ABOUT OUR RESEARCH

• Joint PhD with National University of Singapore

• Located in the Virginia

Woolf Building in central London, we provide dedicated desk and lounge space to doctoral students from around the world, creating the opportunity for casual corridor conversation, in addition to one-to-one supervision, with world-class scholars attached to large-scale funded research projects, interdisciplinary research centres, and collaborative partnerships with major cultural institutions in London and beyond. • Arts & Humanities Research Council doctoral studentships are available through the London Arts & Humanities Partnership, and undergraduate teaching opportunities are provided

through Graduate Teaching Assistantships. Graduate student-led workshops, skills lunches, and reading groups generate a climate of collegiality and cooperation. • Though students are encouraged to craft, in consultation with supervisors, a distinctive project all of their own, generally our research is organised around five thematic clusters: • Material, visual and digital cultures • Literature, medicine and science • Life writing, performance and creative writing • Gender and sexuality studies • Colonial, postcolonial, and transnational culture.

The vibrant research community at King’s was the main reason why I chose to continue studying here. My project is archive-based and could have been quite solitary, so it’s great to have a wide choice of seminars and reading groups where you can meet other people to share ideas and learn from their research. Alex, English PhD
