Keeping ahead of the game is our constant and tireless daily commitment, without setting ourselves a final target, other than to “do things properly”, to be realistic and practical... with just a sprinkling of the visionary. The Spring/Summer 2016 collection includes many new features, the fruit of new technical solutions introduced, improvements on existing models and the expansion of the most successful categories. We have pursued performance, without ever diminishing the comfort that has always been a key feature of our products, and we have completed the package with a distinctive, coherent, pleasing and functional aesthetic. Construction technology, materials and colours have been researched and developed to leave nothing to chance. Every detail is there for a reason, be it technical or aesthetic. MOULDED MIDSOLE DAS is the construction system used to produce most of the models in the Dolomite collection. Its aim is to ensure that the internal shape of the footwear follows the anatomy of the foot itself as closely as possible, and to comply with the natural biomechanics of the foot. By keeping the impact of footstrike to a minimum and facilitating natural movements, extraordinary levels of comfort and safety can be achieved. DAS shoes are designed to meet the demands of different sporting activities, carefully balancing performance, comfort, lightness, reliability and sturdiness. The system comprises:
The midsoles are moulded to faithfully reproduce the anatomy of the last. In this way, firm contact is ensured between the foot and the ground, creating smooth rolling and stable, safe support.
ANATOMICAL LAST The surfaces and volumes of DAS lasts reproduce the anatomy of the average human foot, creating a precision fit and superior comfort.
ANATOMICAL FOOTBED The removable footbed provide the right support, improving stability by distributing body weight evenly and keeping the foot in a correct position.

SYNERGIC INSOLE The insole comprises two co-moulded parts that work together. The upper part in moulded EVA foam absorbs physical stresses. The lower part, in materials with varying degrees of rigidity, serves to prevent twisting, increase stability and control flexing.

Dolomite’s anatomical and traditional lasts are the result of years of experience in the footwear business. They are constantly updated to keep pace with evolving trends in outdoor activities and with consumer demand, which is shifting increasingly towards high-performance products. The anatomy of the foot, personal sensitivity and the types of activities pursued are all highly variable, leading us to develop our products on a range of different lasts in order to obtain different fits and meet the needs of all types of customers.
In some of our Dolomite shoes we have fitted Ortholite® anatomical footbeds, adding value thanks to their physical and chemical properties. What is Ortholite®? OrthoLite’s advanced, proprietary polyurethane formula with recycled rubber content delivers a combination of benefits unmatched by any other insole manufacturer. OrthoLite is the foam insole category leader for producing sustainable products – replacing the petroleum based PU with bio-oil PU. OrthoLite open-cell foam technology can be found in more than 175 million pairs of athletic, casual, dress, work, and outdoor shoes each year. The Benefits of OrthoLite® Open -Cell Foam Technology: LONG-TERM CUSHIONING Unlike traditional insoles, the compression set of OrthoLite® insoles is less than 5 percent over time so the cushioning and fit never change inside the shoe, providing maximum comfort every time you put your shoes on. WASHABLE OrthoLite® insoles are machine washable, coming out like new every time while maintaining all of their performance benefits after washing. MOISTURE MANAGEMENT The unique open-cell structure of OrthoLite® insoles creates a moisture management system, helping to move moisture away from the foot to provide a cooler, drier, healthier shoe environment.
DOLOMITE INSOLES The insole has a considerable influence on the degree of flexibility of a shoe. The different levels of flexibility depend on the various combinations of materials, thicknesses and technologies, and should be selected according to the type of activities envisaged, but above all according to personal skill and experience. To ensure simple, immediate communication, we have developed a series of symbols indicating the flexibility scale of our models:
HIGH-LEVEL BREATHABILITY OrthoLite’s open-cell PU foam is 95 to 100 percent breathable, allowing air to circulate in and around the insole, keeping the foot cooler inside the shoe. LIGHTWEIGHT OrthoLite® insoles are lightweight, enhancing the performance of the shoes with airy comfort. ANTIMICROBIAL FUNCTION A patented salt-based antimicrobial is added to all OrthoLite® foams to fight against the presence of fungus, bacteria and odor. Combined with excellent moisture management properties, the antimicrobial inhibits the buildup of the bacterial fungi associated with the cause of odor.

M.E.M - Mountain Escursion Module
CRAMPON HOOK-UP
M.E.M., the acronym of Mountain Excursion Module, is a modular system producing soles with different technical features according to product type. Its interchangeable component parts are assembled in variable combinations in order to create platforms suitable for multiple activities.
Two M.E.M. versions are available with inserts for hooking up auto or semi-auto crampons
ALP MIDSOLE
Medial view
The central element of the M.E.M. system is the ALP midsole in injected bi-density polyurethane. The design of the two components is strictly ergonomic. The rigid polyurethane performs an anti-twist and support function. The soft polyurethane absorbs impact. The heel area is shaped like an “accordion� to dissipate and return energy during the contact phase. The asymmetry between medial and lateral is clearly referred to the phases of the step: contact phase - midstance phase - propulsive phase.
