TOGETHER AGAIN. The Official Bank of the 28th Annual SAG Awards®

City National® proudly celebrates the entertainment industry and the performers who make it shine. Since our founding here in Los Angeles in 1954, we’ve always supported the community that first inspired us. Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees.

February 27, 2022 To our fellow members of SAG-AFTRA, Tonight the Actors Party in the Actor’s House once again takes flight, and what better way than to inaugurate a new space in Barker Hangar? The Screen Actors Guild Awards® — your show — has always supported the SAGAFTRA Foundation’s work, and this year in particular the Foundation’s support for our SAG-AFTRA professionals has proven paramount in taking care of members who are confronting economic and health-related hardships. Also this evening we honor Dame Helen Mirren with the 57th Life Achievement Award. Always and foremost an actor’s actor, Mirren has enchanted audiences, and her peers, with appearances in over seventy films including The Queen, Gosford Park, Age of Consent, The Long Good Friday, Excalibur, The Mosquito Coast, and The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. Over her esteemed career she has received multiple SAG Awards, an Oscar®, a BAFTA Award and four Emmys®. To date, Mirren is the most decorated SAG Life Achievement recipient with a total of thirteen SAG Awards® nominations and five SAG Awards Actor® wins. Besides performing on stage, screen and television, she devotes much time to a range of charitable organizations including Meals on Wheels, SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young, Women For Women International, and Freedom From Torture. We are grateful to the Directors Guild of America, the Writers Guild of America, and the American Federation of Musicians, whose generosity enables the presentation of every film and television clip you see tonight. IATSE and the Teamsters have always supported the SAG Awards as well. 123,496 members were eligible to vote this year. Your favorite performances have been tallied, and the results will be viewed by millions watching live on TNT and TBS across traditional and streaming platforms, and will be made available on HBO Max the next day. The telecast is viewed internationally as well, including at U.S. military installations through the Armed Forces Network. Every year, we are inspired by the performances of our nominees and fellow SAG-AFTRA members. This year, beyond being moved by them, we are grateful to all of the artists whose work has comforted us, entertained us, and helped us through another exceptionally difficult year. Keep up your amazing work and stay safe. SAG-AFTRA Board of Directors

Helen Mirren SAG Awards and Oscar winning actress Dame Helen Mirren has been named the 57th recipient of SAG-AFTRA’s highest tribute: the SAG Life Achievement Award for career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment. ®

HONORS IN SEVERAL DISCIPLINES The SAG Life Achievement Award will join Mirren’s esteemed catalog of international industry and public distinctions recognizing her masterful performances on stage, screen, and television. Her previous honors have included an Oscar, multiple SAG Awards, three Emmys®, numerous BAFTA Awards, a Tony Award®, a BAFTA Fellowship Award, The Film Society at Lincoln Center’s Chaplin Award, and she was made a Dame of the British Empire in 2003. To date, Mirren is the most decorated SAG Life Achievement recipient with a total of thirteen SAG Awards nominations and five SAG Awards Actor® wins. PROLIFIC FILM CAREER Over the course of Mirren’s illustrious film career, she has earned international acclaim for her appearance in more than seventy films. Her first major film was Age of Consent in 1969, and had her breakthrough performance in The Long Good Friday in 1980. Early films have included Excalibur, Cal, The Mosquito Coast, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, and Where Angels Fear to Tread. In 2006, she received an Academy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and BAFTA Award for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen. Her critically acclaimed performance in the 2001 film Gosford Park earned her dual SAG Awards, one for Female Actor in a Supporting Role and a second as part of the winning cast. Mirren also received Oscar nominations for her performances in The Madness of King George, Gosford Park, and The Last Station. Among her other film credits are Some Mother’s Son, on which she also served as associate producer, Calendar Girls, The Clearing, State of Play, and The Tempest. Recent films include F9, The Good Liar, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, The Leisure Seeker and Trumbo. Previous works include 100 Foot Journey, Hitchcock for which she was nominated for a SAG Award among others, RED and RED 2, The Debt and The Door. Mirren will next be seen in Sony Pictures Classics’ The Duke with Jim Broadbent, due for release in Spring 2022, and Lionsgate’s White Bird: A Wonder Story, to be released later in 2022. She most recently finished filming Golda in the title role of Golda Meir, and Warner Bros.’ highly anticipated Shazam! sequel, Shazam! Fury of the Gods. ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN TELEVISION On television, Mirren starred in the award-winning series Prime Suspect as Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison where she earned an Emmy Award and three BAFTA Awards. She won another Emmy Award when she reprised the role in 2006’s Prime Suspect 7: The Final Act, the last installment in the PBS series. In 2013, she starred with Al Pacino in the HBO biopic Phil Spector, for which she won a SAG Award

