Beat the Cold By: Geca It’s freezing outside, and you’re stuck in your cozy house, curled up on the sofa, or maybe in bed, and you desperate for something, anything, to do… Need ideas? 1- Why not read a book? Now, I know this isn’t the most popular idea, but nothing can compare to that feeling of floating through a new world, leaving behind every last trace of worry that might be riddling your brain. 2- Watch a movie. One of our family’s traditions is a yearly movie marathon. We pick a series and we watch a movie every night. We like to mix it up every year and choose a new one each time, and our cousins love to join in on the fun. Nothing’s better than curling up onto the sofa, surrounded by family, watching your favorite movie series. You could try out Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, or maybe even some Marvel films.

3- Who better to talk to than your closest friend? Why not have a friend or friends over for some hot chocolate, cookies, and the latest gossip? 4- Family game night. This is one of my personal favorites. Coming from a very competitive family, I play to win, but if a more family friendly game is of your preference, than go for it. Get the whole family in on it and you’re bound to have some fun.

R5 Inspired Christmas Gifts By Leanne S Candles The first method of a homemade candle is in a jar. This one requires you to separately melt 5 crayon colors- pink, green, yellow, pink and blue (the R5 Sometime Last Night colors). The amount of crayons in each color that you will need to melt depends on your desired final look and how large your container is. Once you have your first color melted and have the wick attached to the bottom of the jar (you can do this by using a bit of your melted wax), you can poor the first section of wax into your jar. You can either keep an equal level or you can create angles by propping your jar up on different sides. Let this wax completely dry, I mean COMPLETELY dry. Then repeat with your other colors. Once all colors are finished, your beautiful candle is done! This will go perfect in any R5-themed bedroom or for anyone who loves to subtly rep their favorite band.

This second method of a homemade candle is not so subtle. What you’ll have to do is buy a candle out of a jar and print your gift receiver's favorite picture of R5 on a tissue paper covered piece of printer paper (all you have to do is cut out a piece of tissue paper a little larger than your printer paper, fit it to the printer paper, and glue it using a glue stick on the back). It is very important that this is neatly done, especially around the corners. Once you have your candle and your picture, you can cut your picture out and place it exactly how you want it over the candle, hold it in place using greaseproof paper (hold it very tightly). Hold it together in the back and wave a blow dryer over your picture until it looks like it has melted onto the candle. You can then take off the greaseproof paper and your lovely candle is finished! This gift is a nice twist to a poster-like gift‌ your recipient can enjoy displaying a picture of their favorite band while having a useful decor item in their living space.

Ornament This gift is perfect for anyone who loves a little color on their Christmas tree… and it’s super simple to make :) Take an empty ornament (you can find these at any craft store around the holiday season) and remove top. Fill the bulb with desired amounts of yellow, pink, blue, green, and purple glitter then place the top back on the ornament. If you would like, you can stop here or you can finish the gift by painting an R5 song lyric or the band’s logo on the bulb. Your new R5-worthy ornament is ready to hang on the tree.

Picture This gift is perfect for anyone in your life, but is geared towards your significant other. Unfortunately, this will only work if you guys have had the pleasure of meeting the band and took a picture with them with both of you in it. But, if you have been lucky enough to experience this, the perfect gift ever would be a framed copy of the picture to display in their living space.
