SUSTAINABLE STATIONERY Set the tone for your special day with gorgeous, eco-friendly and sustainable stationery. Kick off conscious wedding planning with paper made from straw, denim, and hemp pulp, meaning no trees are cut down in the process. The beautiful washed indigo envelope is composed of denim thread waste, giving it it’s unique blue color and texture. Each piece is custom designed with as much or as little of the recycled fibers as you desire. The envelope liner is biodegradable eco-paper that is made with postconsumer materials and embedded with seeds. When the paper is planted in a pot of soil, the seeds grow and the paper composts away. All that is left behind are flowers or herbs.

Mariano + Javier ASPEN
Mariano and Javier met in a true old school fashion, while at a bar. They made eye contact with one another and the rest is history! After three and a half years of dating, the couple exchanged vintage wedding bands. This special pair of antique rings held a love story like no other. Engraved inside was a date, May 15, 1939. Mariano and Javier decided to keep the original engraving and honor the day with a celebration for the couple who owned the rings before them. Mariano and Javier said, “I do” on May 15th.

Chandler + Amanuel IDAHO SPRINGS Chandler and Amanuel met while at a public accounting welcome event. Each year, second year audit associates at the firm choose a first year associate to mentor and support throughout the year. Amanuel wisely chose Chandler from the list assuming that “he” would be a cool dude from Oregon. When Chandler’s name was called during orientation, Amanuel was astounded to learn that Chandler was in fact a female. In the summer of 2016, they became more than close friends and officially began dating. Three years later, Amanuel planned a hike to the Anemone Loop Trail in Boulder, having a professional photographer standing by. Little did Chandler know that the trek would include a proposal too. Amanuel popped the question on the beautiful retreat. The couple celebrated their engagement with what Chandler thought was a dinner date; much to her surprise she was greeted by family and friends! Chandler and Amanuel planned a bright and organic wedding for June 27th.

“Figure out what is important to you as a couple, and set your budget based on those expectations. Make sure to get a great team of vendors to support you and listen to your gut. There are so many opinions with wedding planning, but at the end of the day you need to make decisions based on what you want as a couple. Also, pause a couple times during your special day and take mental snapshots, everything can be a blur so, it’s nice to have little moments to look back on and cherish.”

The couple brought color to their tented reception through coastal blue tablecloths and orange accents. Guests were guided to their seats by personalized place cards attached to fresh oranges atop white dinnerware. Other creative uses of citrus included sliced wedges added to the floral centerpieces by Bello & Blue Events. Inspired by Amanuel’s Ethiopian culture, a two-tiered cake was designed with a traditional Ethiopian weaving pattern.

Zimmie + Rex DENVER
When Zimmie was asked to stop by Coors Field to help capture footage for a nonprofit organization, she never imagined her future husband would be there. The two hit it off right away, but Zimmie moved to Los Angeles shortly after and Rex began a bike ride across the United States. While both in Los Angeles the pair crossed paths again, and dove deeper into getting to know each other. They spent that year writing back and forth only to discover feelings as time pressed on. Seven years later, Rex proposed to Zimmie surrounded by their closest friends and family. Zimmie and Rex planned a vibrant wedding for July 3rd. Guests gathered at The Carla Madison Recreation Center Rooftop, perched high above Colfax Avenue in Denver offering unparalleled views of The Mile High City. As creatives, Zimmie and Rex had a very clear vision of what they wanted. The vibe was electric and punk-rock inspired with personal details woven throughout. Each member of the bridal party entered the ceremony with a song of their choice, similar to what baseball players have chosen as their walk-up songs. Dancing took place at the Bluebird Theater where a female fronted garage pop rock ‘n’ roll duo, Bruiser Queen, kept the reception funky.

Elisha + Jack BRECKENRIDGE Elisha and Jack met, or should we say matched, on Hinge in 2019. The two bonded over their mutual love of pineapple on pizza. After weeks of chatting, Elisha and Jack met in person for their first date and soon became inseparable. With the ongoing pandemic, Jack’s original proposal plans fell through more than once. He soon realized the circumstances would require him to embrace an impromptu proposal to keep the element of surprise. The following Sunday after Easter, the couple took their young children to the Riverfront in Kansas City, Missouri. While there, Jack got down on one knee and asked Elisha’s daughter, Valynn, if he could marry her mom. He even presented a special ring just for her. Once Valynn gave her blessing, Jack proposed to Elisha. She, of course, said, “Yes!” Elisha and Jack planned a boho chic elopement for July 9th.

