หลักสูตรสองภาษาทางเลือกทางการ ศึกษาที่เหมาะสมส�ำหรับคนไทยยุค ใหม่
ในโลกยุ ค โลกาภิ วั ต น์ ที่ ต ้ อ งมี ก าร ติดต่อสื่อสารกับประเทศต่างๆ คงปฏิเสธไม่ได้ ว่าการสื่อสารสองภาษามีความจ�ำเป็นอย่างยิ่ง ดังนั้นแนวคิดการเป็นบุคคลสองภาษานับเป็น ทางเลือกที่น่าสนใจ ในด้านการบ่มเพาะและ การเลือกระบบการศึกษาให้แก่เยาวชน แม้ว่า หลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนในประเทศไทยจะมี ทางเลือกให้กับผู้เรียนหลากหลาย แต่การ เรียนในหลักสูตรสองภาษาที่มีคุณภาพอย่าง แท้จริงจะท�ำให้ผู้เรียนมีความแตกต่างและข้อ ได้เปรียบที่ดีกว่าหลักสูตรอื่นๆ ยกตัวอย่างเช่น การเรียนใน หลักสูตรไทยจะมุ่งเน้นการเรียนการสอนที่เป็น ภาษาไทยเป็นหลักโดยมีภาษาอังกฤษเป็นส่วน เสริม ส่งผลให้นักเรียนที่เรียนในหลักสูตรไทย แม้ว่าจะมีความสามารถทางด้านวิชาการที่ดี แต่ทักษะด้านภาษาอังกฤษจะไม่ดี ซึ่งมีผล โดยตรงกับการเรียนในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยที่ ต้องเรียนเป็นภาษาอังกฤษในรายวิชาต่างๆ หรือการค้นคว้าหาข้อมูลที่เป็นภาษาอังกฤษ เป็นต้น ส�ำหรับหลักสูตร English Program นั้นเป็นการน�ำหลักสูตรไทยมาแปลเป็นภาษา
อังกฤษโดยปรับเนื้อหาการเรียนการสอนเพื่อ ให้เข้ากับบริบทของความเป็นไทย แม้ว่าจะได้ เรี ย นและมี ค วามคุ ้ น เคยกั บ ภาษาอั ง กฤษ โดยตรง แต่ยังคงมีความกลัวที่จะสื่อสารกับ ชาวต่างชาติ ดังนั้นนักเรียนจะไม่สามารถ สื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษได้อย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ ส่วนหลักสูตรนานาชาติที่ก�ำลังเป็น ที่นิยมอยู่ในขณะนี้ แม้ว่านักเรียนจะได้เรียน ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นหลัก มีความคุ้นเคยกับชาว ต่างชาติหรือวัฒนธรรมต่างชาติ ส่งผลให้กล้า ที่จะสื่อสารกับชาวต่างชาติ แต่ในทางกลับกัน อาจส่งผลให้ผู้เรียนไม่เข้าใจบริบทในความ เป็นไทยได้อย่างลึกซึ้งพอ อีกทั้งข้อสอบเข้า ศึกษาต่อในมหาวิทยาลัย หรือข้อสอบวิชา สามัญ ข้อสอบ O-net และข้อสอบ GAT-PAT จะต้องสอบเป็นภาษาไทยเพียงอย่างเดียว จึง อาจไม่ใช่ทางเลือกที่เหมาะสมของผู้เรียน โดยหลักสูตรสองภาษาที่มีความน่า สนใจ คือ หลักสูตรทวิภาษาแบบองค์รวม (Unified Bilingual Curriculum) ซึ่งเป็น หลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนของโรงเรียนสาธิต แห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต ที่มุ่งเน้นการพัฒนา กระบวนการต่างๆ โดยมีผู้เรียนเป็นศูนย์กลาง ส่งผลให้ผู้เรียนได้พัฒนาทักษะของตนเองแบบ องค์รวม (Holistic Development) แม้จะมี การเรียนการสอนที่เน้นภาษาอังกฤษเป็นหลัก แต่ยังคงสอดแทรกบริบทความเป็นไทยให้แก่
นักเรียน เพื่อความเข้าใจทั้งด้านภาษาและ วั ฒ นธรรมไทยที่ ลึ ก ซึ้ ง เพี ย งพอในการที่ จ ะ ต่ อ ยอดโอกาสทางการศึ ก ษาในระดั บ มหาวิ ท ยาลั ย ชั้ น น� ำ ทั้ ง ในประเทศและต่ า ง ประเทศ หลักสูตรทวิภาษาแบบองค์รวมจึงนับ เป็นทางเลือกทางการศึกษาที่เหมาะสมส�ำหรับ คนไทยยุคใหม่ จากที่กล่าวมา เห็นได้ว่าการเรียน แบบสองภาษามีข้อได้เปรียบที่ดีกว่าระบบการ ศึกษาแบบอื่นทั้งหมด เนื่องจากนักเรียนจะได้ เรียนทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ ซึ่งท�ำให้ผู้ เรียนได้พัฒนาทักษะทางสมอง กระบวนการ คิดอย่างเป็นเหตุเป็นผล มีการเปิดใจกว้าง มี ความเข้าใจในสิ่งรอบตัว ตัดสินใจได้ถูกต้อง และแก้ปัญหาได้อย่างรวดเร็ว สามารถ ประยุกต์และพัฒนาความคิดแบบองค์รวมได้ มี ก ารพั ฒ นาทั ก ษะทางภาษาทั้ ง สองภาษา ควบคู ่ กั น จนสามารถสื่ อ สารได้ อ ย่ า งเป็ น ธรรมชาติ รวมถึงทางเลือกที่เปิดกว้างกว่าใน การเรียนต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย การ ประกอบอาชีพ และการด�ำรงชีวิตประจ�ำวัน แสดงให้เห็นว่าเด็กที่เรียนในแบบสองภาษาได้ เปรียบกว่าเด็กที่เรียนแบบภาษาเดียวอย่าง ชัดเจน

Bilingual Education is the best choice for New Age Thai people
