(Rhen-uh-vah-toose) Verb To Renew; To Rejuvenate; To Restore; To Replenish; To Revive; To Repair
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 We were privileged to visit Todd’s hometown of Princeton, West Virginia this past weekend. We never could have imagined how our Father could use one weekend to change so many lives, including our own, for His glory! We spent the weekend with a man who is truly after God’s own heart, Pastor Jim Simmons. Pastor Jim invited Renevatuse to sing Christmas songs at the Angel Tree gift give-away Saturday afternoon. We were able to see firsthand how small collective sacrifices make an eternal impact on God’s kingdom. Children and adults were smiling as the Chic-fil-A Cow passed out gifts to the little ones (some of whom were orphans), and they were reminded that they were not forgotten and treasured by their Father in Heaven. As if that weren’t enough for one afternoon we joined Pastor Jim, an awesome magician/missionary Eric Richardson, and some other servants of Johnston Chapel at the Juvenile Detention Center for young men. We were able to serve pizza and ice cream, and fellowship with the young men, detention officers, and staff. Eric “wow”ed the young men with some pretty amazing slight of the hand and broke the ice for worship. As the band began to sing, the young men began to nod to the beat, and actually sang along after a few minutes. The band shared some of their testimony and how Jesus has changed their lives when all hope seemed lost. Sahara gave an alter call, and through weeping eyes SEVEN of these young men walked into the arms of Christ and made decisions to follow Him! There are no words to describe the atmosphere of God’s Spirit in that small room. Believing that there was simply no way to top that night, Renevatuse headed back to the hotel on a unquenchable spiritual high! Sunday morning we joined Johnston Chapel in the snow for church. The band shared a few songs and Todd thanked the church for the investment they made in his life. Thirty years ago he was saved in Johnston Chapel, and the word was planted in his heart through the many servants there. He gave a brief part of his testimony followed by “Words in Red”, which ended with a standing ovation! The weekend ended with reflection and fellowship at lunch with Pastor Jim and some of our new family in WV. We truly never could have imagined how God would use this ministry to touch lives. T h a n k s for p r a y I n g!!! We’re turning 1!! Wow, it’s hard to believe that Renevatuse is almost a year old! We will be celebrating our 1st birthday at I-Coffee on February 27th. What an appropriate place since that’s where we had our first gig!! Just like a baby we have grown a lot over the year! We are excited to share with you our journey and where we feel God leading us. We have some special treats planned for that evening including cake!! Please plan on joining us for our special night!!