Elisha chose different shades of green with neutral rustic tones to complement the natural surroundings. Though the couple resides in Kansas City, they loved the idea of exchanging vows in a breathtaking and private setting with nature. The bride shares, “Our elopement was a dream come true. Eloping in the mountains and not worrying about pleasing guests provided us with a stress-free day. The seclusion gave our family a more intimate ceremony in a beautiful environment.”

Lauren + Joey PA R K E R Lauren and Joey’s first date was at a trendy restaurant in their hometown of South Bend, Indiana. Yet they were predestined to meet long before that. Two years later, Joey got down on one knee atop the rocky summit of Chief Mountain overlooking the alpine forest at sunset in Evergreen. COLORADO SPRINGS Allyson and Stephen met seven years ago during their senior year of college at the University of Oregon. While at a local campus bar one evening, Stephen recognized Allyson after she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live representing their alma mater and striked up a conversation. The couple dated for the next few months leading up to graduation before taking their relationship long-distance. After a year of living in separate states, Stephen moved to Portland, Oregon where Allyson resided. The couple was living in Portland at the time when Stephen began planning to propose with the help of Allyson’s two close friends. Coincidentally, the pair lived down the road from a small white church where Allyson’s parents were married. One day, Stephen suggested taking a morning walk followed by brunch with friends who were in town visiting. The leisurely stroll ended at the church that symbolized love and marriage, and Stephen popped the question. Moments later, the couple’s parents and family members appeared! Allyson and Stephen planned a vintage, bohemian elopement for July 12th.

Initially, Allyson and Stephen planned a traditional wedding in Portland with all of their friends and family in attendance, but with the pandemic looming the pair made the decision to postpone such a large celebration and have an intimate elopement in Colorado where they call home. “Not many people get to have a wedding in two beautiful states, we feel so lucky that we get the best of both worlds!” Allyson shares.

Sami + Jack B A S A LT Sami and Jack met through mutual friends in Portland, Oregon while at a Bluegrass show nearly ten years ago. Neither of them thought about a future together as they were both in relationships at the time. A year later, Sami and Jack’s paths crossed again at another Bluegrass concert, but this time the pair were coincidentally single. Things just clicked, and so did a relationship! When a narrow window of favorable weather opened one morning, the couple decided to play hooky from work and escape to Mount Hood in hopes of reaching the summit. Although the forecast called for a breezy day, high winds ripped through at 60mph creating an unsafe environment. The duo pivoted direction and began to climb down the mountain. Once at their final descent, Jack turned to Sami, put his arms around her and proposed. “I don’t think he actually ever asked the question because I said, ‘Yes’ and we were both crying,” Sami reflects. Sami and Jack planned a western wedding for July 31st.

Amy Marshall + PENROSE Amy and Marshall were introduced to one another with the help of family members. Not only were their grandparents close friends, their parents went to high school together. After three months of dating, the Colorado-based pair took the next step in their relationship. Marshall popped the question at a Japanese restaurant. The couple recalls, “Marshall intended to propose during dinner, but his surprise didn’t quite go according to plan.” Not realizing other diners sit around the large hibachi grill in a group setting, he decided it was best to wait until the crowd departed from the table. “It was a bit awkward at the moment, but we look back and laugh about it now,” Amy says. Amy and Marshall celebrated 40 plus years of marriage with an anniversary session at their darling farmhouse home.

Tecla + Ernie FOWLER
What began as a meeting between two young Colorado natives in the 1960s became a real-life Rocky Mountain love story. Tecla and Ernie’s sisters were friends and decided they needed to introduce their siblings to one another. Ernie was home from the Navy at the time when Tecla agreed to meet the charming soldier. On the day of their first date, Ernie was nearly an hour late. Frustrated by his tardiness, Tecla told herself there was no way she would go out with him now. While that may have been true once Ernie made his arrival, Tecla peeked through the window to find a rather cute fellow. The pair fell for each other almost instantly and after three months of dating, Ernie proposed to Tecla. The rest is history! Tecla and Ernie celebrated 50 years of marriage with an anniversary session in Eastern Colorado, where their courtship began and the place they raised their children.
