Center I was sure it was going to be a tourist trap; and littered along the way would be the reputations of critics like mine for trying to describe a place which was sure to be a train wreck. Yet, I couldn’t be more naïve and more dense. Overlooking the picturesque Ice Skating Rink at Rockefeller Center, the view was the perfect accompaniment to a majestic and thoughtful meal. Winner of the prestigious 2007 Ivy Award, the restaurant is a stunning example of the very freshest oceanic delicacies, with ingredient-driven and locally sourced specialties. Continuously ranked among a handful of New York’s top seafood restaurants, the sublime cuisine and sleek, modern setting are highlighted by the spectacular views. Mouth watering creations combined in a beautiful setting made for a perfect evening. I was doubly lucky then that I brought my paramour with me. My dish. So I was praying that the meal was going to be superior. we were enthralled with the innovative cuisine that was light without being chowder with smoked bacon, lobster, shrimp and clams. It was a perfectly balanced soup and a great portent of things to come. We thoroughly enjoyed it! and wasabi-miso vinaigrette. The tuna was fresh (almost as if it was swimming) and we enjoyed the acidity of the wasabi-miso combination and the wonderful crunch from the apple. For an option that was inspired from the land, try the terrine of Berkshire pork and Hudson Valley foie gras. It was almost literally out-of-this-world. Our entrees consisted of the jumbo lump crab cakes with stone-ground mustard sauce and Nantucket Bay scallops with roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Both were divine. Those scallops, miniature pillows of pleasure in our mouths, were succulent in taste and perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were light and airy puffs of clouds on our plates. Mention should also be made of the crab cakes which were sweet and meaty and thoroughly consumed.
