INSTITUTION HELPS CHILDREN WITH HEARING DISABILITIES IN BILA TSERKVA Children and silence… an incompatible situation. In a surrounding with children, you will always hear sounds of voices, laughing, noises. But among children there are also little ones with hearing disabilities. Music, sounds of nature, words from their mother and communication is a closed world for these children. Loss of hearing is a huge handicap for the normal development of a child. A deaf child has a disadvantage compared to children with normal hearing capacities. Research has proven that the sooner a deaf child receives special education and social help, the best results are to be reached for their general and linguistic competence. Communal educational institution of the Kyiv Regional Council “Special comprehensive school of I-II levels of Bila Tserkva” is a public comprehensive rehabilitation institution with preschool education department, that ensures implementation of the rights of children with hearing disabilities for education, social assistance, rehabilitation, etc. Now there are 75 children from the towns and villages of Kyiv region in this unique school. In the educational institution there are highly qualified teachers who teach, provide the children social and psychological skills so useful in the further lives. After school the children participate in all kinds of different activities. They enjoy sports, creative activities: choreography, visual arts, performing a song in sign language. Students of the school have won national, regional and local sports events and art exhibitions. The old inventory of the school needs to be replaced urgently. Also for the daily facilities, support will be needed. For these reasons we have pledged to help this institution in Bila Tserkva. Your financial support to the children with hearing disabilities in Bila Tserkva region is highly appreciated and the children will be very grateful for your support.

2. INTRODUCTION CSI 3/2/1* DE KRAAL INTERNATIONAL FOR SPORTS AND CHARITY After our lustrum edition last year we are looking ahead to our edition next edition in the last week of August 2017. But before we do that, we want to briefly look back at our successful event of last year: 160 riders from 26 countries competed with about 400 horses in the 4* and 2* categories which resulted in top sport with an impressive list of winners. The average selling price from our second edition of Foal Auction 111 confirmed that quality pays off, and the numerous visitors is for us the proof that this auction is and continues to be a popular addition to our program. The amazing parties were a great success with the live performance of local artist Stan van Samang the apotheosis of our lustrum celebration. Our motto is and will continue to be to improve our event every year to maintain the challenge. This year we have added a 1* class to our program to give the amateur riders the change to compete in the arena at a greater venue, and also creating the possibilities for young horses to pick up experience at these type of shows. Unfortunately the remaining part of the equestrian formula had to be changed slightly due to the FEI rule that a 4* event is not allowed to take place in the same weekend as the European champignonships. This means that we have lowered to a 3* event but the total price money remains the same with which we will attract a lot of Belgian and international top riders to Zandhoven. And to also give our most loyal participants a chance, for whom this level may be just out of reach, we are combining our show again with a 2* event, so that both the professional and the semi-professional riders get a
chance to compete with his or her colleague riders. De Kraal International has been organized not just for sports but also for chances; chances for the less fortunate in our society. The last two years we have supported ProForKids, a non-profit organization that supports projects in Ukraine for deaf and hard hearing children. After 20 years of enormous commitment and effort and a long list of successful and now independent projects (including “our” orphanage for deaf and hardhearing children in Sosnitsa), Mr. and Mrs. Eckard have decided that they are retiring. This meant that we went looking for a new project. In all our projects the common denominator was and will be children, and with the project “ Institution for children with hearing disabilities in Bila Tserkva”, we have found a new project were we can make difference and offer opportunities to the weakest of our society. No good equestrian show without some good parties; we have already contracted some great artists so we will not disappoint the party animals in 2017! With your presence you are showing your passion for the equestrian sport and your heart for the less fortunate. Thanks to your support we unify two worlds, of people and animals, who both deserve opportunities, each with their own possibilities and limitations. We look forward to seeing you at De Kraal International 2017!
