Working closely with the land owner and their outdoor industry partners, Rock/Creek pulled together a very unique partnership to permanently open a very prestigious rock climbing area to the entire community – Stone Fort. “Outdoor industry vendors are looking for ways to partner with their retailers to affect positive change in these local communities. It’s part of the lifeblood of this industry to find those causes, those interests, and help them come to fruition. Without Outdoor Retailer, without a place for both retailers and vendors to come together and work together, opportunities like Stone Fort would never be realized. “This was my 28th time attending Outdoor Retailer, and it was awesome! It’s always good to find new stuff. We’re seeing a lot of lumberjack and woodsman inspired prints. It’s been growing for a couple of years and it’s getting huge, in fact, I’ve been inspired to grow a beard. But seriously, the whole urban theme is everywhere. It’s pretty cool. Technical packs or things that look technical are not what people want to buy. They want to buy items with leather patches and old school metal buckles.