IIn the globalized world as we step into the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) to communicate with other countries, bilingual communication is essential in gaining a head start. A bilingual person will be fluent in two languages, such as Thai and English, and have the ability to fluctuate between both and instinctively respond using either. In Thailand, there are many choices for learners such as an exclusively Thai program, English program, bilingual program and international programs. However the bilingual learners will hold a major advantage over all the other courses mentioned.. They will improve critical life skills like problem solving and rational thinking, whilst being more open minded and multicultural. Let’s assess the choices available to parents for their child’s education. Firstly, the Thai program is mainly focused on teaching in exclusively Thai and some English grammar. Students learning in a Thai program may flourish academically, but their English language skills will be weak. This will make it very difficult when they are exposed to English classes at University, searching for English information or to communicate with people in different cultures and languages in a working environment. As for the English program (EP), this is a curriculum that is translated from Thai to English by adapting teaching con-
tent to fit within the context of Thailand. Although learners gain familiarity with the English language, students will still think instinctively using only one language (Thai). Moreover, this single language thought process will mean they are paralyzed with fear when they communicate with any foreigners!. Students will not be able to communicate in English naturally and will often adopt the rules of their mother tongue into their new second language. In the International program, students are learning in English and will have familiarity with foreigners, which will give them confidence when they speak to foreigners. On the other hand, it may result in students being unfamiliar with the context of Thailand. And crucially, most of the university entrance exams, such as the admission test, O-net and GAT-PAT will be in the Thai language only. Hence an international program may not be the right choice for learners. Bilingual education has advantages over all other education programs. Students are taught both in Thai and English language from the toddler age, so their brain develops Thai and English language skills simultaneously. As a result, students can communicate naturally in both languages which enables them a wider choice of universities, careers and daily life. Thus children who learn in a bilingual education have an advantage over children who learn in only one predominant language. One of the most recommended bilingual curriculums is the Unified Bilin-
gual Curriculum of Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University, which combines a specific course given by the Ministry of Education, International General Certificate of Secondary Educational (IGCSE) curriculum and International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum which is internationally recognized by worldwide universities and governments. The Unified Bilingual Curriculum (UBC) emphasizes developing a systematic critical thinking process by student-centered teaching, group-work or buddy learning to solve the designated problem and give an opinion or a logical conclusion. Assessment occurs through real-life situations in the form of discussing a report in front of the classroom or presenting issues or information to students or teachers in the classroom. SBS recognizes that advanced computer skills must be developed from an early age as a tool for learning and searching for new knowledge, as well as gaining abilities in electronic communication. As a result, learners develop leadership skills and learner attributes simultaneously. Whilst there is a strong focus teaching in the English language, students still have the context of Thai so they develop an understanding and passion for their own Thai language and culture. In order to further educational opportunities in leading Universities in this country and abroad, Bilingual Education is the best choice for new age Thai people.