for her performance and was nominated for an Emmy. Mirren was also honored for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I in the HBO miniseries Elizabeth I, winning a SAG Award and an Emmy. Her long list of television credits also includes Losing Chase, The Passion of Ayn Rand, Door to Door, and The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone, earning Emmy and SAG Award nominations and awards. She was most recently seen in Amazon’s Solos, Netflix’s comedy special Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine and the four-part, limited series for HBO/SKY in the title role of Catherine the Great. STARTING ON THE STAGE Mirren began her career in the role of Cleopatra at the National Youth Theatre and then joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, where she starred in such productions as Troilus and Cressida and Macbeth. In 1972, she joined renowned director Peter Brook’s theatre company and toured the world. On stage, Mirren reprised her role as Queen Elizabeth II on Broadway in The Audience, a play by Peter Morgan, directed by Stephen Daldry, for which she won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. In 2009, Helen’s performance in Phèdre at the National Theatre garnered her an Olivier Award nomination. In 2013 she debuted her stage role of Elizabeth II in The Audience in London’s West End, for which she received the Olivier Award and Evening Standard Award, and 2014 WhatsOnStage Award, for Best Actress. Letters opposite Candice Bergen. PHILANTHROPIC WORKS Outside of performing on the stage, screen and television, Mirren devotes her time to supporting a range of charitable organizations including Meals on Wheels, which operates across America to address senior hunger and isolation, and SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young, a national non-profit organization that provides support, advocacy and life-changing experiences for young people who stutter. She has hosted a number of SAY events promoting their work empowering children who stutter. Mirren was recognized at Variety’s 2016 Power of Women event for her work with the organization. Additionally, Mirren was named an Ambassador for Women For Women International, a charity that supports women who have been the victims of war by providing education and job skills training. Her global advocacy efforts also include work with Freedom From Torture, a charity providing torture victims with therapeutic care, and Refuge, a U.K. based charity helping to rebuild the lives of women and children who are survivors of violence and abuse.

A LETTER FROM THE SAG-AFTRA Foundation PRESIDENT Dear SAG Awards® Nominees and Supporters, As we begin to emerge from an unprecedented couple of years, I feel grateful to have been given the opportunity to lead our nonprofit SAG-AFTRA Foundation through this most challenging time, because together, we’ve been able to lift up our fellow artists who’ve needed help the most. Thanks to our collective effort, we made a spectacular showing - giving hope, help, and over $7 million in COVID-19 emergency financial assistance to over 7,500 SAG-AFTRA members in urgent need. Unfortunately, the economic fallout from the pandemic is still affecting many within our SAG-AFTRA family. We anticipate this year we will need to raise more than $800,000 in emergency assistance for our SAG-AFTRA family members. The economic recovery just isn’t happening quickly enough for them to cover basic living expenses like rent, groceries, and utilities. Happily, our Foundation has continued to empower our SAG-AFTRA family to be more prepared and competitive in our rapidly changing industry. Since March 2020, our Foundation has offered over 4,800 remote courses and virtual labs to more than 87,000 participants from every local affiliate in the country. Our SAG-AFTRA family will continue to turn to our Foundation to gain new skills, master the art of remote auditioning, learn new software programs, and more. Last, but definitely not least, our Foundation’s award-winning children’s literacy program Storyline Online® surpassed 800 million views worldwide during the pandemic! Our free educational resource has absolutely proven to be an invaluable teaching tool for educators, parents, and caregivers alike. All of our Foundation’s programs are offered at no cost, and are funded entirely by donations, which include a portion of the proceeds from our annual SAG Awards show and its generous sponsors. We are a resilient, generous, and kind community. Let’s continue to join together in support of our recovery efforts that will advance the long-term stability of our creative community, expand equity and opportunity, and revitalize our industry for years to come. Congratulations, to all of you, on your brilliant and award-worthy work. You’re all winners in my book. Grace and Peace,
