London has always been a hotbed of creativity with Central St Martins as an incubator and launching pad for some of today’s most renowned young talent. While the Brits have an undeniable self effacing and charming humor, their restrained yet light hearted approach to life comes through their style which is classic with hints of humor, color, and wild patterns of an imagination with no boundaries. On the one hand there is the posh and proper Sloane Rangers of Knightsbridge and Mayfair housing designers befitting of the queen and her court. With their fashion and cultural revolution roots in the music scene, the independent boutiques of Carnaby reached their notoriety during the Swinging 60s and Kings Road was where punk was born. Notting Hill is home to the boho scene with the famous Portobello Market lined with vintage clothing and antique shops where designers go for inspiration. While many of the Fall collections were inspired by the effortless glam of the 70s to the layered and carefree look of 70s music icons, all of which incorporate that quirky British sense of style.
