COLOR RANGE
The popularity of fitness blogs and sportswear tags on Instagram and Pinterest continues unabated. Fitness is increasingly seen as a lifestyle in itself, fueled mostly by women, and driven both by the quest for a perfect body and a healthy life, and by ever more attractive active styles. Ready-to-wear giants are responding to the increased demand with their own sports ranges along with luxury sportswear brands, and contribute to refining activewear aesthetics down to the last details. This mood targets aesthete athletes looking for beautiful products at the intersection of performance and refinement. Dedicated to fitness, it focuses on holistic winter spa, yoga and Pilates. Even outdoor sports such as bouldering or Nordic walking are treated as fitness activities. Fabrics are precious and therapeutic, featuring shot effects, and mineral, aluminum or reflective reflections.

Faced with the need to evolve in a world of diminishing natural resources, this story seeks to disconnect us from a dematerialized era to better reconnect us to the primitive and natural acuteness of the senses. Influenced by the “Survivor Attitude” and the principles of health-oriented Paleolithic rhythms, Instincts reinvents nature sports styles linked to increased self- awareness. Dedicated to nature sports, often linked to self-discovery, it targets ancestral activities such as snowshoeing and ski touring, key drivers of the outdoor market. Fabrics favor authenticity, with fancy polar fleece, soft wool and cellulosic fiber blends and double-sided knits with rustic faces and techno backs, for a silhouette under Nordic influences that promote environmentally friendly designs.

COLOR RANGE
The frontier between reality and science fiction continue to fade, as seen in the upcoming bionic Olympics in 2016. This story evokes the many projections, from the most realistic to the most outlandish, of post-apocalyptic visions. Synthetic life forms, bio-hacking and super heroes intersect with the hypothetical reality of design to promote avant-garde technologies and aesthetics, in line with performance sports. It explores possible future scenarios at the intersection of super hero and post-apocalyptic combattant aesthetics and targets combat and terrain sports as well as newer activities such as snowtrailing or kite-wing. Fabrics tend to focus on reactive and sensitive properties as if to evoke the ever-evolving world of bio-hacking while embossed and heat-shaped motifs are more exacerbated than ever.
04 / CODES This orientation relies on neutrality to promote generic design. It is connected with Suprematism as well as with the normcore movement of previous seasons. Industrial and digital references are merged in a timeless wardrobe with high impact graphics. The spread of data design is inspiring a new universal stylistic language that drives leisure sports, from urban mobility to traveling. Dedicated to urban and leisure sports, it targets traveling and urban mobility with a distinct ‘weekender’ vibe. Fabrics feature techno denims, recolored heather and scrambled effects evoke urban noise and static, new pop fleece boast geometric patterned brushed backs. Motifs take their cue from linear and interlocking typographies inspired by architecture, glitches and the black and white checks of data design, for a wardrobe of updated basics.

SUSTAINABLE OPTIONS Environmentally and socially responsible products are no longer a trend – consumers are making more conscious decisions and choosing products that embrace sustainable practices and social programs – it’s a movement toward a new way of being. Outdoor Retailer’s 2016 “Pushing the Limits” Fashion Show will feature sustainable fashion and outdoor wear to help you, the retailer, make informed choices about the products you bring into your store. Outdoor industry non-profit organizations Textile Exchange and the OIA Sustainability Working Group vetted each company bearing our logo. Both organizations are committed to the responsible expansion of textile sustainability in product design and execution. The companies we’ve designated support the following initiatives: • Able to substantiate the validity of their sustainable product claims. • Ensure that any organic or recycled fiber used has been grown or recycled to a recognized standard. • Meet or surpass the legal requirements in the countries where their goods are being sold, including meeting organic laws, recycled laws, labeling laws, as well as the laws governing business and trade. • Promote and support the highest level of growing, production and manufacturing integrity within the sustainable textile industry. • Support impact reduction through the development, harmonization, adoption, and education around supply chain tools. • Practice community building through the outdoor industry’s ongoing “Community of Practice” on key supply chain topics.
