Decorative Painting with Milk Paint Milk paint is a durable, non-fading, non-toxic, water-based paint that adheres beautifully to porous surfaces such as wood. Rich earth colors can be used to highlight traditional as well as contemporary designs. This workshop covers preparing the surface, mixing and applying milk paint, burnishing, texturing and other decorative techniques and clear coating. In addition to samples, students finish a wooden coat hanger. Doug Jones has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design and exhibits around the United States.