04 SBS Tips เมื่อฝ่ายปกครองขอพบผู้ปกครอง
ในยุคสมัยนี้ที่องค์ความรู้เรื่องจิตวิทยาก�ำลังรุดหน้า แนวคิดของกระบวนการในฝ่ายปกครองก็เปลี่ยนไปมากเมื่อเทียบกับเมื่อ 20 ปีที่ แล้ว โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งฝ่ายปกครองของโรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต ที่มุ่งเน้นการใช้สิ่งที่นักเรียนท�ำผิดระเบียบมาท�ำให้เกิดการเรียนรู้ เกิดการเจริญเติบโต (Personal Growth) มากกว่าการลงโทษที่รุนแรง การลงโทษเป็นสิ่งเลี่ยงไม่ได้ในห้องปกครอง ซึ่งการลงโทษนี้เพื่อให้นักเรียนได้รับรู้ถึงผลของการกระท�ำ สิ่งที่คุณพ่อคุณแม่ควรท�ำคือ การย�้ำว่าทุกการกระท�ำมีผลกลับมาเสมอ และเมื่อลูกถูกท�ำโทษแล้ว การถามเพื่อให้ลูกสรุปประสบการณ์เป็นสิ่งที่จ�ำเป็นมาก เพราะการให้ลูกพูด สรุปประสบการณ์เป็นการใช้สติปัญญาของลูกสอนตัวลูกเอง โดยใช้ค�ำถามว่า 1. สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นทั้งหมดนี้ ลูกรู้สึกอย่างไร 2. ลูกได้เรียนรู้อะไรบ้าง 3. ลูกจะน�ำไปใช้อย่างไร 4. ลูกจะน�ำประสบการณ์นี้ไปช่วยผู้อื่นอย่างไร หากผู้ปกครองท�ำแบบนี้ได้ การกระ ท�ำผิดของลูกจะไม่เป็นแผลทิ่มต�ำจิตใจ แต่จะ เป็นประสบการณ์และเป็นทรัพยากรที่ท�ำให้เขา เข้าใจอย่างลึกซึ้งถึงการกระท�ำต่างๆ ทั้งที่ให้คุณ และให้โทษ ห้องปกครองไม่ใช่ห้องสอบสวน แต่ เป็นห้องเรียนชีวิต ที่บทเรียนต่างๆ มาจากสิ่งที่ นักเรียนท�ำ
When the Principal’s Office asks to see the parents
In this era, cognitive psychology is progressive. The concept of the principal’s office process has changed a lot in the last twenty years, especially at Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University. The school focuses on personal growth and rehabilitation as opposed to severe punishment. Punishment is inevitable in the Principal’s Office. The punishment is for students to recognize the consequences of their actions. What parents should do is repeat that all actions have consequences, which always come back around. When the child has been punished, it is necessary to summarize and discuss the experience afterwards. Children are inexperienced therefore discussing and summarizing will develop the intelligence of children to eventually teach themselves. Use the following questions: 1. What happened?, how do you feel? 2. What did you learn from this? 3. How will you apply this? 4. How will you use this experience to help others? If parents do this, you will not harm the mind of the child, you will give them a critical insight into actions both of good and bad consequences. A Principal’s Office is not an interrogation room but it is a life classroom where many valuable lessons are taught.
