Flight training at Palm Beach State is cost-effective, and you may qualify for financial aid, veterans’ benefits and scholarships. Day, evening and online classes are available, as well as accelerated courses during express terms. A bachelor’s degree is one of the key requirements needed to work for the major airlines and most corporations. Our associate degree graduates have two excellent and economical choices: Stay at Palm Beach State and put your credits toward our Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Supervision and Management. Or, you may transfer your course credits to EmbryRiddle Aeronautical University in Ft. Lauderdale. High school graduates of Boynton Aerospace Science Academy also can save money by attending Palm Beach State for all or part of their education. You may qualify to receive credit toward our associate degrees for your existing pilot licenses or ratings.

561-868-3474 Achieve your dream of becoming a professional pilot with an A.S. or A.A.S. degree from Palm Beach State. Each degree offers an airplane or helicopter option, giving you targeted training! In about two years, you can earn the following Federal Aviation Administration credentials, based on the option you select: • Private Pilot License

FAA

• Instrument Rating • Commercial Pilot License • Multi-Engine Rating • Flight Instructor certificates – CFI, CFI-I and MEI

With these credentials under your belt, you can begin working as a flight instructor or professional pilot. As your total airplane or helicopter flight hours accumulate, you will qualify to apply for positions in areas such as: regional commuter airlines, commercial cargo or charter operations, aerial survey, agriculture, medical emergency transport, law enforcement, aerial photography, or aerial firefighting. When you accumulate 1,500 hours (airplane) or 1,200 hours (helicopter) of specific flight time and complete the required training, you will be eligible for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license – the final credential for your airline career.

Commercial Pilot Airplane Option / Helicopter Option College Credit Certificate The two-term Commercial Pilot CCC is an intermediate step toward earning a Professional Pilot A.S. or A.A.S. degree. Students graduate with an FAA Commercial Pilot license, but most continue their training to qualify for a major flying career. All CCC credits transfer into the Professional Pilot programs, making it a seamless transition to pursue your associate degree.

Train with the best! No matter which option you choose, you will train under the guidance of FAA-approved flight instructors and use current technology, including flight simulators with multiengine capability and Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation.

561-868-3474 Prepare for an exciting career in aviation management at Palm Beach State and earn an A.S. or A.A.S. degree in about two years, with your choice of these options:

Flight Operations Option Gain a greater understanding of the aviation world with the Flight Operations Option. This program will prepare you to become proficient in planning, organizing, directing and controlling an aviationrelated business. You’ll learn various theories of management and build the knowledge necessary for decision making and managing material and human resources.

Maintenance Operations Option If you currently hold an Airframe Certificate and Power Plant Mechanics Certificate (A&P) issued by the FAA, you can pursue an associate degree that will give you management skills and knowledge for advancement within the aviation maintenance industry. The College’s Maintenance Operations Option offers real-world opportunities to work with aircraft maintenance inspectors, avionics technicians, aviation maintenance technicians and line maintenance controllers.

Corporate & Continuing Education If you’re already a certified pilot and need recurrent training or would like to acquire additional skills, Palm Beach State College offers all levels of individual pilot proficiency training.
