CELEBRATION OF WORSHIP

Peachtree is a community of Jesus followers inviting people to follow God in heart, mind, and strength.

Assemble in God’s Name

Invitation to Prayer How Great Thou Art  (v. 1 & 2)

Congregational Introit * Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation

Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Prelude

Prayer of Adoration*

Give Praise to God Hymn of Praise ** Holy, Holy, Holy  #11

Lighting of the Candles Placing the Bible Prayer of Confession Gracious and loving God, your ways with us are unsearchable. Your paths are beyond tracing out. So often we rely on our own reason when we assess your love. When we cannot comprehend your plans or purposes, we easily question your love for us. We confess that we cannot know your mind. We are never in a position to give you advice. Forgive us for rushing to conclusions about things that are beyond us. Grasp us now with your love that surpasses knowledge, that we might hold firmly to you in all things, living each day with humble gratitude. Take hold of us in these moments as we continue our confession in silence… Assurance of God’s Forgiveness Congregational Response* Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing  #379 (v. 3) Life of the Congregation**

* Those who are able, please stand. ** Ushers will seat latecomers at this time.

Offering Our Gifts The Majesty and Glory of Your Name  Tom Fettke When I gaze into the night skies And see the work of Your fingers; The moon and stars suspended in space. Oh what is man that You are mindful of him?

O Lord, our God, little children praise You perfectly, And so would we and so would we. Alleluia, Alleluia, the majesty and glory of Your name. Alleluia! Doxology Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow #544

Listen to God’s Word

DIMENSIONS: HOW HIGH? 2 Samuel 6:14–21 (Pew Bible, 479–480) Romans 11:33–36 (Pew Bible, 1763) Vic Pentz  8:45, 10:00, 11:15

Go in God’s Name

Hymn of Response* Lift High the Cross (not in hymnal) Invitation and Benediction* Postlude*

You have given man a crown of glory and honor, And have made him a little lower than the angels. You have put him in charge of all creation: The beasts of the field, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea. But what is man, oh, what is man that You are mindful of him? O Lord, our God, the majesty and glory of Your name Transcends the earth and fills the heavens.

The beautiful flowers in the Sanctuary this morning are given to the glory of God and in Loving Memory of: William N. Blake by his wife, Ellen, and his daughter and her husband, Virginia and Matt Maguire

If your young child needs attention during worship, live broadcasts of the service are available in the Williams Center and the Mothers and Infants Room off of the Williams Center.

We often think of our life as a mishmash of hundreds of individual moments in time. But what if everything we experience is really part of one great narrative?
