CONSERVATORY OF THE ARTS Tuition and Fees Tuition and Fees Session 2: January 16th, 2024 - March 15th Group Classes Cost Per Session: Piano Lab: $330 Drawing and Painting: $330 Sculpture: $330 Jewelry Construction: $330 Ceramics: $330 Music for Little Beethovens: $330 Ballroom Dance: $340 Guitar: $330 Violin: $330 Additionally, students who wish to enroll in individual lessons after school will benefit from our private lessons at an additional cost. Private Lesson: 30-Minute Lesson: $40 1 hour Lesson: $70 Payment for private lessons is due one month in advance. **$20 One time yearly registration fee.

Enroll online at www.sagemont.com Cancellation Policy: Participants who do not attend their registered session or who do not contact us to cancel two weeks prior to the start date will not receive a refund or credit. Classes start and end on time; classes will not be extended due to tardiness. Arrive at least five minutes prior to class time beginning. By submitting your payment, you are agreeing to the policy outlined above. Full payment is due at the time of registration.

Sagemont Prep Conservatory of the Arts All Conservatory of the Arts classes are open to the community. Sagemont Preparatory students will have preferred access to the classes of their choice. Beginner Piano Lab: This class is designed for students with little or no keyboard experience who want to learn basic keyboard skills. Basic notation, theory, technique, sight-reading, repertoire, harmonization, improvisation, and ensemble activities are taught thoroughly and consistently. Students will learn basic piano playing skills, which include proper playing position, note names, and the locations of the notes on the staff about their placement on the keyboard. Harmonically, students will learn to identify, construct and play note intervals, major, minor, and chromatic scales and construct and perform major and minor chords on basic keys. Students will be introduced to ear training, dynamics, articulation markings, and notation symbols as they learn to interpret a variety of pieces in different styles with appropriate characteristic tones. Program Fee: $330 Music for Little Beethovens: In this dynamic and interactive class, your child will embark on a musical journey filled with creativity, exploration, and the joy of learning to play the piano. Student talents will flourish as they learn, create, and connect through the enchanting world of piano music giving your young pianist the gift of music that will last a lifetime! Price: $330 Drawing and Painting: Students will develop a further understanding of drawing and painting techniques used to create masterpieces. Students will experiment with various drawing tools such as pencils, markers, colored pencils, charcoal, and brushes. Students will learn about different techniques, artists, and the color wheel with its endless combinations. Students will be introduced to the seven elements of art and principles of design so they can create their own style of artwork. Students will develop fine motor and critical thinking skills and expand their appreciation for other art forms and communities worldwide. Price: $330 Sculpture: This class focuses on developing ideas, conceptual reasoning, and safely using materials and processes associated with classical and contemporary sculpture. Students will work on a sequence of assignments exploring both formal and conceptual issues. This class covers non-functional ceramics and ways to use clay to create sculptures. Students create freestanding, handmade pieces using sculptural techniques, including coil building, form molding, and carving, and work with simple clay forms. Price: $330 Jewelry Construction: Have you ever seen an amazing piece of beaded jewelry and wondered how it was made? Now you have the chance to learn the art and secrets! Learn how to create incredible necklaces, earrings, and bracelets that you’ll love wearing and sharing. The class concludes with a chance to showcase your jewelry at our very own fashionable jewelry show! Price: $330


Sagemont Prep Conservatory of the Arts Guitar and Violin: Sunset Strings Academy sets the foundation for young students to begin learning stringed instruments in a fun, age-appropriate way. Our mission is to teach children to work together harmoniously to achieve their goals of learning to play the guitar or violin. Educational studies have shown that introducing music to a child’s life will benefit them socially and emotionally and help build confidence, friendships, and a genuine appreciation for music. We are a unique ensemble of extraordinary Music Specialists focused on mentoring string orchestral students in a safe, loving environment conducive to serenity, peace, and mindfulness. Instruments are not included and must be bought or rented prior to class. Price: $330 Ballroom Dance: Students who have had little or no instruction in these styles of dance should begin their instruction here. The purpose of this class is to build confidence and gain additional dance experience with a partner. This class introduces students to the art and styles of social ballroom dancing and provides the necessary skills and understanding for an appreciation of the artistic, social qualities and etiquette needed for each of the dances. Price: $340 Ceramics: In this hands-on intensive, students will master techniques including throwing pots, sculpting clay, firing pieces, and glazing, creating sturdy ceramic structures while conducting a creative design process. Students will also learn to properly use ceramic materials and tools such as spinning wheels, kilns, and other hand-crafting sculpting tools to achieve their creative vision with the ceramic medium. Price: $330


