Spring is in the air and we are thrilled to be bringing you the next seasonal edition of VUE e-magazine – the dedicated publication of Long Pocket Weddings & Events. This issue is filled to the brim with all things food, as we visit the kitchen to meet with Long Pocket’s talented Apprentice – Tahllia Maas and showcase our 2015 wedding menus. We also share with you the beautiful wedding of Jessica and Stephen and we reflect on our recent Charity Golf Day.

Social Golf PUBLIC PLAY
Indooroopilly Golf Club welcomes visitors to play our 36-hole championship golf course from Sunday to Friday. Located on a bend of the Brisbane River just 10 minutes from the heart of Brisbane, we offer a great golf experience in a relaxed setting. Please note that Indooroopilly Golf Club has a strict Dress Code. For insurance reasons external motorised carts are not allowed at Indooroopilly Golf Club. We have 60 motorised carts available for hire should they be required.
BOOK ONLINE Indooroopilly Golf Club offers you the chance to access online timesheets as a registered Public Member. By registering, you can book your next tee off time for 18-holes of golf from Sunday to Friday. If you require a motorised golf cart please call the Golf Shop prior to booking to confirm availability.

Staff Spotlight What lead you to a career as a chef? The reason I pursued a career in the hospitality industry is because I really loved to cook as a child. I tried my hand at front of house work, however fell in love with the kitchen - so far I am loving it and want to continue. What is the best part about your job? The best part about my job is that I get to create new and exotic foods for people to enjoy. That and being part of a team is what I love the most. Tell us a little more about your job? I have been offered a wonderful opportunity by the Indooroopilly Golf Club to commence a school based apprenticeship. I started my apprenticeship in April this year and plan to continue until I have successfully completed my certificate III in commercial cookery. What style of food do you create at Long Pocket? I don’t have a particular style of food I create because as an apprentice I am encouraged to try everything to gain experience and to eventually find my style. What is your favorite dish to cook? My favorite dish to cook so far would have to be an upsidedown new York cheesecake, followed closely by sticky date muffins - they taste amazing and are a definite comfort food. Favourite ingredient? Definitely sugar because everyone’s life needs a sweeting up once in a while and I would want to be the one to help them with that.
