Planned Giving A Gift that Lasts for Generations

Transforming lives ‌ one student at a time.

Providing superior, accessible education that transforms lives ‌

Palm Beach State College

is the first step on a path to higher education for thousands of individuals each year. The vast majority of these students are area high school graduates. Others are already in the workforce seeking state-of-the-art continuing education and professional training to update their skills and stay marketable in our highly competitive work environment. Palm Beach State College provides a quality education to everyone, including those in our community who might not otherwise have access to higher education. Whether it’s a technical certifcation, bachelor’s or associate’s degree program, we’re changing lives.

…one student at a time.

Establishing your legacy‌

Planned Giving is a way for you to make a lasting and valuable contribution to the quality of our entire community, in ways you may never have dreamed. A lasting legacy can reach far beyond what you ever hoped. In addition to the value of your generosity, there are many ways to benefit from tax deductions or income streams while supporting access to education at Palm Beach State College. Structuring a planned gift is an opportunity for you to help those with educational ambitions who need our support.

An ANNUAL GIFT in the form of cash, or securities – allows the Foundation to award thousands of student scholarships each year as well as support current academic program needs.

PLANNED GIFTS in any form allow the Foundation to grow, prosper, and plan forward to meet the future student needs that tuition and state assistance cannot cover.

Many excellent alternatives exist for those interested in Planned Giving. Some can be made quite easily; examples include, designating the Foundation as the beneficiary in your will, retirement asset or bank account upon your death by listing “Palm Beach State College Foundation with principle location in Lake Worth, FL. EIN 59-1818556,” or Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA). Through CGAs, you can make a gift to the College, and enjoy an immediate tax deduction: Let’s say you and your spouse are 75 years old. If you make a $100,000 gift to Palm Beach State College, with your spouse named as primary beneficiary, you will receive an annuity payment of $5,600 per year - that’s 5.6% of the amount of your gift through their lifetime. If there were no named beneficiary, the annual payment would be $6,300 or 6.3%. (Please know that percentages change periodically.) Additional examples of what Planned Giving is about are included below and on our website– each helps to develop a legacy of generosity to support future need. The

Palm Society

The Palm Beach State College Foundation’s Palm Society was created to recognize and honor those who have designated Palm Beach State College as a beneficiary and informed the Foundation of this decision during their lifetime. When making a Planned Gift to the Foundation, rest assured that your resources also will be used according to your wishes and managed professionally. (You may make your gift anonymously.) We are here to help. Please give us a call so that we can help you structure a gift which best fulfills your needs and wishes.