HELEDYS RODRIGUEZ CLASSICAL PIANIST Heledys Rodriguez is an accomplished classically trained pianist. Ms. Rodriguez studied at Enrique Jose Varona University in Cuba. After completing three years of studies under virtuoso pianist Marylin Gessa in Cuba, Ms. Rodriguez moved to the United States. She continued her musical education at Florida International University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and graduating Cum Laude. She continued her piano studies under Dr. Miguel Salvador and Dr. José Raul Lopez during those years. Ms. Rodriguez was also the accompanist for the Florida International University's choirs under conductor Dr. John Augenblick. Ms. Rodriguez continued her education at FIU, earning her Master's in Music Production. While studying at FIU, Ms. Rodriguez established a private studio Ninetynine Music Academy. As an active member of the "National Guild of Piano Teachers" and "Florida Music Teachers Association," she has prepared numerous students for competitions, recitals, and examinations at a national level. Her work also includes working with children's, youth and adult choirs. Leading ensembles and producing shows for elementary, middle and high schools in the Miami and Broward areas. She is currently working on the recording and release of her solo piano album "Seasons of a Soul." Ms. Rodriguez's greatest passion is to be able to share the joy of making music and art with everyone around her and to inspire children and young adults to develop a love for music and art as they embark on the best journey anyone can ever take: "the journey of being able to communicate through an instrument or a brush what many others can only dream about."


JULIO CESAR BANASCO REGO FINE ARTS ARTIST Julio Cesar Banasco Rego’s dream as a young boy was to be an artist. What started as a dream led him to a 12year artistic training and a lifetime of devotion to art. Mr. Banasco graduated with a golden diploma from the ENA (National School of the Arts). He continued his studies, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts Education from the Enrique José Varona Pedagogical Institute of Havana. Mr. Banasco has participated in collaborative and personal exhibits worldwide and has garnered many awards. Mr. Banasco is a trained art restorer, conservator, and independent artist. Mr. Banasco’s work can be found in private collections in Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Belgium, Holland, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, England, the United States, and Canada. Teaching is one of his biggest passions. Transforming what he has learned to others and seeing their progress is one of the best rewards in his professional career. Mr. Basnasco never stops learning and exploring new techniques and materials to work with, and he imparts this to his students. Mr. Banasco is a passionate student of his art and an extraordinary educator.


MARIA PRIETO SANCHEZ

ARTIST Ms. Prieto Sanchez is an accomplished educator with over ten years of teaching experience. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with a minor in Art History from Florida International University. Ms. Prieto Sanchez also studied abroad at the Lorenzo Medici School of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy, the birthplace of the Renaissance, focusing on art, specifically painting, mosaics, and marble sculpting, and studying the Italian language. She has participated in various exhibitions, including a juried CityWide Art Show in Florance, Italy. Ms. Prieto Sanchez has also worked as a Technical Illustrator for five years producing reference drawings of footwear and accessories. Ms. Prieto Sanchez was a lead vocalist for several bands and had a well-known holiday single on air. She did background vocals for a South Florida band's fourth major album, which sold over 130,000 copies in the US. Ms. Prieto Sanchez has an immense focus on art and history. Her students do not merely focus on the art but always explore all artists' backgrounds and impact. Students, young and old, gravitate to Ms. Prieto Sanchez due to the nurturing environment that is present that allows all artists to explore and examine their full potential. Ms. Prieto Sanchez is excited to share her passion for art and teaching children.


CECILIA PALACIOS ARTIST Meet Cecilia Palacios, a passionate and accomplished jewelry designer and educator with a flair for transforming raw materials into wearable works of art. Cecilia believes in fostering creativity and proficiency in each young student. Her teaching philosophy revolves around hands-on learning, encouraging students to explore their unique artistic voice. Cecilia is known for creating a dynamic learning environment that sparks innovation and fosters a deep appreciation for the art of jewelry making. Her journey in the world of jewelry began years ago, after leaving the corporate world. Today, she instills a passion for the art form in her students, empowering them with child-friendly materials to find their voice in the world of jewelry design.


MELISSA LEY JASON KOENIG VIOLIN & GUITAR Melissa Ley’s love of music began as a child when she played piano in grade school. Once she graduated from the University of Florida and settled in Plantation in 1994, she began taking violin lessons. Melissa has played violin for 20+ years under the instruction of violinist Charles Anton. She is passionate about music, especially the violin. Hans Zimmer, Michael Giacchino, Lindsey Stirling, and John Williams are some of her favorite composers. Melissa looks forward to making an impact on your child’s musical development!

Jason Koenig is a native South Floridian and expert guitarist. He began playing when he was ten years old and stood out as a musician after winning a talent show titled "Mr. Titan" in high school, singing and playing a Red-Hot Chili Peppers song. Jason is a well-versed, contemporary musician as well as a multi-instrumentalist with experience playing the piano, bass, drums, and guitar. He has an "Operator Level" certificate from Avid ProTools, the "Industry Standard' music production software, making his approach to music up to date with the current trends in technology and sound.”


NATALYA PESHKOVA BALLROOM DANCE Natalya Peshkova is a renowned Ballroom and Latin Dance Coach, Judge, and Choreographer. With over twenty years of experience, Natalya has deep professional knowledge of Ballroom and Latin dance techniques. She holds a degree in Pedagogue-Choreograph of Ballroom Dancing. She is also a USADANCE Championship level certified adjudicator in Latin, Ballroom, Theatre Arts, American Rhythm, and American Smooth. As the founder of PeshkovDanceLab, Natalya is passionate about cultivating an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged.
