CHARRETTE RECAP The Charrette, also called Design Week, was an opportunity for the project team to engage with residents and learn about their concerns and challenges. The project team met with neighbors, abutters, the farmer’s market vendors, and the Friends of the Camden Tannery Park over the course of the Design Week and had over 30 visitors come to the Open Studio. Based on this feedback, the project team sketched new options for the site plan in real time and presented them at the Lunch & Discussion on the last day of the charrette.

Neighbors and residents gathered for the site walk to learn more about the proposal.

The charrette week ended with a lunch and presentation based on feedback from neighbors, residents, and the Camden Farmer’s Market whom we met with directly.

The Design Team spent 4 days working nearby the site in this pop-up studio on Mount Battie Street. The studio was open to the public, and over 30 people came to the studio to ask the team questions.

The Design Team visited the Camden Farmer’s Market to talk to vendors and residents about the proposed project and invite them to visit the studio to learn more.

FARMER’S MARKET POTENTIAL LAYOUTS

Proposed Site Plan (above). One of the major concerns from the Camden Farmer’s Market vendors that came up during the discussions was that the vendors want to be able to drive their trucks up to their tents. The project team diagrammed multiple layout options that demonstrate how the Camden Farmer’s Market can operate on the site. The Camden Farmer’s Market stated they need space for at least 25 vendors, and we can accomodate more than 25 vendors in all of the options. 6 INFORMATION PACKAGE · PROPOSAL · TANNERY PARK
