Cover Image The high scoring illustrative image from September 2015 image competition, titled, “Water Lily in the Wild” was created by Joanne Tan. I took this photo in May, 2015, in Beijing’s suburb in China, early dawn. The semi hazy atmosphere gave perfect natural light through my polarized filter, I spent 2 hours hunting beauty in a small pond of wild lilies behind a residential townhouse, a weekend get-away for the urban middle class. No photoshop adjustments were done to this image, to keep the originality of both the lily and its natural environment. Some cropping and minor adjustment was made through LightRoom. F/9, 1/640 sec, ISO 800, Sony A-65. All rights reserved.

Editor’s ’s Message December 2015
May that always continue to be true.
For the last 8 years it has been my priviledge and pleasure to serve Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area as Art Director and later Editor of your newsletter The PPGBA Bulletin.
Association with fellow professionals has more value than can be measured and I hope everyone involved will continue to add value to this incredible resourse.
PPGBA is one of the premiere photographic organizations in the US and probably the world. My fondest hope is that it will continue to serve professional and aspiring photographers in the Bay Area and beyond for many years to come as it always has in the past.
Unfortunately, my new full time position allows me no spare time for this worthwhile endeavor. My sincere hope is that someone else will have the time and desire to continue this important communication tool for this premiere organizaton. Happy holidays to everyone! Sincerely yours, Lise Smith
The times. they are a changing and so must we with them. I remember a time when membership and participation in this organization was a milestone of success as a photographer and each member considered it a great honor to serve such and amazing organization. December 2015
