Your wedding at Perry-Mansfield Thank you for your interest in Perry-Mansfield for your special day. Located in beautiful Strawberry Park, and just minutes north of downtown Steamboat Springs, Perry-Mansfield is the oldest continuously operating performing arts school and camp in the country. We celebrated 100 years of programming in 2013.
Steinberg Pavilion
Your rental fee includes the use of Steinberg Pavilion. Its fantastic mountain backdrop and rustic, elegant architecture offers the best of all worlds. There are three walls of floor-to-ceiling windows that let you have an “outdoor” celebration no matter what the weather. The Steinberg Pavilion can easily accommodate groups of up to 300 people. If you choose to have a seated function, the building will comfortably hold up to 150 people with room for a dance floor. The Steinberg Pavilion has approximately 2,200 sq. ft. on the main floor complimented with a 420 sq. ft. balcony. The flooring in the Pavilion is wood. There are two bathrooms on the main floor and an 8’ x 11’ room upstairs, often used by the bride or for childcare during the reception. Attached is a list of event/catering companies that have experience working here at Perry-Mansfield. Since there is no cooking kitchen onsite (just a service room), you will find it convenient to work with a company that has presented events here in the past. There is ample room for a big tent just north of the building if additional covered space is required. Once you have booked your event weekend, your event planner will communicate directly with Perry-Mansfield, so please choose the company that you feel will represent your wishes. If you choose an outdoor wedding ceremony, choose one of the wedding sites from the list below. Note that spring weather might prevent use of some areas — it’s Mud Season! • Near Steinberg Pavilion – either behind to the north, or by the adjacent pond to the east. These choices work

well for large groups and have easy access to the Pavilion bathrooms. Being close to the Pavilion allows for a quick location change should the weather turn for the worse. Power is available for a small sound system. Aspen Grove east of Sagebrush Cabin – our most popular choice for fall weddings and can easily accommodate 100 guests. Power is available for a small sound system. There is no permanent seating in the Aspen Grove, but your planner can easily set up chairs and anything else you may require. The Meadow/Pasture by Cabeen – can seat 100 guests, but has walkable access only. This is often used for western theme weddings. No power available. Not easily accessible for guests who require paved pathways. Skyline Hill – this site overlooks the valley and can accommodate 50 guests. This is an uphill hike. If you think you are interested in this location, we recommend that you visit the site in person. Bathrooms are not close; no power. Grove by Louis Horst Studio – This site will work for a limited number of guests (up to 50). No permanent seating; restrooms are within walking distance, but not in the Studio itself.
Please be aware that the weather in Steamboat Springs is extremely unpredictable, so make sure that you have a back-up plan in case it starts to rain or snow on the day of your event.
Cabins for your guests
We are pleased to offer five cabins on the grounds for your overnight guests. These are rustic cabins nestled in the woods of Perry-Mansfield. Each one has a kitchen, and is furnished in log-cabin style. Total “pillows” available is 24, in a mixture of twin, full, queen, and futon beds. A complete listing of each cabin’s capacity and layout is available upon request.
Please note that the facility will not be reserved for your event until a rental contract has been signed, your deposit has been received, and you have received written confirmation from Perry-Mansfield.

Rental Cost, Deposit, and Cancellations: Campus Rental is $6,500 for Friday noon through Monday at noon. Included in that fee is a $600 security deposit which must accompany the returned contract once you have been notified that your date is available. Based on the condition of the premises after your function, including the cabins, the entire $600 may be returned to you. Full payment or notice of cancellation must be received 90 days prior to your Function Date. Any notice of cancellation MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING to the Perry-Mansfield Office. If payment or notice of cancellation is not received 90 days prior to the rental date, any payments to date will be forfeit.

Facility Rental Guidelines: SMOKING: Perry-Mansfield is a non-smoking facility. Evidence of smoking inside or outside the buildings will result in forfeiture of your deposit and a request to leave the premises. This is in force in the cabins as well, so please make it clear to your guests that there is absolutely no smoking anywhere on campus. Your event planner may have some ideas about how to accommodate your guests who smoke. CLEANING: Included in your rental charge is a cleaning fee to ensure that the facility will be cleaned before and after your event. However, there are still a few mandatory clean up duties that must be taken care of by your event planner. All trash, recycling, etc. must be taken to the dumpster at Julie Harris Theater on campus. No center pieces, decorations, etc., can be left in the building, and any trash outside of the building must be picked up and taken to the dumpster. INSURANCE: As part of your rental fee, Perry-Mansfield provides $1 million in coverage for Tenant User Liability Insurance Protection. SOUND: In accordance with the guidelines of our Routt County Special Use Permit, sound levels must be turned down by 11:00 PM and turned off by Midnight. DECORATIONS/CANDLES: Tenants may decorate the facility during the time specified in the contract. No tape, pins, tacks, wire, screws, nails, or other objects leaving permanent holes or marks are to be used on walls, floors, beams, ceilings, or staircase railings. We recommend using plastic garbage ties to secure your decorations. All candles must have a protective base and sides (deep votives are recommended) to keep wax from dripping onto the wood and carpet. RICE, CONFETTI, GLITTER AND SPARKLERS: No rice, confetti, glitter or sparklers — inside or outside of the building. We recommend flower petals or birdseed if you would like to throw something on the newlyweds. Check with your event planner for other options. PLANTS: If any potted plants are brought in as part of a tenant’s decorations, a means to protect the floor from sap, dripping or dirt is required. BEER KEGS: If kegs are brought into the building, a thick, protective plastic must be placed under the kegs to protect the floor. We recommend keeping kegs outside. DAMAGE: Perry-Mansfield determines what is considered to be damage. This includes, but is not limited to, markings or residue on carpet, walls, hardware, bathroom fixtures, windows, wax stains, tire tracks off designated roadways, etc. CAMPUS/GROUNDS: Please respect the grounds and other buildings on the Perry-Mansfield Campus, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Your rental allows you to enjoy all areas of the lovely grounds. Please be aware that staff do live on campus, so do not enter buildings other than the ones identified on your contract. Your event planner knows that there is limited parking on campus and will have recommendations to accommodate your transportation needs. There is no parking outside of designated areas on campus.
