Triple Talaq declared as unconstitutional •

The Supreme Court has banned Triple Talaq for the next six months while announcing the historic decision.

Till the Parliament does not think over it, the Triple Talaq will be banned.

The court has asked the central government to make a law about it in Parliament.

Shayara Bano had filed an application in court against Triple Talaq.

Shayra argued that Triple Talaq is neither a part of Islam nor of faith.

The Jury bench included Chief Justice J.S. Khehar (Sikh), Justice Kurian Joseph (Christian), Justice Rohington F Nariman (Persian), Justice U.U. Lalit (Hindu) and Justice Abdul Nazir (Muslim).

37 percent increase in FDI •

During the first quarter of the current financial year, foreign direct investment has reached 37 percent to $ 10.4 billion.

According to DIPP data, during the period April-June 2016-17, FDI was $ 7.59 billion in the country.

According to the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, during this period, there was a FDI of 10 billion 40 million US dollars in the country.

The most foreign investment has been done in services, telecommunications, business, computer hardware and software and auto industry sectors.


No more waiting for passport •

There will be no need for actual police verification from next year to make a passport.

The Center is connecting this process with crime and crime tracking network system CCTNS.

Central Home Secretary, Rajiv Maharishi told in a program in New Delhi yesterday that CCTNS can join the Foreign Ministry’s passport service within one year.

The police verification will be done online after this.

Urad and moong dal in restricted category •

The government has imposed the import of urad and moong dal in the restricted category.

Their maximum limit of import has been fixed at three lakh tonnes per annum.

This step will help in stabilizing prices in the domestic market.

Prices of these pulses have also gone below the minimum support price, which is causing loss to the farmers.

Kalpit Virval created World Record •

Kalpit Virval has scored Hundred Percent marks in the renowned JEE Entrance Exam and managed to add his name to the Limca Book of World Records.

He scored 360 out of 360 in JEE-Mains.

He is now studying computer science at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

His achievement will be added in the education achievement category of the Limca Book of Records in the edition of 2018.

Supreme Court grants bail to Lieutenant Colonel Shrikant Prasad Purohit •

The Supreme Court has granted bail to Lieutenant Colonel Shrikant Prasad Purohit regarding the 2008 Malegaon serial blast case.

The bench of Justices RK Agrawal and AM Sapre set aside the Bombay High Court order, by which the bail was denied.

The apex court has imposed certain conditions on Purohit while granting bail.

Seven people were killed in the bomb blast on 29th September, 2008 at Malegaon in Nasik district of Maharashtra.
