday I have asked for the latest ipod touch. My Mum and Nana said they will take me shopping for the summer as well! So there is so much to look forward to!
I
’m also into my music at the moment. As you may remember, I love Avril Lavigne. My current favourite song is ‘Give you what you like’. I love her music it rocks! My dad says that I get my love of music from him, however he thinks Black Sabbath rock, I guess they do, but they’re so old, a bit like my dad! LOL! I also love the ‘Sims’, not much has changed there! I’m really good at making Sims and their houses. I love the interior designing! I have to say when it comes to Sims houses I am one for detail. They have to have candles on the bath, rugs, makeup on the sink, tissues on the bedside table, literally everything! I spend days designing houses that I like and they turn out expensive because of the furniture! Well I guess that’s it for this month. Stay kind and have courage! Until Next month... Take Care

Whoof! I’m loving the sunshine that we have been having recently. It’s all been about barbeques and hanging out with my furry friends and having FUN this past few weeks!

ell here we are in May, already! Whoof, I love this time of year because it’s the party season now for us furry friends and I love a great party! Don’t you? There’s lots to sniff around, a million different flavours and colours and best of all, the barbeque! Oh how I love anything and everything barbeque! This past few weeks (whilst the sun has shone) I have been to some of the craziest sunshine parties and I’ve met some pretty crazy guests too, both dogs and cats alike! ith the sun shining, it’s time to take mans best friend out for long walks in the sunshine! It’s also time to take us to out of our usual routines! Why not take us to the beach for a long run on the sand. I love the freedom of the beach, where I get to bark at the waves, jump in the cool sea water and run and run and run! There’s nothing like running in the open air, the only downside is getting us there - this is accomplished usually by journeying us in the dreaded car! So my friends and I wish to ask for a compromise... Yes, we will travel in the car as long as you let us hang our heads out of the window! This is by far one of the coolest things a dog can do whilst in the vehicle! Oh the wind in our hair and the cool breeze blowing in our faces. Little Hearts Matter
are a charity who offer support and information, and raise awareness of those affected when a child is born with a single ventricle, only half a heart.
Little Hearts Matter were originally set up in 1994. The support they provide both the children and the families affected by this condition is truly invaluable. Our son Evan Thomas Pheasant was born on 27/10/14. Evan was diagnosed with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome at our 22 week scan. He had his first open heart surgery at 3 days old and was home at 2 weeks old. Sadly during a routine outpatient appointment Evan passed away on 6/2/15. The support we as a family received from Little Hearts Matter, both during the pregnancy and the short time we had with Evan was invaluable. We are actively raising awareness and money to help Little Hearts Matter provide the same support to other families affected like we were. We recently held a coffee and cake morning and to date have raised a total of £748.14. ell hello again my lovely readers...Here we are in May and how lovely to have some warm and sunny weather!
I
love this time of year. It's so good to get outside. We have already had a few barbeques already and long may it continue! We are very much an outside family in the warmer months, so it’s lovely to get outdoors and enjoy the recent good weather. We are back to much lighter nights which is just fabulous. Don't you think lovelies that everybody is much happier when we get to this lovely time of year? Also we have two bank holidays to look forward to this month.

ell lovelies I have some exciting news to share with you this month. People often ring me or stop me in the street and ask if I have a certain recipe or to ask my advice about something or other. I really don't mind as I love talking to these lovely people, so I have decided to expand on this by having an email address that you can contact me on with any questions or just to say “Hi”. I’m not saying I can solve all your problems, but I will certainly help in the best way I can with recipes or general problems! o my lovelies, this last month, I was researching on the Internet and was amazed at how many festivals we have going on in England this coming spring and summer. Everything from music and literary festivals, to vintage festivals. Being an oldie of course vintage is very close to my heart, as it was very much my era. All my childhood was in the forties and fifties and I remember with great fondness the simplicity of our lives as children growing up in the post war years. I for one had an amazing childhood. I must admit that our lives were so much less complicated as we had no knowledge or understanding for all the gadgets that we have now come to rely on. Back then the world seemed a much simpler place. We as kids could play out on the streets and wander off for the day with friends having great adventures in the local woods and countryside. It was safe in those days and our parents never had to worry about us the way we do these days. I know that you young ones think that we oldies look back with rose tinted spectacles, but lovelies it really was a wonderful time. I worry about all the modern electronic goods that our kids and grandchildren seem unable to do without.
You will need: 750gms new potatoes 2 leg bunches asparagus (woody ends discarded) 1 whole garlic clove 1 tbsp olive oil 1 lemon halved Small handful of Rosemary sprigs 8/10 chicken legs or thighs Method: Heat your oven to 200/180 fan Put your potatoes, asparagus, garlic cloves, oil and lots of seasoning in a large roasting dish. Squeeze over all the juice from your lemon, then cut the lemon into chunks and add to the dish. Toss everything together and then cover the dish with foil and roast for about 15 mins. Remove the foil and mix through the Rosemary. Season the chicken and arrange evenly in the dish. Roast for another 30 mins until the potatoes are tender and the chicken is cooked through. Serve from the dish and serve with crusty bread and a simple green salad.. This dish is extra delicious with a nice glass of chilled wine!

1. In 1494 during his second journey of exploration in the new world Christopher Columbus discovered Jamaica. 2. In 1862 during the American Civil war General David Hunter issued orders freeing the slaves in South Carolina. Thereafter in 1893 the Wall Street crash began as stock prices fell dramatically it was the worst economic crisis in the US history up to that point, 3. In 1932 Amelia Earhart became the first women to fly solo across the Atlantic she departed Newfoundland Canada at 7pm and landed near Londonderry Ireland, completing a 2026 mile flight in around 13 hours. 4. On May 12th 1937 George VI was crowned king of England after his brother Edward abdicated, he reigned until his death in 1952. 5. And finally in 1961 Alan Shepherd became the first American in space. He piloted ‘Freedom Seven’. This came 23 days after the Russians had launched the first ever human in space the cosmonaut ‘ Yu r i Gagarin’.

am going to start each month to reintroduce some good old fashioned manners, which I must admit some of you young ones have forgotten all about... Even a few oldies as well! 1. Firstly it's lovely when you young and old men hold a door open for a lady! When’s the last time you did?