Student Achievements พิสูจน์ศักยภาพวิชาการนักเรียนสาธิตรังสิตด้วย 6 รางวัล เพชรยอดมงกุฎ ครั้งที่ 10 การเรียนด้วยระบบทวิภาษาแบบองค์รวมของโรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิตได้พิสูจน์ผลด้วยรางวัลด้านเพชรยอดมงกุฎ (รางวัล ชมเชย) ด้านภาษาอังกฤษระดับประถมศึกษา และมัธยมศึกษาจ�ำนวน 5 คน และภาษาจีนจ�ำนวน 1 คน จากจ�ำนวนผู้เข้าแข่งขันซึ่งเป็นนักเรียนดี เด่นทั่วประเทศกว่า 500 คน ส�ำหรับโรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิตนั้น เด็กชายยูตะ โทมิต้า นักเรียนระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2/C และ เด็กชายพรภูเบศ หาญธรรมธง นักเรียนระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3/B ได้รับรางวัลชมเชยและทุนการศึกษา 1,000 บาท ด้านภาษาอังกฤษ ระดับ มัธยมศึกษา เด็กหญิงฐิติรัตน์ รัตนนลิน ชั้น ป. 6B เด็กหญิงธารา เอมิลี่ โอเฮอร์ดี้ ชั้น ป.6 A และเด็กชายต้นกันย์ เสกขุนทด ณ ถลาง ได้รับรางวัล ชมเชยด้านภาษาอังกฤษ ระดับประถมศึกษา และเด็กหญิงวรกร มุกขยวงศ์ ชั้น ป. 6 A ได้รับรางวัลชมเชยด้านภาษาจีน ระดับประถมศึกษา
Witnessing the academic potential of SBS students with 6 Awards from the 10th Crown Diamond Competition
The Unified Bilingual Education system has proven its success winning 6 awards (Complimentary Awards) from the 10th Crown Diamond Competition in English and Chinese. In this competition, there were more than 500 contestants who were top talents from their respective schools across the country. Six of our students won complimentary awards. Master Yuta Tumita M2C and Mr. Pornpubeth Harnthamthong M3B won their awards in English for Secondary School level, while Miss Thitirat Tattananalin, P6B, Miss Tara Emily Doherty P6A, and Master Ton-Gan Sekhoonthod Na Thaland won their awards in English for Primary School. Miss Woragorn Mukayawong P6A won her ward for Chinese in Secondary School.

สาธิตรังสิต จัดค่ายแห่งการเรียนรู้ “KG Super Kids October’ Camp 2015”
โรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต จัดกิจกรรมค่ายแห่งการเรียนรู้ส�ำหรับนักเรียนชั้นอนุบาล “KG Super Kids October’ Camp 2015” โดยตลอดค่ายแห่งการเรียนรู้ครั้งนี้ เด็กๆ จะได้เสริมสร้างพัฒนาการในทุกด้านแบบองค์รวม โดยการเรียนรู้ผ่านจินตนาการ ความคิดสร้างสรรค์และ ประสบการณ์จริง จากหัวข้อที่น่าสนใจต่างๆ อาทิ Be a Super Hero, Delve into the World Animals, Become a Chef, Adventures in Space และ Art Fun ซึ่งดูแลโดยคุณครูผู้เชี่ยวชาญและมากประสบการณ์จากโรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต
SBS hold “KG Super Kids October’ Camp 2015” Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University held a learning camp for Kindergarten students, called “KG Super Kids October’ Camp 2015”. Throughout this camp, the children developed their holistic skills in all aspects by learning through imagination, creativity and real experience from interesting topics such as ‘Be a Super Hero’, ‘Delve into the World of Animals, Become a Chef, Adventures in Space and Art Fun which was supervised by experts and experienced teachers from SBS.

