Usingartificialintelligence(AI)researchtools, Quilt.AIwillanalyzehowGBVisrepresentedin Jamaicansocialmediaanddissect accompanyingpublicperceptions.Quilt.AIwill identifytrustworthysourcesandmessagingon varioussocialmediaplatformsthroughthe analysisofsearchdata,keywords,videos, images,profiles,andposts.Insightsgained willbeusedtodevelopaneffective communicationcampaigntochangeattitudes andbehavioursregardingGBV,ultimatelyto increasethelikelihoodofreducingGBVin Jamaica.

Whilegender-basedviolenceis hiddenbya‘cultureofsilence’, violenceagainstmenisvisible

GeneralizedviolenceinJamaicareceivesmuchmedia attentionwhileGBVislesspublicized,spokenabout,or legitimizedbylegalinstitutions.Thus,usersmayfeelremoved fromtheissueofGBVandaremoreoutragedbygang violence,corporalpunishmentorurbancrime.Thecultureof silencingvictimsofGBV,underreporting,andthebeliefthat violenceagainstwomenoccursinprivatespaces,apartfrom society,allservetoperpetuatethisnorm.
