Environment PURA PROJECT


PURA [Providing urban amenities to rural areas] Vision: • Vibrant Rural business Hubs • Rural magnets: Rural Business Hubs, Navodhya School, Upgraded Hospitals with modern facilities, proper physical, electronic and knowledge connectivity which will increase the access time in transportation, education, healthcare and capacity building. Reverse migration and retain the rural masses thereby increase sustainable economic growth with better job opportunities • House to House Safe drinking water supply (Preferably tap water) • Bio-mass and Bio-Gas power plants will provide the basic power to the PURA Cluster • PURA Cluster bus services which minimize the distance • Construction of market complex/shops for each village for local employment with in the village. • PURA Cluster to be covered under total Sanitation programme.


PURA [Providing urban amenities to rural areas] Mission: • To broaden the social spectrum where caste and superstitions will sink into oblivion through peaceful propagation of equality and scientific temper. • To structure, practice and apply social justice and gender equality with belief in leadership by example. • To campaign for equal opportunities through a movement for education, health care and community services. • To focus on service network for the underprivileged and rural population by providing health care services including ante-natal outreach programmers. • To provide technology, with the twin purpose of human development and poverty eradication.


About Study Area • Talukas are in a semi arid region . • The mean annual temperature of the area is 26.0ºc. The maximum temperature in May being 31.1ºc. The average annual rainfall of the area is 25630″ There being fairly wide variations from year to year. • There is no any permanent river in this region. The ground water is also very deep.

AIM • To study and explore current environmental conditions to make the selected villages of Mehsana, thereby generate more livable environment and prevent out-migration to urban areas.


Objectives • To understand the region and comprehend the entire rural framework of selected talukas. • To study the availability and usage of resources in the talukas. • To evaluate the social and physical infrastructure existing at the village level and assess the optimality of the same.


Environment • Environment refers to the human-made surroundings that provide the setting for human activity, ranging in scale from personal shelter to neighborhoods to the large-scale civic surroundings.


Methodology • First of all preparing a base map using SOI topographical sheets and Revenue maps and Satellite imagery(LANDSAT 7) • Using statistical informations available from Primary Census Abstract the criteria's were selected and weights were assigned. • Based on these criterias analytical information were generated using the querying in GIS software. • Obtaining the maps of the results obtained from querying.