เรี ย นรู ้ น อกห้ อ งเรี ย นผ่ า นประสบการณ์ ต รงกั บ ค่ า ยกิ จ กรรม ทัศนศึกษาเชิงปฏิบติการ “English Power Camp in Chiangmai” การเรียนรู้ที่โรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิตไม่ได้เกิดขึ้นแต่ เฉพาะในชั้นเรียนหรือในโรงเรียนเท่านั้น การเรียนรู้ผ่านประสบการณ์ตรง ด้วยกิจกรรมปฏิสัมพันธ์ และกระบวนการกลุ่มช่วยให้เด็กๆ เร่งกระบวนการ เรียนรู้แบบองค์รวม และได้รับความสนุกสนานไปพร้อมๆ กัน ในช่วงปิด ภาคเรียนเดือนตุลาคมที่ผ่านมา โรงเรียนฯ จัดค่ายทัศนศึกษาเชิงปฎิบัติการ “English Power Camp in Chiangmai” เพื่อให้นักเรียนได้มีโอกาสเรียนรู้ ด้านสังคมและวัฒนธรรม ควบคู่การเรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์จริงผ่านภาษา อังกฤษ โดยมีนักเรียนในระดับชั้นประถมศึกษา - มัธยมศึกษา ให้ความ สนใจและเข้าร่วมการเดินทาง จ�ำนวน 21 คน ภายใต้การดูแลอย่างใกล้ชิด ของคุณครูวริยากร อัศววงศานนท์ ครูประจ�ำชั้นระดับมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ตลอดระยะเวลา 6 วัน 5 คืน ในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่
Outside Class learning through hands-on experience during at “English Power Camp in Chiangmai” At Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University, learning does not occur only inside the classroom or at school, it happens through hands-on experience through interactive activities and group processes which help stimulate the holistic learning and development of children. During this October break, SBS organized an excursion camp “English Power Camp in Chiangmai” to allow students to learn about social and cultural aspects of Chiangmai in English through direct exposure. There were 21 students from primary and secondary schools who participated in the program with close supervision of Kru Viriyakorn Assawongsanon, homeroom teacher of M.1. Throughout six days and five nights, they all learned and had a lot of fun.

ธาลาซา สาวน้อยมหัศจรรย์ แห่งสาธิตรังสิต
การสร้างลักษณะ การรู้ตน ความมั่นใจ และความคิด สร้างสรรค์ของเด็กเป็นสิ่งส�ำคัญที่ก�ำหนดอนาคต และความมั่นใจใน การเลือกอาชีพของตนเมื่อเติบโตขึ้น ธาราซา (Thalassa Tapia Ruano Ferrand) เป็นตัวอย่างของการเลือกเรียนในระบบการศึกษาสองภาษา ที่เปิดกว้างทางความคิด และการเรียนการสอนผ่านกระบวนการ และ การสร้างปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้เรียน กิจกรรมและผู้สอน ธาลาซาเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 4 แผนการเรียน ศิลป์-ดนตรี โรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต สาวน้อยมากความ สามารถที่ทั้งร้อง เต้น และแสดง จนล่าสุดได้รับเลือกว่าเป็นเยาวชน ศักยภาพสูงสุดเพียง 15 คนจากทั่วประเทศ เข้าร่วมโครงการ Yes Academy ASEAN 2015 ซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมการรวมตัวของผู้ที่หลงรักใน ดนตรี และการแสดงจากประเทศในภูมิภาคอาเซียน ธาราซาเริ่มเรียน กับโรงเรียนสาธิตแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยรังสิตมาตั้งแต่ชั้นประถมศึกษา ธาลาซารู้สึกดีใจมากที่คลิปเพลงที่ส่งเข้าประกวดผ่านการอ อดิชั่นด้านการแสดง และรู้สึกภูมิใจที่ได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งในโครงการนี้ และเป็นตัวแทนสาธิตรังสิตรวมไปถึงเยาวชนไทยในภูมิภาคอาเซียน โอกาสนี้ท�ำให้ Thalassa มีโอกาสได้เจอกับน้องร้อง นักแสดงชั้นน�ำจาก ทั่วเอเชีย นอกจากโครงการ Yes Academy ASEAN 2015 แล้ว Thalassa ยังได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการเดินทางร่วมคลาสซ้อมการแสดงที่ Westend Street ณ นครลอนดอน ประเทศอังกฤษ ประสบการณ์เหล่านี้
