Come down! on

You’re the next camper on The Camp is Right! PLSAS Community Education offers camps that are local, affordable, convenient, and guaranteed. You can’t lose!

the camp is right

This year, we’re hoping everyone will be able to play along in some way. In addition to our traditional day camps, we’ve added some new program formats. Check out some short term and family options on page 6, including a new drop in program called Play Along, for students to get out of the house and create something for a very low cost. Need some time together as a family but too overwhelmed to plan it? Let us take care of the details. Just show up for our family friendly Summer Nights. We will keep you busy, having fun, and creating memories. Is transportation in the middle of the day a problem? Register your child for two camps at Hidden Oaks or Twin Oaks, a morning and afternoon, and we’ll keep them busy and engaged between camps through Camp Connection. This year, that program is bigger and better! We’re expanding the number of weeks it is offered, and adding fun projects and challenges to the program with weekly themes. See page 3 for more information. The Camp is Right with PLSAS Community Education! Tell us what you think! Complete an evaluation after camp, or share with us @isd719CommEd on Twitter and use #TheCampIsRight. Carrie Dobie @Carrie_Dobie Youth Programs Coordinator

In most cases, Community Education provides a Building Monitor or other staff person to be on site when we are offering programs at ISD 719 facilities. Feel free to contact the Community Education office if you have any questions about summer programming or safety. Help Us Ensure the Safety of Your Child. Please Follow these Class Safety and Behavior Procedures: • Provide an accessible daytime phone number and an additional emergency contact. • Drop off and pick up your child in the classroom on time each session. Late pick up fees will apply. • An adult signature is required when picking-up students in grades 5 and under following a Community Education program. Adults should report to program location, must be listed as an “Emergency Contact” or “anyone other than a parent picking-up child”, and must physically sign-out the student after each class. • If it is okay for your child (age 11 or over only) to walk or bike home following a Summer class, indicate that at registration. • Inform the instructor AND a Community Education staff person of any allergies, special needs, or behavioral concerns. Please note that 1:1 accommodations typically cannot be made for CE programs. • The behavior of students is expected to be appropriate for the class learning environment. We reserve the right to dismiss students immediately, without a refund, when behavior is not appropriate or jeopardizes the safety of themselves or other students.
