Covering the period from the outbreak of the Great War until the guns finally fell silent more than four years later, this presentation unites the five different sovereign dates struck at Australian branches of the Royal Mint in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney in 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917 & 1918.
The commemorative 2016 Australia Sovereign is a modern tribute to the original Type 1 reverse designed by Leonard Charles Wyon, which features the St Edwards crown, a laurel wreath and the word AUSTRALIA.
Each of the 15 sovereigns in this collection is distinguished by Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous St George & Dragon reverse design, together with the original obverse portrayal of King George V – a portrait employed from 1911 to 1928. Prestigious, scarce and complete, including each year of WWI.

The Australian Stock Horse has been especially bred for Australian conditions. It is a hardy breed of horse noted for its endurance, agility and agreeable temperament. While its ancestry dates to the arrival of the first horses in Australia, today it is used in a wide variety of equestrian disciplines, and is also still highly valued as a working horse by stockmen throughout Australia.
Goannas are large, carnivorous reptiles or monitor lizards which can be found throughout Australia.