เป็นโอกาสล�้ำค่าเพราะได้รับประสบการณ์ตรงจากมืออาชีพเพื่อใช้ใน การพัฒนาตนเองต่อไป ธาลาซาไม่เคยเสียใจกับสิ่งที่เลือก และมั่นใจว่าตนเองได้ เลือกเรียนในสิ่งที่รักด้วยความมุ่งมั่น สิ่งที่สาธิตรังสิตปลูกฝังให้นั้น ท�ำให้มั่นใจว่าตนเองเลือกไม่ผิด เพราะที่โรงเรียนฯ สอนและเปิดโอกาส ให้เรียนรู้จากประสบการณ์จริงผ่านรูปแบบความเป็นสองภาษาอย่าง แท้จริง ที่สามารถท�ำให้เราประสบความส�ำเร็จทั้งในแง่การเรียน การใช้ ชีวิต และความเป็นผู้น�ำในสังคมอันหลากหลาย รวมถึงการพัฒนา ทักษะด้านการแสดงและดนตรีที่ตนเองรักตลอดเวลา เพื่อเป็นการ เตรี ย มความพร้ อ มพร้ อ มและต่ อ ยอดสู ่ ก ารเข้ า ศึ ก ษาในระดั บ มหาวิทยาลัยทั้งในและต่างประเทศในอนาคต “หนูไม่รู้ ว่าคนอื่นจะมองหนูเป็นเพียงเด็กที่มีแต่ความ สามารถด้านการแสดงหรือไม่ แต่สิ่งที่หนูได้จากโรงเรียนฯ ท�ำให้หนูได้ ไปในทุกๆ ที่ในระดับนานาชาติด้วยความสามารถ นั่นคือ การที่หนูได้ เผยแพร่วัฒนธรรมไทยให้กับชาวต่างชาติได้รับรู้บนความสามารถ และ แน่นอนการที่เลือกเรียนที่สาธิตรังสิต ยิ่งท�ำให้รู้สึกว่าได้พัฒนาตนเอง จากที่นี่ ทั้งด้านวิชาการ ภาษา เทคโนโลยี โดยที่ไม่ลืมรากเหง้า วัฒนธรรมไทย ซึ่งท�ำให้หนูมั่นใจทุกครั้งต่อหน้าชาวต่างชาติ”
Secondary School News Thalassa Tapia-Ruano Ferrand: A Wonder Girl from Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University
Building character, self-awareness, confidence and creativity in a child is very important in shaping their future career choice. Thalassa Tapia-Ruano Ferrand is a perfect example of how bilingual education can broaden the mind of learners. Thalassa is an M4 student in the music track of Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University. She is a real talent in both music and performing arts and was selected to be in the top 15 most talented youths across the country to participate in Yes Academy ASEAN 2015. The program is a gathering of music and performance lovers across the country and ASEAN regions. Thalassa has been studying at SBS since her primary school years. Thalassa was very happy that her singing clips passed the audition and was proud to be a representative of SBS and other ASEAN youths. The program allowed her the opportunity to meet some of the best actors and singers from all over ASIA. Apart from Yes Academy ASEAN 2015, Thalassa had also been selected to participate in the rehearsal class at West End Street in London, UK. The opportunity to gain experience through working with real professionals will be invaluable in developing her skills and future success. Thalassa has never regretted her career choice and is determined to continue in music and performing arts. Studying at SBS has instilled Thalassa with the confidence which is necessary for success.. At SBS, students to learn from hands-on experience through a truly bilingual education which aims to nurture success in studies, lives, and leadership. Thalassa, through studying in a bilingual school, is enjoying constant development and growth in her beloved music and performing arts. “What I get from SBS has led me to where I am now with my talents. It has given me the opportunity to learn Thai culture, and made me aware of my capabilities.
