a subtropical climate, versatile terrain and proximity to the ocean, creating a paradise for golfers and the perfect setting for four of the coast’s leading golf layouts. Dave Genevro, general manager at the Barefoot Resort, explained, “It’s one-stop shopping. You can stay at one place to play four different courses, and golf packages can be customized for your group’s needs. There are more than 1100 restaurants in Myrtle Beach, and so many options for great entertainment.” Myrtle Beach’s Fantastic Four at the Barefoot Resort—The Norman, Love, Fazio and Dye courses—were designed by golf’s most inspired architects: Greg Norman, Davis Love

Throughout history, Pebble Beach has attracted extraordinary visitors--from Samuel F.B. Morse to Clint Eastwood, Teddy Roosevelt to Jay Leno, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.

III, Tom Fazio and Pete Dye and have been rated by Golf Digest as among “best places to play” for both average golfers and those with low handicaps. The Boulders: Scottsdale, Arizona Voted as two of the top 20 golf courses in Arizona by Golf Week Magazine, the Boulders, a desert hide-away, is a semi-private country club for resort guests and club members. Its two 18-hole championship courses, nestled among 12 million year-old granite boulder formations in the Sonoran desert, have won Golf Magazine’s Gold Medal Award multiple times. The Boulders is one of only five resorts awarded this prestigious award every year since its inception in 1988. One par 72, the other par 71, both courses were designed by Jay Moorish and are known for their rugged beauty and considered the most demanding in the southwest. But while playing on either course, golfers need to keep their eyes on more than their ball – just in case a bobcat or coyote drops by. Resort guests can reserve tee time up to 90 days in advance. After golf, pampering is in order. The Boulders’ 33,000 square foot Golden Door Spa offers massages as well as Native American specialty wraps and therapies. There is also a fitness center for invigorating workouts, a tennis garden and a pool nestled against the ancient boulders. St. Andrews, Scotland: Old Course Edinburgh, one of Europe’s most enchanting capital cities, is also the gateway to East Lothian and Scotland’s Historic Golf Coast. St. Andrews Links, often called “The Home of Golf,” has been a golf destination for 600 years. Its seven golf courses make up the largest public golf complex in Europe. Among them is the world renowned Old Course. It has been the host of the Open Championship more

times than any other venue, and host for its 25th time in 2015. In the 1700s, the Old Course consisted of 22 holes with golfers playing the same 11 holes going out and in. But the golfers decided that the first 4 (which were also the last 4) were too short, and should be made into two holes instead of four. This reduced the number to 18. The number stuck, and that is how today’s standard round of golf was created. The Old Course is at the heart of the links, but alongside are five other 18-hole courses. Booking tee times is easier than you might think – they can all be reserved in advance. Casa de Campo; Dominican Republic A tropical gem on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic, the 7000- acre Casa de Campo, a top travel destination, is often referred to as the Caribbean’s most complete resort. It is undoubtedly a playground with world-class toys and accommodations. Sand and sea, hill and valley, challenge and celebration; the thrill of the game of golf reveals itself across three Championship golf courses and 63 holes, all designed by Golf Hall of Fame member Pete Dye. Golfers can choose to challenge their game on the Caribbean’s top golf courses -Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore or The Links. Casa De Campo was voted the world’s Leading Golf Resort for the fifth consecutive year by travel agents worldwide at the annual World Travel Awards. The resort offers special packages for golf buddies, including a stay at a five-star hotel and a variety of dining options. After a round of golf, there are plenty of activities besides a margarita at the swim-up bar. Try tennis, sport shooting, horse-back riding, a work out at the fitness center, water sports at the private beach, or a soothing massage at the Casa de Campo spa. SE
