FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2016

Consolidation and Moving Sale WASHINGTON, D.C.- At the beginning of 2017, The Old Print Gallery, currently located in historic Georgetown, will move and consolidate its inventory with its sister shop in New York City, The Old Print Shop, Inc. The decision to close our Georgetown gallery was arrived at only after immense consideration. However, due to several logistical factors, it is no longer feasible for The Old Print Gallery to operate in our current Georgetown location. The lease on our gallery space in Georgetown ends at the beginning of 2017. Due to increase in rental rates throughout the city, we were forced to reevaluate the need for two traditional brick-and-mortar branch locations. This strategy also aligns with the changing retail environment, as collectors and consumers increasingly browse and purchase from our collection of rare maps, prints, and modern art online. It was decided that the best way to move forward was to consolidate the inventory and operate out of The Old Print Shop in New York City, as well as online at www.oldprintshop.com and at significant print and map fairs throughout the year. In preparation for the move to New York, The Old Print Gallery will hold a significant moving sale, with heavy discounts on antique prints and maps. Starting at the beginning of October, original works on paper, spanning from the 16th century through the 20th century, will all be offered at steep discounts of 20%, 30%, and 50%. Extra inventory and framed items will also be sold- including great Washington DC scenes, US and foreign views and maps, botanical collections, genre prints, political cartoons, and sporting art. This is unique opportunity for new and existing collectors to acquire original works of art and significant pieces of Americana at substantial discount. Founded in 1971, The Old Print Gallery has been lucky to call Georgetown home for 45 years. The gallery has established itself as a source of inspiration and information for print collectors, cartographic enthusiasts, and the general public, introducing people to the wonder and history of antique prints and maps. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the countless collectors, customers, artists, and others who have supported The Old Print Gallery over the last four decades, and who continue to support us now. ### Media Contact: Laura Graham / 202-965-1818/ info@oldprintgallery.com The Old Print Gallery st 1220 31 Street NW Washington DC 20007 www.oldprintgallery.com
